juliette
This year I have been thinking to myself several times, "R. is sneezing more triples than he used to!" ... and now I finally have the graphs to prove it...However, first a wee obs. I have a fantabulous, really intimate obs of a huge triple sneeze from R., but I'm saving that for my first French obs so you'll have to wait (what a tease I am...!)The first triple of the year was on a day when R., P. (the colleague who I posted about that sneezed on the phone the other day) and I went to a local hotel for an off-site meeting. P. drove his car, and R. chose to come in my car with me When we got there, We both got out and R. sneezed three times! "HAAACHOOO!" "HUHTISHOO!" "HASHOOOOOO!" "Bless you!" said I, swooning, but I didn't call him darling or kiss him 'cos P. was there. But I thought, how unusual - and lovely - to see THREE sneezes in a row!!Anyway, below is my first graph, and you can see that the statistic confirm my gut feel - he is sneezing more triples this year!!! YAY!!!And if any statisticians out there can tell me how to calculate the exact probability of getting a second sneeze after the first one, I'd be most grateful.cyberhugsJuliette Link to comment
Sneesee
Wow, you really do take this seriously, don't you? I thought I was hardcore by writing down how many times my favorite guys' sneezed. I never even thought of graphing it out! I love seeing people's sneeze habits. It's one of the very best things about watching them. Thanks for being so thorough with R. Very cool! Link to comment
Aisha
Jeez louise!!!When you said you could make graphs about his sneezing I thought you were joking!!I'm an absolute walking distaster when it comes to anything mathematical, but isn't the probability (I'm guessing you meant for 2006) just 68%, as you wrote it? Even if I'm wrong, lucky you, it certanly seems like he sneezes more than once MOST times! It's very rare for my bf to sneeze more than a single, so again... lucky you!! Can I ask, for each year, how many occasions of sneezing did you record in total to make up the graphs? And also... (and I apologise in advance if I am putting my foot in my mouth!) didn't you say that R had a girlfriend and that you are married? I think I am getting confused because some of your obs are backstories and some are happening now... Link to comment
juliette
When you said you could make graphs about his sneezing I thought you were joking!!Good grief no! I wouldn't joke about something like that! I'm an absolute walking distaster when it comes to anything mathematical, but isn't the probability (I'm guessing you meant for 2006) just 68%, as you wrote it?Hmmm, I'm not sure. I will need to look into this!!! Can I ask, for each year, how many occasions of sneezing did you record in total to make up the graphs? Please do!! I am ALWAYS happy to answer questions about R's sneezing ... it is one of my favorite subjects in the world. See below.... didn't you say that R had a girlfriend and that you are married?Yeeesss... that's true. Isn't it terrible how obsessed I am with his sneezing when we are both committed to others? Comes with falling in love with someone you can't have... Thanks so much for the questions and stuff, it's great fun.cyberhugs,julietteP.S. Couple of comments about the graphs so far:1. Sometimes he sneezes in fours! For these instances, I have recorded it as TWO DOUBLES. I may at some stage revisit and re-analyse with Fours as a specific number rather than as two doubles.2. It looks very much as though R. is getting sneezier and sneezier with each passing year! I have no reason to think this is the case, it's just that each year we tend to spend more and more time together so I am able to collect more sneezes! Link to comment
atchoum
What a wonderful observation, and what wonderful graphs! I must admit I have almost as big a fetish about sneeze statistics as about sneezes! Link to comment

If you've ever read any of my obs from last year, about this time, you'll see that I also have a crush on someone and his sneezes. I've never really gotten over him, either, even though I am married. Rick
And if any statisticians out there can tell me how to calculate the exact probability of getting a second sneeze after the first one, I'd be most grateful.Unfortunately, stats isn't my specialism, but I have had a go at some probability stuff before. This is probably quite a challenge, though, as it's not simple events like sucessive tosses of a coin, for example, where each one is an independent event with the same probability each time. There must be some coupling (of events, calm down!) at work here, and I guess the probabilty of another sneeze must be a function of how many of what type have come before it etc. Hmm, fun!Btw, don't think I've ever seen spreadsheets etc on here before - SFF must be getting more professional!RIck Link to comment
countless
Juliette, you are really incredible !This makes me think of my days at middle school.Something I did at that time was ... keeping statistics on colds of fellow students and teachers. Even at that stage in life the fetish was present and gave me a good time ! It was my secret, as even at that time I knew I was 'special'.And - incredible - even today I still remember a lot of the details ... Link to comment

Some are for guys I know pretty well, and some are for famous people who I'll never meet in my life. Crushes are fun. And so are the R obs! Graphs? Statistical analysis? Damn, girl! You crack me up. I get crushes on other people too, and most of the time I tell R about them we have a giggle about it. I meant I was confused because sometimes the obs involve kissing and affectionate stuff, which made me think that you guys either A. used to be a couple or B. used to be with other people but are now a couple or C. are still with other people and are also dating eachother? I think I'm just too nosy curious for my own good, it wasn't meant to seem judgemental. I love how you are obsessed with his sneezing! Noting down 349 sneezes has seriously got to be a record... And I'm sorry to hear that you are in love with someone you can't have... Maybe he is in love with you too? Link to comment
RNAllergicgirl
Hahaha. This is funny. Reminds of when I was in grade 5, I made up a chart of everyone in my class and recorded every sneeze under their name. I even shared it with my classmates and they were interested in it! Link to comment
juliette
And I'm sorry to hear that you are in love with someone you can't have...Thank you Aisha ... It's a difficult situation, I think the best I can do to explain is to say that we're in love with each other, but both in committed relationships with others, whom we love dearly and to whom we incidentally have (at least in the very strictest sense) remained faithful to. cyberhugsjuliette Link to comment
atchoum
I've been looking through the statistics again and again. One thing that fascinates me is annual sneeze counts, and I was wondering what proportion of R's sneezes you actually see: a third ? a quarter ? Do you think he would go beyond 1000 a year ?You may have seen the thread on this :http://www.sneezefetishforum.org/forums/in...8&hl=annual Link to comment

Yes, I had read that thread with great interest.A couple of initial thoughts on this question... I would say I see significantly less than a quarter of his sneezes... so yes I'd be willing to bet he could break the 1,000 marker. On the other hand, his sneezes can be statistically significantly clumped (so for him, I don't think counting for a week and multiplying by 52 would be at all helpful) ... for example, I've had a couple of (longish) weekends away with him when he has sneezed only twice each time, and I've been with him pretty much 24X7 so I don't think I missed any ... whereas one day I was with him just for the day, not even into the evening, and he sneezed 5 times for no apparent reason. It's very mysterious and something I'd like to spend the rest of my life discovering the details of!I think the only solution is for me to live with him for a year, not let him out of my sight, and report back afterwards!!! cyberhugs, juliette Link to comment

juliette
I have updated the graphs monitoring the pattern of R's sneezing up to the end of this year (if he phones me and sneezes before midnight on New Year's eve I will have to update them! LOL!)Hope you enjoy! Link to comment
atchoum
Enjoy indeed! It is good to know that R is still sneezing very regularly.Just one slightly worrying trend - more singles and fewer triples. But these things vary over time - lets hope 2009 will see more triples. And the question I have never asked : are there never any more than three at a time ?All the best for 2009 to Juliette, R and their sneezes! Link to comment

Yes it is a bit worrying... however I believe that 2006 was an exceptional year for triples; on the whole he is a very reliable double-sneezer. Even when he sneezes a single, he usually looks really sneezy afterwards as though the second is on the way ... but occassionally it escapes him, which is always so disappointing! He has sneezed 4 times in a row, but only a handful of times. Usually they have been after the pattern of his doubles: "Achoo...Atishoo" ...wee pause ... "Achoo...Atishoo" - therefore I tend to think of them (and analyse them) as 2 x doubles rather than a quadruple. This has only happened a very few times though.I have never seen him sneeze more than that in a row. I often fantasize about seeing him have a real sneezing fit where he can't stop, but the problem is if he sneezes a couple of times and still feels sneezy, he blows his nose and makes it go away! Sometimes I long to tell him that his sneezes turn me on, to see if he will sneeze even more. But I love how innocent it is, and telling him could spoil that a bit. Link to comment

I do that too! If I really can't sneeze the last bit out, I resort to giving my nose a solid blow to get the rest of the tickles out - as I'm going to want to do a nose-blow afterwards anyway...Maybe you should playfully steal R's handkerchief from him - if he's anything like me, if he can't have a nose-blow, he can't stop! Wouldn't that be a lovely tease for you both? Link to comment
