chui
last night, my mom called me. when i saw her name on caller id, i picked the phone up and said hi, waiting for her to say something. all i heard was her breathing, and it sounded like she was crying, her breath was hitching and uneven. immediately i thought someone must have just died and she was calling to tell me (i know that seems morbid, but its happened quite a few times, so i kinda expect it now) but then.... it happened.....*hitch* *hitch*huh'ishhhuh!mom: hi...sorry about that.....me: *runs flailing about the house like an idiot screaming EWWWWWWWW!!!!! at the top of my lungs*(ok...so i didnt do that last part....but sheesh!!!!! i did flail abit)*flails more just thinking about it*this was so not on the list of things i wanted to hear on the phone last night.....i think i might be scarred for life..... *exit the melodrama* Link to comment
The Mute Poet
(Rubs flail-mark on his head) Ow. In all seriousness though, I feel your pain - family sneezing sucks... my mom has seasonal allergies (shudders).Maybe we could start a recovery group or something? Link to comment
chui
sorry about the random flailing....i promise its unintentional..... and yus....we do need a recovery group....hmm...what would we call it....im actually afraid to call my mom right now....what if it happens again.... (i know...totally irrational, but still......) Link to comment
Guest kayyy.
Ugh..I feel your pain. Do you know how badly I hate family sneezing? And they call me on it if I don't bless them. Link to comment
Guest Callmecrazy
Ohhh man I'm so sorry, chui!!! Sooo awkward..... I hate family sneezing. Link to comment
Blah!?
To me (an outsider, ooooooo...) that sounds cute, but I would have had the same reaction if it was my mom. I'm the only one in my immediate family who doesn't have allergies, so I spend quite a lot of time flailing over it. And I just HATE it when they talk about it (even just saying "sorry") it's so weird! And what's even weirder is that no one else thinks it is! Link to comment
The Mute Poet
SFADLCFS - Sneeze Fetishists Against Disgusting Life-Crippling Family Sneezing - that's what we should call it (immediately opens suggestions box for a shorter name). The bruise is healing nicely, though a nice cheesecake poultice might help (they're edible, you know). And as for calling her again... I say if you get more than 3 seconds of silence again, just hang it up right there haha... Link to comment

chui
gah.... my family sneezes ALL the time..... everyone in it seems to be a 5-10 per day kinda person..... i spend a lot of time cringing when im around them. i dont live with my parents anymore, but i stay with my aunt right now, while im finishing gradschool (*grumbles about tiny stipend and rules about no outside jobs*) she sneezes at least 3 times in a row...about three times a day. ive counted her at up to 9 in a row, and this is all perfectly normal for her. *whispers* she knows about my fetish too.... yus...ok....ill stop ranting now.... *flee* Link to comment
The Mute Poet
Nicely done, Vetinari, of course FROG is what I meant all along... heh... It's definitely worthy of legitimisation though, (puts on proclamation hat) henceforce, all traumatic family sneezing episodes will be known as "FROGS" and we will all vow to support eachother in our desperate times of need. (Begins production of FROG hats, t-shirts, mugs...)But wow, chui, you really do sound like you have a tough time of it... I mean, at least 9 a day is rough, I'm lucky I got out of the house and don't have to endure the wrongness anymore... I've always likened it to a rusty metal rod being jammed into the gears of your sex drive... (shudders) Link to comment
JellyBelly
I'm all for FROG!I think FROG should provide all members with courtesy ipods and ear muffs for maximum blockout of family sneezes! Link to comment
chui
i NEED FROG earmuffs!!!!! right now...*desperately* Link to comment
Chanel_no5
Why don't we try a sort of "exchange"? I mean, everyone's family members sneezing freaks us out, so... if my mom catches a cold and someone else's mom has allergies, we change lives for a while? Nah, don't listen to me, I'm too hard on the Coke. The drink! The Coca-Cola! Edited March 29, 2008 by Chanel_no5 Link to comment
