Serious Sneeze cold (M)

I've had some great success fighting off colds this year (knock on wood). Feel a scratchy throat and I grab Zicam and it's gone with a good night's sleep.

Not this time...Jeez- I've just caught the mother of all nose colds. My throat is sore but from sneezing 5 times an hour since 4am when I woke up in a snotty filled mess. Nothing to blow yet...but I'm clogged and each sneeze clogs me further. Quick, with little warning and wet.

I'b a bess!

Now this will play out like all of my colds. I'll sneeze all day (more today than I can remember...which means I'm in for a major phaise 2) THE DOZE BLOWIG. Like I've mentioned...I'm a horn honker. I blow very rarely- but when i get socked in good- i let em out with a thunderous honk. Tomorrow is the beginning of the blow phase...mostly wet- followed Friday by what will likely be the honky viscous phase/

And of course...the red nose chapped phase on Saturday.

Jeez...I'm not like so many here- not really into my own blowing or sneezing. Glad it appeals to others though and will share as this sucker progresses.

Bless you for all your cold sneezes, I as well have a cold, but mine is a chest cold. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for all the caring responses. Well, by way of an update...my nose is acting like clock-work with the sneezing subsiding a bit- now shifting the blow phase.

Not to say I'm not sneezing...just not like yesterday when I was literally in a constant ichy stage. My nose was on fire and I'd sneeze in sudden singles. This is my typical cold behavior as I usually sneeze in doubles in by day2day. These are abrupt, powerful and oddly satisfying thanks to moments of nasal clarity. After a sneeze...the itch is gone and I feel some looseness to the muck. I blow and sadly, it's backs up again and I feel like a stuffed tomato.

Today...I woke to a sneeze and massive bathroom blow into TP. I'm already feeling chapped under my left nostril and am quite honky after the initial swishy wetness. The honks are incredibly loud and necessary to get through the mire.

I'm really feeling miserable now...blowing every 15 minutes into the softest thing I can find. Honestly, I can't bring myself to buy tissues...just too embarrassing for me. After all, I'm the sneeze/blow stalker at the market who follows the red nosed lady around and joys at her placing box after box into her cart. I'm a nice stalker BTW...no funny biz, I assure;-) Needless to say...the idea of being THAT person is hard for me.

Nor do I feel good about blowing in my house with my family around. I huddle in the bathroom like a little mouse...flush the can, turn on the water and blow like a tuba.

This will be quite the cold...already is. Can only imagine what my nose is gonna look like in 3 days.

Awwr, that is so cute! I know what you mean though, I always feel kind of embarrassed buying tissues too, haha. Or just being sick in general, because I enjoy it so much when anybody else is sick... Anyway, great obs, I really have enjoyed what you've written so far.

blowhonkblow - Nice obs.. I hope you're feeling better. ;)

Thanks for asking, Mims

Stuck in the longest blow phase of any cold I've had in years. You know...the long drawn out honks that fill 3 tissues. I just never knew a horn could make so much snot...I'm stopped up like a drain at a hair salon and red as a stuffed tomato. My nostrils are SOOO SORE.

Sadly...the sneezes are all but gone...I feel fine- just blowing like a mad man.
