Sinus Surgery

I know that usually people post sneezes in obs, and I would love to, but unfortunately my nose has produces mnay false starts, but no sneezes yet.

I had sinus surgery on Friday, plus I've had a really bad cold for over a week now and after the surgery its only gotten worse. Yesterday, I was laying on the couch, miserable. In pain with a major headache, so congested due to the cold and the packing I couldn't get any breath through my nose, but it had started to itch like crazy!! So I gentle tried to rub the itch out and my breath hitch once, then twice, then three times, and it was gone.

Then again about 30 minutes later, my nose began to itch again, so i rubbed my nose again gently and my breathe hitched again...and again...and again for about 3 minutes then the urge to sneeze subsided.

Hopefully later I'll be able to actually get some sneezes out for you guys, since I still feel pretty miserable I'm sure I'll be able to.

sillystarsmoons: They were torture and thank you.

sneezytwilight: Thank you, last night I was starting to feel better, but this morning woke up feeling worse.

Just sneezed a very wet messy single into an already sodden tissue. Tried to blow my nose gently, because I cant really blow it due to the surgery. It was just a mess. My nose is red and chapped from the cold, I have the cold voice, raspy and congested, and still an awful chesty cough. I'm glad I could finally sneeze for you guys though.

Oh you poor thing. :boom: That sounds like torture. Though I would personally love to witness three minutes of pre-sneeze hitching even if a sneeze never came out of it - glad you finally did sneeze though!

AW, Bless you!! Hope your cold wears off soon for you. Does your sinuses hurt from the surgery? I mean I'm sure they gave you pin killers, right?

Anony Mouse: I usually wouldn't mind 3 minutes of breath hitching pre-sneeze myself, but its been very uncomfortable because of the surgery.

sneezytwilight: My sinuses don't hurt anymore, but all the drainage from the surgery and cold is making me feel even sicker. The cold has been the worst part of this. It's totally zapped my energy level to nothing and my nose is constantly runny and stuffy, but I can't take anything for it, or even really blow my nose without hurting my sinuses. So I just keep dabbing at them, but that even hurts, because the edge of my nose is chapped and sore.

awww.. :boom: Just rest and eat/drink hot liquids. Feel better! i wish I could be there ya know? Having a cold is bad, having surgery is bad, but having them both together is just the worst! ♥♥♥ :boom:

sneezytwilight: Thank and I totally know. It has been the worst. It's times like these where I really wish I had a boyfriend to take care of me. Unfortunately I don't and probably wont for a while.

sneezychick93 - I had sinus surgery years ago..it's pretty weird..that packing in your sinuses, isn't it?

Mims: Yeah it is so weird, and it has definitely been awful to have the surgery plus a cold. I had sinus surgery three years ago and it wasn't so bad, the recovery was much faster than its been this time. It's been a horrible long cold and recovery. I have to go to work later, not sure how I'm going to make it through

sneezytwilight: I had to call out sick on Saturday due to the fact that I couldn't really move. Last time I had sinus surgery by the day after I was mostly functional again, but this time because of the cold. I've been really really sick, and even now i'm starting to feel better, but cant breathe through my nose at ALL, yet its constantly runny. the cough is only bad at night and in the mornings now

I'm glad you're STARTING to feel better. This is good news. How did work go?

And so what kind of sinus surgery did you have this time, if you've had it before?

I'm surprised they even did the surgery while you were sick. I would think they'd postpone it, but.. oh well, you made it through. congrats on that. I hope you feel better really soon. :(

Mims: I am so glad too! I only made it through half of my shift which is really bad because it was only a 3 hour shift. Today I'm going to have to make it through the whole shift even though I'm in a lot of pain right now because they took out the packing and suctioned a lot of crap out of my nose.

I had a cyst in the right sinus cavity that took up 3/4ths of it. It was causing a lot of headaches and breathing troubles so they took care of it.

I am too surprised they didn't postpone it but am glad they didn't as miserable as it's been, the next few months are super busy for me. I really don't catch a break until august. then college starts back up at the end of the month so.

Oh wow.. well, you're SICK, so it makes sense that you only made it through half of your shift. I hope today goes okay.. sounds like it's going to be a long day.. do they have you on pain pills? I hate it when they take out the packing! Ugh..remember that very well.

Ahhh I see.. wow that sounds awful.. I'm glad they took care of it!

Wow.. you're just busy busy busy.. I guess I can see why they went ahead with the surgery.

I hope you can make it through your shift today.. and then RELAX a bit! Sounds like you need some time to do just that.

Yeah, its been awful. I dont have a choice today, but to make it through my shift today, and they gave me pain pills, but I cant drive if I take them and I have to be able to drive today. Regular over the counter pain killers dont do me much good. Time to relax would be very much welcome!!

Thanks for all the well wishes

Wow. This isn't the kind of situation that sneeze-lovers dream of. I'm glad that the worst seems to be over, and hope you feel much better very soon.
