My new story, hope you guys like it.

PART 1

Jennifer sat and held her three week old baby girl, as she watched her best friend and her friend’s groom dance across the dance-floor. It has been a gorgeous wedding ceremony. Not more beautiful than her own had been though.

Little Jane began to cry an Jennifer tried to get her settled down. She couldn’t leave the building, for it was early spring and the flowers from the wedding had already started to make her allergies crazy, but alas, Jane did not quiet done and that left Jennifer with no choice but to endeavor outside to settle the child down.

Embarrassed, Jennifer pulled Jane’s blanket closer around the baby and prepared to endure the torture that would soon come. The minute Jennifer walked out into the cool air and took in the first pollen filled breath of air. Her nose started to flare and her breath started to hitch. Etsssiew! etssciew! Eessciew!

She lifted her left wrist to cover her sneezes and she held Jane in her right arm. Jane had quieted down and fallen asleep already and as Jennifer turned to go back inside she say her friend Lilly, the bride approaching her.

“Bless you! Michael and I’ve been looking for you. He wanted to thank you for all the help with the wedding last week when I was sick.” Lilly looked at Jennifer for a moment.

“Could you p...phih...please take Jane for a second.” She rushed the last bit of her sentence and carefully handed Jane to Lilly before she turned away and sneezed Etssciew! Etssciew! Etssciew! EtssCIEW!

“Bless you again. What are you doing outside?”

“Dane, grew bussy.” The congestion in Jennifer’s voice caused her to get self-conscious yet again. Today had been hard enough without her allergies.

“How are you still handling today?” Lilly asked as she rocked Jane back and forth. Jennifer hated how her friend had noticed, she’d tried so hard not to let the memories overwhelm her today...Life moves on, whether you’re ready for it to or not.

“Don’t worry about me today! It’s your wedding day, go back and enjoy your husband.” Jennifer smiled and took Jane back as the two life long friend’s walked back inside.

Jennifer’s Mom had taken Jane home, while the rest of the wedding party cleaned up the reception area. Jennifer went to grab a table cloth off the table and as she turned around to fold it up, she turned right into the best man...who happened to have some of the flower arrangements in his arms.

Jennifer had fallen back on the floor from the force of the collision, but to her dismay in his attempt to rescue her, he’d let go of the flowers. The covered on the floor. Some on her dress, some in her hair, and like the typical cliche cartoons, one landed just on top of her nose...

She didn’t have time to take a breath. Her eyes began to burn and at the tip of her nose the tickle that had been there all day, grew so intense it threw her into such a rapid fire fit. Eccssiew! Essciew! eSSCiew!! EssCIEW! Essciew! Esciew! Esciew! Esciew! Esciew! Uhhh...

“I’m so sorry.” He helped her to her feet and guided her to a chair.

“Dank you, I’b alright.” Jennifer blew her nose into the handkerchief that he’d handed her, but it didn’t do much good except make a disgusting gurgley sound. She rubbed at her swollen red eyes to try and get rid of the awful itch. “I’b Jendifer, by the way.”

“Well, it’s nice to get the chance to talk to you Jennifer. I’m Bryan.” He went back to help clean up, but I couldn’t move. His eyes were gorgeous. She hadn’t seen eyes that gorgeous since the last moment she had with Eric, and even now the memories had faded

Jennifer went back into the reception area to finish cleaning up, when Bryan approached her again. All of the sudden, she had butterflies in her stomach and didn’t know why.

“Would you like to go get some coffee with me? I know its already late, but I’d love to make up for ruining your night.” He looked a little nervous, but no more than Jennifer did.

“I’d love to, but my Mom is watching my daughter and if I’m not home when she wakes up in 20 minutes to eat, my mother will flip out.” Jennifer pulled out a tissue from her pocket. Ever since he’d walked over her nose had started to tickle again. Etsciew! Single, that was a good sign.

“Well then, maybe another night with week then.” He smiled and Jennifer began to concoct a plan to go out with him.

“We can go tonight, I’ll go home feed Jane, then we’ll have about 3 hours to enjoy coffee before I’ll need to be home again.” Jennifer wrote her number on an unused napkin and handed it to him.

The minute she climbed into her car guilt overwhelmed her. Eric had only been killed 7 months ago.

She went home and talked to her mom about it. To Jennifer’s surprise her Mom encouraged her to go out, so she went up stairs showered took come Benedryl. Pulled on a really nice top and dark jeans. She didn’t bother with make up considering her eyes were still watery from the allergies. Then she fe Jade and waited for Bryan to pick her up.

Sorry It's a really long chapter, but I hope you guys enjoy it.

Part 2

Bryan knocked on the door and Jennifer felt her heart race as she opened the door. He looked even more handsome now that she could clearly see. His pleasant sun tanned skin, his charming blue eyes, he had the build of a military man, muscular and in shape.

He escorted Jennifer to the car and the minute she sat down in the car, the inside of her nose started to burn and prickle, her breath began to hitch in gasps for breath, and her eyes had started to flutter shut. Not now...She couldn’t sneeze now. With no other option Jennifer turned to the side and pinched her nose in effort to stop the sneeze, but she had attempted to stop it too late. The sneeze had already committed itself to coming out. Escngxt! She stifled it, which only caused the immediate reaction of her nose to release more sneezes to rid itself of the allergens.

Esssciew! Essciew! ESSCiew! Essciew! EssCIEW! eSSCIew!

Her head pounded from the pressure that built behind her eyes, due to her stifle and then continued fit. Jennifer had almost forgotten that she sat in Bryan’s car. She hadn’t noticed him start to drive off towards the coffee shop.

“Bless you, I’m sorry. I was trying to be a gentleman and take you out, but I should have suggested we take your car. I was in charge of picking up and dropping off all the flower arrangements from the wedding today.” Bryan handed her a tissue box that he must have kept in his car. Why did a man like Bryan need tissues in his car? Did he have allergies too? It sure didn’t seem like it.

“It’s all right, I took some Benedryl and antihistamines before we left. They should start working very soon.” Jennifer dabbed at her sore nose with the tissues.

“It doesn’t bother me, I just hate seeing anyone miserable. No offense, but you look fairly miserable.” He had a playful smile on his face.

“I didn’t realize we’d hit that point in our friendship where we can joke.” Jennifer played back. He made her laugh, and she liked that.

“Oh we’ve reached that point for sure.” He let out a laugh and Jennifer did as well, but interrupted before she could speak again her nose had other ideas. ESSCIEW! The sneeze snuck up on her, she didn’t have time to cover the sneeze before it erupted from her body. She could see the spray hit the windshield in front of her and the dashboard.

“I’m so sorry.” Jennifer grabbed a tissue to clean herself up and to hide the redness in her cheeks.

He laughed and pulled into the parking lot at the small little coffee shop. “Don’t worry about it.”

Instead of coffee Jennifer just grabbed some hot tea. Hadn’t had any coffee since she’d become pregnant with Jade and had made the decision she didn’t want to rely on coffee anymore, for no other reason other than she just didn’t want to, and the hot tea would help soothe the soreness in her throat that had just recently settled.

“Tell me about yourself.” He asked as thy sat down next to each other on a black sofa couch in the shop.

“What do you want to know?”Jennifer sat in the corner of the couch and face him. He at in the center next to her.

“Well, first tell me about Jade.” He took a sip of his coffee and stared at her with a look that let her know. He wanted to get to know her, and everything about her. The thing that scared her was so did she.

“She’s 3 weeks old and beautiful. She looks like her father, and thank goodness she’s a sleeper. She already sleeps most of the night. Her last feeding is at midnight and she doesn’t wake up till 6:30 the next morning. She’s a very happy and content baby.”

“Sounds like such a blessing.”

“She is. She gave me a hard pregnancy though. I spent 7 out of 8 months pregnant with her in the hospital due to the sickness. She was 6 weeks early.” Jennifer smiled and thought back, she knew she wouldn’t trade it for the world.

“That must have been really hard.”

“It’s wasn’t fun that’s for sure.”

“I didn’t mean the sickness, being alone must have been hard.” He looked at his coffee.

“It was, but my parents were there the whole time, and so were Eric’s parents. They were a huge help. I don’t think either of us would have made it through without their prayers and help.” Jennifer took a sip of tea and winced as she swallowed it, but she wrote it off as nothing and forced herself back into the present conversation.

“I’m sorry, but I somewhat can relate. I have a three years old son. He’s staying with his grandparents tonight. His Mom died in a car accident 2 weeks after he was born.”

Jennifer touch his arm as a sign of compassion, but just as she opened her mouth to give her condolences her nose decided the time had come to relieve itself of that pestering itch. Her sinuses began to buzz and she tried to breathe through her nose.

“Are you okay?” He asked as he scooted a little closer to see if she had started to choke or not.

“I’m...hih...gonna sn... EccsIEW! EsscieW! EsscIEW! Escc’ciciew!” She released the sneezes into the crease of her elbow. “Escube be.” Her nose had become so congested. “I dob’t kbow why I’b still sbeezigg.”

He handed her a tissues and grateful, Jennifer blew her nose and to her relief she could clear some of it out. “Usually no matter how bad my allergies are, after I take Benedryl and antihistamines the sneezing stops, unless...” Her throat had become sore, and Lilly had been horribly sick last week with a debilitating cold, which ended up leaving Jennifer feeling run down the last week.

“Unless what?” Bryan looked at her. His look of curiosity put a smile on her face. He was so handsome.

“Unless I have a cold, for some reason it doesn’t work when I’m coming down with something.” Jennifer sighed, it’d been such a great dinner, but she’d been down this road with Lilly, tomorrow she’d wake up miserable and even then it wouldn’t even be the worst of the cold.

“We should get you home then.” He smiled and as he stood up he offered his hand to help me up.

“Thank you, sorry we weren’t here for very long.”

“That’s alright, It’s been a very enjoyable coffee. We should plan one for next week, if you’re feeling better. Would you mind if I called you at some point”

“Not at all.” Such a considerate man was he. It made Jennifer’s stomach turn with butterflies of excitement, and she couldn’t even call Lilly to talk about it! Well back to reality.

Bryan drove Jennifer home and as soon as she entered the house she fed Jade and climbed into bed. Sleep claimed her within seconds.

Haha, sorry this one is short. I wanted to give and update on the story, but couldn't really concentrate on writing tonight. Hope you guys like it.

Part 3

Jennifer bolted awake to the screams of her alarm clock at 6:30 am. First thing she noticed wasn’t how tired she still felt after sleep, but how raw her throat felt. Her nose was stuffed up and clogged up. Jennifer tried to sniff, but to no prevail. Her head pounded and she just felt utter miserable.

She went to the living room, grabbed a box of tissues, and the climbed back into her bed and buried herself under her blankets. The tickle returned to her nose, but too tired and achy to move she didn’t turn to grab a tissues out of the tissue box.

She tried to coax it out as she brushed her fingers across the tip of her nose. A harsh fit had her sneezing into her pillow. Esscciew! Ecccsss! Etch! Etchshhhh! Eetchshihh! Etch’shihh!

She’d definitely caught Lilly’s cold. Her allergy sneezes were never wet. She sat up and blew her nose, which set her off in another fit. Et’chishihh! Etchshih! Etchshi’hhhh! She blew her nose again and flopped back into her haven.

She heard her mom answer the door and come in.

“Are you okay, Jenny? I could hear you sneezing all the way in the kitchen.” Her Mom sat next to her on the bed. “Allergies still bad, huh?”

“N...hih...no m...must be a c...colshi’hhhh! a cold.”

“I’m sorry, I wish I could take off today. Are you going to be okay with Jade?”

“I can handle it, we’ll be okay. Have a good day at work.” Jennifer forced herself up and woke up Jade to feed her. Jade ate and fell back to sleep leaving Jennifer the opportunity to fall back to sleep for a while.

She woke up a little later to Jade’s cries, changed her and fed her and Jade went back to sleep and Jennifer crawled back into bed and fell back to sleep till her cell phone rang.

“Hello,” she answered with her groggy hoarse voice.

“It’s Bryan, did I wake you? I’m sorry.”

“No no, It’s alright.” Her voice betrayed her and she launched into a coughing fit.

“I guess, you ended up with that cold. Is your Mom home today to help you with Jade?” He sounded so caring and gentle.

“No, but Jade’s still sleeping right now.”

“I know this might sound weird, but I’d hate for you to be home alone all day, would you mind if I brought my son and came to help take care of Jade and you. I know it might be awkward, but you shouldn’t be alone.”

“I would love that to be honest. I hate being alone when I’m sick.” Jennifer felt such relief that she wouldn’t be alone all day, especially if she started with a fever like Lilly did.

“We’ll be over in an hour.”

“Thanks so much Bryan.”

I'm so sorry for not updating sooner, it really has been a long rough recovery from the surgery and I've pretty much been sick since then. Well here it is.

PART 4

Jennifer forced herself out of bed and up to answer the door. She’d relocated to the couch but must have fallen asleep while waiting for Bryan to show up. Groggy, she opened the door and was greeted by Bryan’s warm and gentle smile.

“Hey...”

“Come in.” Jennifer opened the door some more and watched as Bryan entered with his son holding his hand.

“Jennifer, this is my son Luke. Luke has a fever today so he can’t go to school. I hope you don’t mind.”

“Not at all.” Jennifer leaned over so she was eye level with curly blond haired boy. “Would you like to lay on the couch with me and watch a movie?”

Luke shied away, but Bryan nudged him to respond and so he nodded. Jennifer led Luke to the couch and put in the Lion King. Within seconds the three year old was mesmerized by the Tv.

Jennifer coughed a few times but so far her nose was behaving. Jade continued to sleep and for that she was so grateful.

“How are you feeling?”

“I’ve definitely felt better.” As if to emphasize Jennifer’s nose began to burn. That incessant tickle just wouldn’t stay away. She groped around for tissues as the sneeze built and her nose burned. Her whole nose felt consumed and her breath began to hitch, but the sneeze just wouldn’t come out.

She tried to sniff, her breath hitch and then...nothing. The itch subsided some and she no longer felt the need to sneeze. “I lost it!”

Bryan laughed a little as Luke came up to him and curled up into his lap. “Whats the matter buddy?”

“Not feel good, Daddy.”

“I’m sorry little man. Mrs. Jennifer isn’t feeling well either, why don’t you go cuddle with her while I make you guys something to eat?” Luke hesitated for a moment, but soon was curled his tiny little body again Jennifer and started to watch the movie again.

Jennifer loved kids, she’d always wanted to have a huge family. Holding Luke reminded her of that. She could feel Luke’s breathing even out and his body get heavy against her as he drifted off to sleep and of course that darn tickle returned! Burning in her nose she fought the oncoming sneeze with every bit of strength she had.

Bryan must have seen her from the kitchen because he walked back into the living-room and handed her some tissues. As soon as she relaxed her nose took over trying to force this cold out of her one sneeze at a time ESSSCCIEW! ESSCIEW! ESSC’ECIEW!

Luke stirred but soon settled back asleep in her lap.

“Bless you.” Bryan whispered as he handed her more tissues.

“Dangks.” She blew her nose, but it did little good. Her felt raw already from all the blowing. She hated blowing in front of Bryan, it must seem so rude and gross. “I’b sorry I bust be disgustnng.”

“Haha It’s alright, hopefully this cold doesn’t last long for you.”

essCIEW! EsssCIEW! EsssCCIEW!

“Be too...” Heh...Hih’hhh...heh...HetchiEW!

"Why don't you get some sleep, we'll be here when you wake up."

"Ok." It wasn't long before Jennifer was out.

Last part, hope you guys enjoyed the story!

Part 5

Bryan sat with Jade in his arms as Jennifer slept with Luke curled up in her arms. They’d both fallen asleep at the beginning of the movie and outside of a few feverish whimpers from Luke and occasionally Jennifer, the house was silent.

Bryan smiled at Jade whom seemed very content in his arms. “You’re certainly very happy today.” Jade’s eyes began to drift shut and soon evern she’d fallen asleep. Bryan’s thoughts wandered off into places he’d wished they hadn’t. He longed for a family like this, taking care of a sick wife and kids. Being able to comfort, protect, and take care of someone.

He hand’t been able to protect Emily. Maybe he could protect Jennifer. What are you doing Bryan? You only met her yesterday! He tried to snap himself out of theses thoughts, but it felt good to think about the possibilities.

Bryan glanced over at Jennifer and Luke. His poor little man looked so pathetic, but it looked so right to see Jennifer holding him so motherly. He stood up and put Jade in her bassinet. He rubbed his forehead at the growing headache as he went to sit down. Stress at work had been horrible lately, so many late and long shifts at the hospital. He was surprised Luke remembered him and he hated that.

Bryan watched as Jennifer slept, but noticed her nose start to twitch and her chest rose and fell as her breath hitched. He chuckled as he went to grab some tissues out of the other room just in case she needed some.

“Essciew! EesssCIEW! Ugh!”

“Bless you.” Byran handed her the tissues as her eyes fluttered open sleepily. She blew her nose and groaned again.

“Thank you.” Her voice had become hoarse and congested. She shivered and Bryan noticed how flush she looked. He put his hand on her forehead. “Wow, you’re fever is high. Do you have a thermometer in the house?” She nodded and pointed towards the bathroom as she pulled her sweatshirt closer around her to stay warm.

Bryan found the thermometer, some cold & flu medicine, and some Aspirin for his headache. He went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water. Downed the Aspirin and filled a glass for Jennifer.

EssCIEW! eSSciew! EssssCIEEW! Watching her sneezing fits made his nose begin to tickle just listening to them. EsssCIEEW!

He handed her the meds and carefully lifted Luke off of her and laid him down on the other side of the couch. Poor thing didn’t even stir. Bryan brushed away a stry strand of hair that had fallen into his sons face. He turned back to face Jennifer who sat with her legs criss crossed and her hands with a tissue in front of her face as her breath hitched.

The curtains were closed, maybe some sunlight would help coax out her sneezes. So Bryan got up and opened the curtains and sure enough the second the sunlight hit through the window he heard her breath start to hitch violently behind him.

“It’s st...s...stihih...hih. E’chishihhh! Etchshiih! Ectchshi’hhhhh! Estcshiew! Deberbind!” She shivered as she blew her nose and Jade began to stir. Jennifer washed her hands before she went to tend to her baby girl.

“Are you cold?” She just nodded and looked on the verge of tears. He could only imagine how awful she felt. “

“Blankets are in the closet hallway. Do you mind grabbing me one? My whole body aches right now.”

“Anything you need I can get for you.” He found his way down the hall closet and gather two of the warmest blankets he could find for her and Luke.

Jennifer had one of Jade’s blankets draped over her as she fed Jade. It wasn’t long before Jade had fallen asleep and Jennifer had put her back in her bassinet.

“I’m sorry we’re not very good hosts right now.” She took a sip of her water and winced.

“Don’t worry about it. It would have just been Luke and I bored around the house today and he looks like He’s getting more rest here.

The tickel that had started in Bryan’s nose during one of Jennifer’s sneezing fits returned. He never actualy sneezed so he just sniffed a little and expected the feeling to go away. but it didn’t and he could feel himself starting to loose control as his breath hitched.

hetshhi’hh! Hetchhi’ss! Hetshhi’hh!

“Bless you.” Jennifer said as she curled up into the blankets and laid back down on the couch.

“Thank you.” Bryan settled himself in between Jennifer and Luke.. His nose had started to run a bit and he tried to sniffle silently, but Jennifer had heard him.

“I hope you’re not catching this.”

“Nah, I’m fine. How are you feeling though?” He asked, but her face went blank just before her eyes started to flutter and her nose twitched in the, what had become familiar and adorable way before she sneezed.

Eerchhshhi’hh! She grabbed some tissues and blew her nose.

“Sneezy.”

“Well sneezy, how about you pass me some of those tissues be...because I feel anhih...another sn...Hetch! Hetschhihhh! sneeze... Hetch! Hetchiii’ihhh!”

“Bless you.” She laughed and handed him some tissues. “Are you sure you haven’t caught my cold?”

“I’m sure I haven’t caught your cold, however Luke’s cold could be a completely different story.” Bryan smiled. He could stay like this the rest of his life. He would definitely get to know Ms. Jennifer Elizabeth Walters. Life finally started to look bright again and the wedding started it all.
