Places where you're most likely to catch someone sneeze?

I've always wondered what the top places are to have the best chance at seeing, or at least hearing someone sneeze...

You would figure school (since it's a common place for people to get sick a lot;) however, some people can't go to a school because they don't go anymore! Also, there's outdoor places like a park (which there could be a good amount of pollen, trees, flowers in;) but how often do we go to a park? The only other place I could think of is certain stores in a mall such as Bath & Body works which has a lot of scents, or Hollister (where the employees spray tons of scents in the air/on the clothes.) I actually saw an employee sneeze at Hollister due to how scenty the store is!

So if you could think of any/come up with some places where you are bound to catch someone sneeze at, or places you've seen some sneezing take place, that would be great, so then we can know where we have a good chance at catching some sneezes! =)

I've had some nice observations at floral shops - not from my preferred gender though, but still.

There is this universety with a lot of females students(nurse etc). Always when I go there I will be rewarded with some fine sneezes. Not really good for my own studying :(

Anywhere with high numbers of people, really.

Public transport is always a good bet. Lots of people, close proximity so it's hard to miss a sneeze if one happens, difficult or impossible for people to hide it if they sneeze. Planes in particular also generally have pretty low air quality which leads to a higher likelihood of sneezing.

Doctor's offices are probably a good place as well, but most people are less likely to end up there on a regular basis.

As Ouroboros says, places with many people. Public transport, train stations, airports and bus stops.

As for where I hear most sneezes... My school, hands down. We're around 90 people in a somewhat confined space and frankly, the ventilation isn't that good. When there are bugs going around, there is almost a sneeze a minute there and I hear many a day every day even when it's not - surprisingly many of them are good as well.

Some of my best obs have occurred in supermarkets! Ouroboros is right - anywhere where you have got a lot of people altogether. Especially good if people are expected to be quiet, like in a busy public library for example... :D

Hands down I'd say my school library (though this probably goes for most libraries). Every single time I'm in there I always end up hearing at least one really good female sneeze within ten minutes, to say nothing of all the non-preferred ones. Think about it... thousands of books that nobody every opens just sitting there collecting dust, probably never adequately cleaned, the slight yet pervasive smell of old book, and maybe a bit of mold... It just never fails. :D

Same as what most people have said - places with many people. When I go skiing and when I'm in class with 100+ people it happens rather often. When I'm taking tests I'm like "Please, be quiet and stop interrupting my thinking lD". xD;

Shopping malls... *devilish grin* I like to take a day off in late spring, and go to the shopping mall just to hang around, and sure enough, once you've made sure the pollen count is going to be on the high side that day, there might be quite a lot to see... :D

I must say I go to the park quite often, I live 10 minutes from about for different parks and me being a huge nature child I utilize that quite often. However I don't hear much sneezing there, I guess people who have allergies tend to avoid it, such a shame :P

I hear a good bit at my job at the pet store, many people there have allergies, and I'm around them for several hours at a time. I went to the zoo Sunday and there was lots of sneezing going on there. Like everyone else has said, anywhere were there are lots of people is usually good

Yep, due to seriously poor planning, I tend to have to visit my local supermarket frequently for a few essentials at a time, rather than making one big trip for everything. Is it crazy that I almost always take a more deliberate stroll than necessary through the aisle with cold and flu remedies?

With libraries, I always found those to be good for sneeze sightings during final exam week. It seemed like during that time there were always people there who, though they'd otherwise be home in bed, were attempting to tough out sneeze-riddled cramming sessions at the last minute.

anywhere on campus is good.. especially in classes or the library

if you DONT go to school you could try a church that has a high number of people.. mine had 500+ (when i used to go) so youd get a good one every few minutes :blushing:

I'll add "public pool" to this list. I remember going as a kid and it always seemed like someone would sneeze every time I went. I think it probably has something to do with the chlorine in the water irritating and drying out the insides of people's noses. And it's probably better if it's an indoor pool, those are always much more chlorine-smelling and muggy.

Offices are a good place too.. I have been working in different companies from last 8 years and get to hear so many sneezes. and in multinational organisations the temperatures keep fluctuating as the a/c temperature keeps changing during the day which causes people to sneeze. Also if you get a couple of sneezy people around ur workstation or if someone has caught a cold, then for next 9 hours, 5 times a week its quite a treat!! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
