Not the most hygienic style of cooking, to be having a sneezing fit whilst doing so; but hey, it was fun!

I was preparing dinner (jacket potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce), and adding herbs, spices, and seasoning to it. And as I opened the jars I began to sneeze! I had a fit of about five or six sneezes; all quite wet and sloppy... and I'm ashamed to say, I didn't even think to cover! So my pre-cooked dinner got a bit of a splattering. But hey, it wasn't as if I was cooking for anyone but me!

Was rather fun though; I haven't been induced by things like pepper in a long while (usually just makes my nose burn!) :blink:

Well, it's not as if it was some terrible germ that was tickling your nose in its desire to get out into the world and infect someone; I'm sure even so that absorbing one's own germs must boost the immune system. And when you think of what must go on in restaurant kitchens....

Very nice obs. You should spell out your sneezes, if you can.. It could have been a non-peppery spice that stimulated your nostrils. perhaps you should experiment.

I was cooking with pepper, salt, mixed herbs, and ground red chilli powder... i have a feeling it was the chilli powder, although I actually started sneezing whilst I was holding the pepper...

spell my sneezes out? I think these ones were of the "ha-CHOO" variety... i had an intake before the fit; all the sneezes were in rapid succession without much pause.

is that a better description? still getting used to this obs malarchy! :blink:

That happens to me sometimes. I make allot of poultry in my rotissire and usually I season the chicken with a combination of the same spices......garlic powder, old bay, celery salt and Mrs. Dash. 8 times out of 10 times doing so I usally sneeze once. Couldn't tell you which ond of them do the trick though. Don't think I haven't tried sniffing each and every one. :blink:
