Hayfever - friend's sister (F)

Yesterday I met up with a friend who recently had a baby. Her sister and I ended up taking the baby out for a walk so my friend could get some rest. We walked to the local shop, about half an hour away. It wasn't especially sunny, but it was quite warm and there seemed to be a lot of people cutting their grass... and my friend's sister has really bad hayfever.

As we were walking, I noticed she was starting to sniffle a bit, and rub at her nose. Just as we were getting to the shop, she sneezed twice - harsh and wet. A..HARRISHOO! HARRISHOO! I blessed her and she sniffed again, complaining that it was too early for hayfever. In the shop she tossed a packet of tissues into the basket.

Once we got outside, she took one of the tissues and gave her nose a hard blow, which sounded really wet and gurgly. About 10 seconds later, she quickly put the balled up tissue to her nose and sneezes again, twice just like before. This time she groaned and pulled another tissue from the packet. She didn't blow her nose but stopped walking and got the tissue ready in her hands as she could obviously feel another sneeze coming. After a couple of hitches, she sneezed once more and then blow her nose again.

We set off walking and she seemed to be feeling a bit better, until we passed someone cutting their hedge. There were bits of tree floating everywhere and the pavement was covered in leaves and branches. I heard her mutter, 'oh shit..' under her breath, and she took the packet of tissues out of her pocket, pulling out another one. She seemed ok as we walked for a couple more minutes, then she stopped suddenly, threw the tissue to her face and had a crazy sneezing fit!!

Ha..HATISHOO! TISHOO! TSHOO! TSHOO! A..Ha..AHaaAATISOOO! HARRISHOOO! HARRISHOO! HARRISHOOOO!

After eight sneezes, she caught a ninth sneeze in the tissue and finished it by blowing her nose loudly. Fortunately (for her!) we were nearly home so after wiping at her nose a few times, she took a fresh tissue and kept it to her nose, sneezing a couple more times on the way home. When we got back, she took an antihistamine and only sneezed a few more times :drool:

Great obs, thank you :laugh:

I'd accept just one at the moment, real drought I'm going through :drool:

This sounds mind-bendingly amazing! :laugh: Have not had a great obs like this in ages. Your friend may find you seem extra keen to drop by to give her a break now :drool:
