Armor.
At this point and time, in the middle of winter, there was only one person stupid enough to go out in the cold and start running. Training, rather, for cross country and track, which both, started in the spring.Casey was toned, but not muscular. A runner's body. He was about 5' 7'' with blonde and and blue eyes. He had been running ever since he was a little kid, about 9 or 10, and had been doing it ever since. Why he had been running on this day, easily the coldest day of the month, was beyond anyone. The sky was gray and gloomy, while the temperature was cold, even colder with the windchill, reaching to at least -15. There was ice in the streets, and the rain was drizzling down, ready to freeze more ice. The cold air hurt his throat and lungs, but he continued to run anyway, thinking if he could run in this, he could run in anything. He was careful with this steps, carefully turning around each corner, and avoiding ice as much as possible. He listened to his breathing, making it regular and deep, looking at his watch in regular intervals, timing his running.2.5 miles and ten minutes later, after running a huge circle around his neighborhood, he decided it was time for him to get started with his day. He walked up his front steps of his house, not wanting to run anymore, unlocked the door and walked into the warmth of the house. His parents were gone for the weekend, and he had the house to himself, which was extremely lonely.Casey started a fire, warming his body. Once he decided that he was thawed out, he got up and got himself some breakfast; a cup of yogurt and an apple. He returned to the fireplace, grabbing the phone and dialing. She answered in two rings. "Hello?"Casey's heart skipped a beat with the sound of his girlfriend's voice. They had been dating for over a year now, and he thought that he couldn't have it any better. She was everything to him, sweet, caring, loving. He would do anything for her."Hey Olivia," he said "What're you doing?"She yawned, "Waking up still. I'm not like you, I don't get up during outrageous times to run. How're you doing? Did you have a nice jog?"Casey coughed into his sleeve. "Yeah. It was cold, though.""I see," began Olivia, "So. No parents. Plans today?" She giggled.Casey smiled, "Nooope. When're you coming over?""When do you want me to?""Right away! The sooner I see you...the..be...bett...Heh....ACHOO! *sniff* Ugh. The better." Casey found a tissue and blew his nose."Bless you. You ok?""Yeah, it's these damn allergies. Ugh, I hate cats." Casey sniffed."Okay, well. Let me take a shower and I'll be on my way over. I love you, bye" Olivia hung up.Casey put down the phone and coughed into his fist, went into the bathroom, undressed out of his sweaty clothes and got into a hot, steamy shower. He washed his face and body before he shampooed his hair. He got out, dried himself off, went to his room and found some clean clothes. When he was satisified with how he looked and smelled, he went downstairs to go on the computer. He sat down in the chair in front of the computer and groaned. On the monitor, there a sticky note:Feed the cats!Casey got up, and dragged himself to the kitchen. He opened a cupboard below the sink, took out some cat food, and poured his cats more. They were all gathered his feet, waiting for their food. He had forgotten to feed them yesterday. Casey pinched his nose and put the bowl on the floor. After he filled their water bowl, he decided that was enough interaction with the cats for one day, and headed back toward the computer. He sat back down in the chair, ripping the note off the monitor and throwing it out. He sniffed, feeling the tickle brewing in the back of his nose. He closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. He heard the door open and close behind him. He turned around, seeing Olivia standing there smiling. She was about five feet tall with blonde hair and blue eyes, just like Casey. They could have passed for being brother and sister. "Hey." She smiled coming over to give Casey a kiss."Hey," Casey said, getting up and giving her a kiss on her warm lips, "I missed you..." He coughed into his fist."I missed you too. I've been so fed up with the people at work lately and all the stress from school, you're such a sight for sore-""HEHCHOOO!" Casey sneezed into the back of his wrist. When he was sure he wasn't going to sneeze again, he lowered his hand and gave Olivia an apologetic look. "Allergies," he answered the look on her face, "really getting to me." He coughed into his elbow."Bless you. Did you take your allergy medicine?" Olivia went to the refrigerator and got herself a bottle of water."Yeah," Casey replied, "That's what I don't get..."Olivia returned to the living room and sat next to Casey. "Oh well," she said shrugging, "maybe it's just a bad allergy day. Let's play a game."Casey laughed, "What game?""I don't know. I feel like a board game. Like Monopoly or something.""Then Monopoly it is!" Casey replied, getting up off the couch to go upstairs and find the board game.Casey opened the door to his room and coughed violently into his hand. "Ugh," He thought to himself, "Not now..."He opened his closet and dug around in the shelved until he found what he was looking for. Taking the board game, he went downstairs back to his girlfriend, coughing into his elbow."What's wrong?" Olivia asked.Casey put the game down and breathed heavily, "I'm having an asthma attack..." He wheezed. Link to comment

Natto
Wow, this is making me mad at his parents! Asthma can be life-threatening, and so it's really irresponsible of his parents to keep cats knowing that he has this problem and that that's going to set him off. D: Good story, though.
