Sneesee
Today, hubby and I decided to work on cleaning up our basement in preparation for our upcoming Halloween Party. We have a lot of stuff to do down there, and since the weather was mostly crappy and cold outside, the indoor project was a great idea for today. Plus, it looks as though it’s going to be a major project to decorate, so I’m really glad we started now.Okay, now on to the observation. I started out be sweeping up a lot of dirt and cat hair on the floor, but didn’t really feel anything during that time. Hubby vacuumed up all of my dirt, and then when things looked somewhat workable, we started to put up some black plastic sheeting to set the atmosphere for the party and to cover up all of our junk! I was holding one end of the plastic up, and hubby was at the other end, stapling it up to the floor joists. He was on a ladder, while I stood on the floor. My right hand was holding up my corner, when the tickle started somewhere in the back of my nostrils, and then grew kind of quickly. I stood there, wondering if it was going to blossom into a sneeze or go away. Hubby was still working with his end of the plastic, and just behind where we were working was a light bulb. The light was on, and I WANTED to sneeze so badly, so I looked over at the light. Then I looked away and looked back again at the light, and things intensified. I kind of stared towards where hubby was standing on the ladder, and my eyes watered, and for one quick second, I really thought the sneeze was going to leave me. I got lucky, felt a nice chill run down my spine, and got a special tingle all over as my head flopped forward with a small, "Eh-chush!" I sneezed into my left hand, because my right hand was still holding the plastic. I giggled and said, "Excuse me." My husband looked at me with a sly grin on his face and said, "Wow, nice." But then, he didn't really bless me after that, and that was a little bit disappointing. Oh well, it was really good to be able to sneeze naturally in front of him. Perhaps I'm one step closer to getting over my mental block! And I'm not exactly sure what caused me to sneeze in the first place. Maybe it was a mixture of the dust, cat hair, and whatever else was in the basement that we stirred up. I have no idea, but thank goodness I was able to get the sneeze out! I do find it totally ironic that during everyone's sneeze challenge, I have actually sneezed more times than some of the other people who are participating. Link to comment

Trillium
Wonderful obs, Sneesee! Glad you were able to encourage the sneeze along and get it out. Think about bottling whatever you swept up in your basement, huh? Might come in handy for future sneezes. Link to comment

I'm so glad you were able to get it out and to be able to do it in front of hubby. I am, however, very sad that hubby didn't bless you. Had that been me, I would have been like, "hey..........no bless you????????" Link to comment

I am, however, very sad that hubby didn't bless you. Had that been me, I would have been like, "hey..........no bless you????????" Aww, thanks guys! And, ya know, I didn't even really think about the fact that he didn't bless me until I was writing the observation, so I wasn't so quick to think on my feet and ask him for a bless you! I guess the fact that he acknowledged it in his own way should be enough. That's kind of how he is, he does things his own way. The fact that he said something after I sneezed is probably enough for him, even though it wasn't really a blessing, he did notice it, and said so. Ya know what I mean? Link to comment

I can't help it though.............I am VERY much about wanting to be blessed. I had to literally hammer it into my husband. But that's me, I'm just such the big mush. Link to comment

Aisha
ooh, how did I miss this one?? ...And you said "excuse me"!! I love the "excuse me" thing.... Sneesee, that was so CUTE, I'm now jealous of your hubby who got to listen to that rare and adorable sneeze in person!! And good for you for being one step closer to overcoming your mental block, I'm still completely struggling with mine. I know if I ever do manage to sneeze in front of R, I would really like him to say bless you as well. I can't even justify to myself why... I would just feel reeeely good if he said it, and make the experience that much better for me. But it was sweet the way your hubby acknowledged it in his own way. Can't wait for sneeze #6...
