juliette
Yesterday R. took me up to our local animal sanctuary place to look at bunny rabbits, 'cos I've been saying I wanted one. Then we had lunch and afterwards a walk around this quiet area. I had eaten something very cheesy for lunch and when he kissed me I took the opportunity to apologise for tasting of cheese and have a mint gum... So of course he accepted one too... at this point we start walking back to the car so I cuddled up to him, his left arm was around my waist and my arm was round his back with me leaning up against him a bit, and watching him carefully while we walked. What a great position to be in when he is chewing a minty gum!His nostrils flared a bit for a half minute or so and then he leant away from me a little to his right and sneezed a very natural, uncovered sneeze.... HUUUHHHHUUUUSSCHHHHHH.... like that.Me: "Bless you, darling,"R: tries to lean even further away from me but without releasing his hold round my waist.... "ahhhhTISHOO!"The second sneeze was also uncovered, sort of aimed towards the ground.Me: "Bless you."R: "Sorry..." and then, possibly because I was still staring at him in awe, "Apologies..." Me: (melting inside) - kisses his cheek and mumbles "You OK sweetie?"I gave him extra points for not covering up, it's unusual for him. Then again I give him extra points for sneezing into his hankerchief as well, because I think that's adorable, or for sneezing into his hand, especially if I can hold it immediately afterwards.I wonder how long before he realises I keep deliberately giving him mints then swooning over his sneezes? Anyone have any tips for me on that?Hmmm.... SO in love juliette Link to comment
atchoum
Ah, so R is a mint sneezer too - on top of his other accomplishments! There are a couple too on the forum. Fascinating, isn't it, that mints can have this effect on so many people! Link to comment

juliette
A connection between mints and sneezing!?Oh so excited! Thanks all! Hi! Is this the first time you've heard of mints making someone sneeze? I posted in my other thread (A little self obs ) about how I found out that mints make him sneeze, I had NEVER heard of anything like it before. Naturally I then googled mints and sneezing and found that it is not that uncommon. I think that possibly photic sneezers tend to have this sensitivity to mint.R. is a photic sneezer too, but it's occasional rather than all the time... (sadly!)juliette Link to comment
Sneesee
I do know of someone who has that same reaction to Dentyne Fire mints, and they make him sneeze a LOT! Also, my hubby is a photic sneezer, and I just love that phenomenom!!!! So, good thing for you, juliette, that he has a reaction to both!Um, lovely obs! I have to say, I'm all about the uncovered sneezing,a nd sneezing while they are still somewhat attached to you. And honestly, unless you jump his bones every time he sneezes, I don't think he'll ever realize what it does to you. I'm sure he thinks that maybe you just think it's cute or something. And Beat Him When He Sneezes
So mints make him sneeze? I've never heard of that before. Doesn't he realize the effect they have on him? If he does and he's accepting them anyway, he just might know more than you think. Link to comment

If he does and he's accepting them anyway, he just might know more than you think.Absolutely they make him sneeze! It's one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. And he definitely knows it, he usually says after a mint sneeze (or two, they normally come in twos, to my delight), something like "Sorry, that's my minty sneezes," or "That's the mint - it always makes me sneeze, I don't know why." (As if I could ever have forgotten after the first time he told me!!!)I'm so lucky aren't I.... juliette Link to comment
