Sneezing Ezine!

You know the ezine "The Sneeze?" If you have ever looked at it, you know that it's not really about sneezing. Which got me thinking... why isn't there an ezine about sneezing? So I decided that I should make one!

It's a special sneezing ezine: The SNEEZINE! (It's technically a webzine, but I won't tell if you won't )

I already have some of the site done and it's very much under construction, so a lot of it is still non-functional, but it should give you a general idea of what it will look like: www.sneezine.000a.biz

As excited as I am about this, there's no way I can do it without readers submitting new content! I would like to know who would be interested in reading and writing for this webzine. If there's not enough interest, there's no use continuing with the project. Here is a description of the different sections the zine would offer, and which you would get a chance to submit content for. Let me know if you'd like any added or taken away.

This Month in Sneezes

This is sort of like the "sneeze news" section. It will describe what is going on with sneezes right now: whether people's allergies are acting up, whether colds are still going around, what kind of effect the weather is having, etc.

Sneezers in Focus

This is the section where I will need the most help. It's kind of like a fetishist bio section. Readers will submit their experience with sneezes and the sneeze fetish. They can tell about their history with the fetish, what kind of sneezes they enjoy, any significant experiences they have had, etc. Each month's issue would feature a different bio.

The Breakdown

This is kind of a cool idea I had. The Breakdown does not examine sneezing or the sneeze fetish as a whole, but breaks down the individual parts of each. For example, one month's article might go into detail about breath hitching, the next month might go into pre-sneeze expressions, the next might discuss one of the many ways to release, etc. The section can get even more detailed, too. It might specifically describe the use of the sound "tsch" in a sneeze or the different things that the eyebrows do during a sneeze.

Sneeze Sightings

As much as it sounds like it's a section for obs, it's not; there is a different section for observations. So what's the difference between a sneeze sighting and an obs? Mostly presentation. "Obs" has come to mean a detailed description of the sneeze observed. This is not the case with a sneeze sighting. In a sneeze sighting, the focus is the setting, not the sneeze itself. Sometimes the best part of a sneeze is where and when it happened or who it came from. This is a section where readers could send in an experience such as someone who sneezed loudly during a silent moment in a movie or the first time they sneezed during a phone call.

Sneeze Slideshow

A section for sneeze pictures. What makes this special is that each month could have a theme, such as pre-sneeze expressions, women who cover their sneezes, or anime characters sneezing. The slideshow would feature just that type of picture.

Observations

This is a section for obs, just like you would find on the site.

Stories

This section would feature a new fiction story every month.

Video

A section for sneezing video. One or two videos would be featured each month based on reader suggestions.

I like the concept & I do think a concept like this will work, just not this way. It would probably be better to create a magazine based on forums, youtube and other stuff. If you need help for building a proper free website, please contact me.

I think this is a pretty good idea. It'll probably be easier for me to understand once you actually get it up and running and I can see how each section will actually play out. I like the Breakdown but instead of being its own section, would it just play out throughout the entire issue? Like if it's a breakdown of one aspect (ie, nostril flaring), maybe it could just focus on that one aspect using obs and stories where a lot of nostril flaring occurs?

I think the "This Month in Sneezing" and the "Sneezers in Focus" sections are really good ideas! There are so many people who like so many different aspects of the fetish (some like messy and some don't, some like single sneezes and others like fits) that featuring bios would help members find others with the same interests.

I like this idea as well, having each issue focus on a specific aspect of sneezing, like a whole article where the different sections all focus on nostril flaring. There could be a main article in the breakdown section talking about what it might be that makes so many of us love nostril flaring and then the other sections would relate. You could send out a notification that the next issue is going to be about nostril flaring and ask readers to submit stories, observations, sightings, photos, videos, etc about nostril flaring.

Cool idea! My advice: release early, release often

It's better to have a basic, but functioning site to start with than to keep adding bells and whistles until you lose courage and give up.

Two suggestions, if I may First, to me the Sneeze Sightings sounds like a good title to use for a section dedicated to celebrity-specific videos/stories/obs/etc. Whereas you could also keep the obs section too.

Also, the Stories section idea is really good, but depending on how much space you have, they might need to be really short. But if instead you did a running story with new installments each issue? I think that could potentially be awesome As long as you had some reliable and interesting writer lol. It's how Dickens got A Tale of Two Cities published, albeit it was in a newspaper.

Can't wait to see where this is headed!

A few updates. First of all, I've finally set up a subdomain. You can now access the site through the URL sneezine.co.cc. I've updated the poll in the sidebar; results are now viewable instantly. I've also added a section:

Sneezes and Giggles

This is a section for sneezing comics! I'd love to have some contributions here. Otherwise, it will just end up being webfinds. Not that that's a problem, of course, but I think original content is always better.

I was wondering if any of us old farts would recognize the concept. It was a great idea then and it still is. I wish I still had a copy to give him for inspiration. Has it really been 15 years? That's downright scary!
