army-girl Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Weeeeeeeeeeeell I don't know how your week is going sneezwise, but mine is madness (just how I like it) I can't keep track, I can't devote it the amount of attention I'd want to, but I still enjoy sneezes all around! this started as a sequel obs to My last Obs about A but then I remembered one more sneeze worthy of sharing from today so we'll make it a double feature!A and I were sitting together at the lecture hall of one of our Sociology courses, the problem with this time of year and big lecture halls is that the air conditioning is still set on cooling (which is mostly fine for me), which makes some individuals complain about freezing. Complaints aside, A was dressed today like we were living oh I dunno, in Siberia poor little muffin had a scarf and a cardigan over her shirt (which in our type of weather is considered "the works!"), I gather she was suffering from what I refer to as Air-Conditioning-Syndrome (for the sake of the argument, I was wearing 1 thin shirt with short sleeves, wide open neck cut and the only lecture hall I ever feel chilly in is the Psychology one which has a tendency to go to the extreme cooling or heating). Did the cold have much to do with anything? I don't know (but did it stop me from writing almost a paragraph about it? no) but there's something about a wintery appearance that I absolutely adore. So we're sitting together, occasionally exchanging comments, and A, she managed to surprise me with her sneeze (and not in the way she normally does , see previous obs). Instead of her usual perky self-surprising sneeze she let out a much softer breathy 'he'shoo' the intake was quite compared to the shoo, and she was definitely prepared for this one (shocker!), it was lower in pitch and strength than usually, but delicious in many other ways I blessed her after she sneezed, she hardly managed to whisper thanks and sneeze #2 followed, much of the same vibe, not a sneeze in a hurry to leave, a gentle fluffy "h'shoo" with a bit of a high pitch ending, but not enough to draw attention to itself, I blessed her again (bluntly grinning I'm sure) and she thanked me, then she continued to sniffle for almost the entire duration of the lecture, a little bit distracting but in the good way, I hate admitting this to myself (not to mention you lot) but I had a very long inner-dialogue about rather or not I should offer her a tissue (I couldn't do it, the reasonable time window was over and I was feeling all types of goofy about it, though the phrases "want a tissue hon?" and "need a tissue sweetheart?" kept popping to mind ).Now on a completely different note, the attention grabbing one this was terrific in a liberating sort of sense. A bunch of us were sitting at the lobby of the Psychology faculty building, it's a relatively new building with a pretty neat design, it's much like a ring - the building is hallow with a really tall ceiling (5 floors tall) and everything echoes in it. The lobby wasn't very busy, add to the normal echo effect in that space and you have everything magnified even more because it was relatively quiet. I didn't notice her before, but some girl (tall, lanky, long brown hair, didn't really get a closer look at her but I liked her general apperance) was standing across from where I was sitting with my friends when suddenly a loud and long "hayeeeerSHEW!" that resonated through the building bottom to top interrupted our and all over conversations, talk about echo it was fab! it was naturally loud but probably wouldn't have been enough to startle anyone.I think she sneezed uncovered (I wasn't looking at her at the time), but from the way she pulled back up from it, it was evident she was bent at least 90 degrees at her waist. She was actually sneezed away from the doorway she stood in front of (the hallway that leads to the administration offices) to the general direction of the lobby. The pleased smile on her face was worth a million bucks she definitely earned a thumb up from me.
