Jazz
So, like I had said earlier, I went to go visit my friend 'D' today. Needless to say, I was extremely excited. He might just have the most adorable sneezes I've ever heard. But anyway, I walked over to his house today and went to see him. Both of his parents were at work and I forgot the key I had to their house. I was standing outside of his door for about ten minutes before D finally came to the door to open it for me. He looked pitiful. His eyes were bloodshot and he looked tired, his rosy nose was runny, and his cheeks were flushed. Basically, he looked like he'd been hit by a semi. I resisted the urge to break down and tackle-hug him right there. I'm a sucker for that weak look from sick guys. Hah, I don't think I've ever admitted that before..."Jesus, D, you look horrible!" That has to be one of the biggest lies I've ever told. Personally, I thought he looked adorable."Thanks, Mikes," he said sarcastically. The sudden talking must have triggered a tickle in his nose because he started rubbing at it with the back of his hand, and he closed his eyes. "One se- heh....hehhEKshhhh! Ihkshhhh!" The first two were unstifled; loose, wet sneezes aimed over his shoulder. The spray dappled his kitchen counter and I stepped back a little bit to give him some space. His eyes were still closed as his hand felt around for a napkin or something to cover his mouth. Before he could, the urge to sneeze washed over him yet again. Except this time, he pinched his nose shut tightly to stifle them. "hehNgggh! huhMphhh! hehMGhhhh!""You know stifling's bad for you, right? I heard you could get an aneurism or something doing that." He just shrugged and rubbed at his eyes with one of his hands, sniffling slightly. "Think maybe you should get some sleep?" I asked him. He nodded slowly, I could tell he was exhausted.I was walking toward his living room, him right behind me when I heard him sneeze again. Except, this time I didn't just hear it, I felt it. The sneezes felt strong from behind me, they weren't stifled (I see he took my suggestion) and I could feel the wetness from it on the back of my neck. "ihhKtshhh! ehhKTchhh! ihhtch! ehhhktCHUH!" I heard a wet, congested sniffle and a muffled cough before he started to walk toward the living room again. We settled in on his couch to watch movies, something we usually did over spring break. It was rainy out, anyway. He was laying down on the couch, head in my lap and half-asleep when I noticed his nose start to twitch again. The tissues were sitting next to me on the table so he couldn't reach them. I grabbed a few and held them against the lower half of his face. Sure enough, a sneezing fit was triggered. "heh-Ehhhshhh! ihhhChishuhhh! hehIhshhhhh! ehhChishhhh!" Just like before, he barely had time to take a breath. They were all rapidfire sneezes and his hand gripped the tissue I was holding in place for him, sitting up and beginning the process again. "ihhh-Uhhshhhh! ihhhCHeshhhhh!" Let me tell you, holding a tissue for someone when they sneeze might just be one of the best things ever. I almost died and went to heaven. "Jeez, D, you ok?" He nodded, blowing his nose and resuming his previous position to finish the movie. And that was only about half our day together.Oh, and for anyone who wants to know: Septum piercings are bad when you're sneezing alot. D figured that out the hard way. He had to take his out. Edited March 30, 2008 by chui fixed italics ;) Link to comment
