Morning train (F)

To quote a dear friend: "All the best on-topicness happens on trains"

This morning was no exception.

On the train I saw a girl with long, brown hair who looked like she was coming down with something. Her face had a very reddish shade to it, diffused evenly over her forehead, cheeks and nose and her eyes looked tired. During the short time we were on the train together, she sneezed four times.

The first one was stifled into near-silence after an attempt to hold it back by putting her index finger under her nose. The sneezy look never left her face and said index finger hovered against the tip of her nose while her head slowly tilted backwards, only for it to snap forward again in an absolutely silent stifle, her finger back in place again. She then proceeded to wave her hand under her nose, looking about to sneeze yet again but she managed to refrain this time (though it looked as if it were only barely) and sniffled a few times.

When we neared the last station, the girl got in line in front of me and I heard two fairly desperate-sounding, harsh sneezes. As the first two had been stifled I didn't recognise it was her immediately, but at the second sneeze it became very clear as her head snapped forward and she sniffled a lot afterwards, turning her head so that I could see part of her face... until the crowd started moving and I lost sight of her.

@Chanel: It was. ^^ Suddenly standing in the aisle as there were no available seats was absolutely no bother at all anymore. (Except for the bit where it was my turn to sneeze, as well... rather difficult to hide standing in the middle of a carriage. )

@Hankysneeze: Yeah, for some reason a rather high percentage of my obs takes place during that reasonably short part of my commute.
