Anonymouse
So I'm kind of sick of drawing with my mouse. I used to be happy with the work I could do with my mouse but since I've been at school I haven't been able to adjust to the different texture of the desk. The mouse just doesn't move as smoothly as it did on my desk at home. I'm also not really happy with drawing and scanning when I want to do colored pictures. I hate coloring with colored pencils and it's difficult for me to color pictures the way I want in GIMP when they've been scanned from a pencil/pen drawing. My question is for those of you who use tablets (if anyone here actually does), have you heard good things about the Bamboo Pen Tablet? I just won some money and I want to use some (but not all) of it for a tablet and the Bamboo one is priced perfectly for me at around $50. I've read mostly good reviews on Amazon and one of my friends told me she heard it was good, but I just want to get as many opinions as possible. Thanks! Link to comment

Spider Sneezes
I have a Bamboo Tablet and it is (other than my computer itself) my most prized piece of technology. The thing works like a dream! Mine's a few years old and I don't think the version being sold anymore (It's an MTE-450) but if the newer ones are anything like it, then I give Bamboo a rousing endorsement!Wacom tablets are amazing, I use mine just about everyday. They take some getting used to at first, but it's so worth it. Link to comment
murphy dee
I, too, have heard great things about the Bamboo tablets. I've got a wacom tablet that's a few years old and it's served me well, it's a fantastic brand.Once you get used to working with one, it becomes SO much easier than pencil and paper (to the point where now I've pretty much forgotten how to draw with traditional mediums, oops). I think in just the first year I starting using a tablet my art skill probably doubled. It just allows for so much more trial and error, and you can make as many mistakes as you please without ruining an eraser and rubbing holes in the paper. Ha, sorry for the ramble. I get really excited when people buy tablets for the first time just because I know how much fun you're gonna have. Link to comment
Anonymouse
Awesome! Glad to hear that people have had good experiences with the Bamboo and tablets in general. I'm looking forward to getting it in the mail soon!I tend to press the pencil really hard so my stuff comes out dark which doesn't leave a lot of room for mistakes that can be easily erased. More than anything I want to be able to color my pictures digitally (aka cute red noses and cheeks for my fetish pics ) without the lines looking all awkward/unnatural from drawing with the mouse. It's a laser mouse and it dies frequently. Most frustrating thing ever when you're in the middle of drawing something. Thanks everyone! Link to comment
Dye
I have a Bamboo One myself, and it is wonderful. I used to have a Graphire 4, but that broke. The Bamboo has yet to fail me. Granted, I got a Tablet PC since then(lucky me~ It's so much better! It was cheap ) but I still use my Bamboo for school blah blahI think you should get one~! Link to comment
Nova
A bit late now, since you've ordered one, but I would recommend the Bamboo any day. Though if you at some point in your life realize that you can't live without a tablet I recommend an Intuos. I don't know what new models will be released until then (if then will ever be), but I've always preferred the Intuos to the Bamboo, even if the Bamboo can satisfy most needs. So, you won't reget you ordering one, I'm sure. (Still, I think the Bamboo is sort of small ) *nod* I'm also going to be a classical art idiot and tell you not to forget your traditional mediums - especially not pencils. Digital art is much more handy in many areas (as you don't need that much space or loads of different colours, pencils, paint and so on and so forth) but traditional art complements those little things that digital art might lack. I use my tablet more than I use normal pencils (very, very, very much more) but I have a sketchbook that I use as well (I find loose sketching from observation as well as imagination to be very artistically developing). The mix of these makes both easier. *thumbs up*Good luck with your Bamboo! Link to comment
