Sneezy Co-workers

I work for a small company where we all sit in little cubicles. Everyone is in one big room and you can at least hear what is going on around you even if you can't always see it. Lately there is a cold that seems to be spreading from person to person and I've been surrounded by all different kinds of sneezes on a daily basis. There is one girl (blond, full figured, quite pretty) who sneezes just once but it is extremely loud and doesn't have a lot of buildup. It's so sudden that everyone just jumps when she does it and comments on the severity of the sneeze. I couldn't even spell it out accurately so that you could hear what it sounds like...sort of like "aaaaaaacho!!!" all in one loud quick breath. She always gets quite embarassed about how she sneezes and explained that both of her parents sneeze the same way.

There is another girl (who describes herself as a black diva who is gods gift to men...yes, I'm serious!) who sneezes in multiples and will continue talking the whole time. She doesn't even bother to try and cover her nose, doesn't even bother to mute her phone and she is probably one of the major culprits on why the cold keeps getting passed around. Her sneezes are very rough sounding and each one just sounds like "choo, choo, choo" and they happen about 10 seconds apart. She's been known to sneeze up to 10 or more times and never uses a kleenex. She just kind of sucks in and swallows all of the mucus (much to the dismay of a lot of co-workers who complain that they become quite nauseated at the way it sounds).

Then we come to the girls who stifle. There are 2 in particular who come to mind. They both sneeze a lot, try desperately to be as quiet as possible, and are both prone to little fits which can last a good 5+ minutes and consists of 20 or more sneezes. Both are very attractive blonds and get so embarassed. They basically try to stifle over and over and over again until they just can't hold the sneezes in and then sneeze into their sleeve or a kleenex still trying to be as quite as they can. I have to admit that I try to choose seats near them because it's quite a wonderful experience.

And that self-proclaimed diva sounds like my kinda gal! I mean, sneezes in multiples? Uncovered? Oh yeah!

But yeah, as a germophobe, I'd probably HATE this time of year more than I'd like it. The whole office-cold scenario can cause me a great deal of distress when I remember I don't like germs... and at the same time, when I get over myself I can also find the fun in it

Absolutely. I work in a cubicle too. I hear sneezes all around me. I think so far this morning I've heard about 5. All singles from different people None from me.

Hi again. The co-workers seem to have all gotten better now but I'm pretty sure have passed their wonderful illness on to me. I have been sneezing all day (I am pretty shy when I sneeze and always stifle my little mini fits quite easily) and it seems to be getting worse as the night goes on. Now Im super congested and the sneezes just keep coming. My eyes are watering and I'm running out of kleenex already. I still have 2 more days of work until I have a day off....this should be fun. I'll keep you posted....(as I'm typing this I'm having another little fit of 8 so far...they are pretty quiet and very congested sounding... lots of build up and eyes watering before they start and then....aaaaacho, cho, cho...hahaachoo, cho, cho, chooo, hicho...then hihihihi....its stuck....aaaaa......this sucks.....nose and throat are tingling.....i'm dizzy.....here comes some more....hichi, chi, chiii...cho cho. I think I'm done for now. Talk to ya'all later.
