In Need of a Virus Scan (M, cold)

Okay, time for a brief explanation. So I was writing a Vocaloid fanfic on one of those fansites and I started thinking of everyone here, anyway, I decided to write a special Vocaloid sneezefic for anyone who's interested here ;)

Let's begin, shall we?

It was a typical morning in Master's laptop, around 8:00am, before Master was awake and ready to start writing a new song. He usually used Hatsune Miku or Megurine Luka when he would make a song he knew would be a hit on Nico Nico Douga, Piapro, Youtube, etc. Master was never that much into change but this time was different, he was planning on using Kaito because the Vocaloid1 engine had just the voice range he needed. Unlike Master, most of the vocaloids were up and ready by 6:00am in anticipation for Master's mad song writing/composing skills. "I'm so excited! Maybe he'll make a love song!" Miku squealed with enthusiasm, she was probably the most excited out of anyone there. Miku's joy often spread like butter on toast only without the assistance of a knife, her previous statement also sparked guesses of the song's genre with the other vocaloids, until they were... interrupted

"ih, GSHUUUghhh"

All the excitement transformed into curiousity. The attention turned to Kaito... who looked absoulutely terrible. "Wh-why are you guys starihg at be?" Kaito asked congestedly.

To Be Continued (I would write more but I have to go buy shoes )

Aww, that was cute. I didn't know the Vocaloids COULD get sick, but then again, I don't know too much about them. I'm looking forward to seeing where you take this.

@ Natto: I'm not sure if vocaloids can actually get sick either, but that's what makes imagination exciting  I like reading and writing cute stories so the epic cuteness shall continue ;)

All right, time to start part 2, yay!

Nobody said a word to Kaito for a good 2 minutes, doesn't seem like much but akward silence can make the shortest amount of time seem like forever, the silence was broken by Rin, "Kaito... you do know that if you're sick, Master will uninstall you or something like that, you're already obselete and nobody uses you anymore so there's a few points against you." Rin explained, if that statement hadn't scared Kaito enough, Meiko had enough freedom to make matters worse. "I'd be glad if you were uninstalled. It's better than frying Master's hard drive" Meiko said as she whacked poor Kaito on the head. Wait... did she say "frying"... that would mean all of Kaito's friends, acquaintances, even enemies (they were usually known as "enemies" if they took the last ice ream cone) would... die. Kaito would've shuddered at the thought if there hadn't been an uncomfortable tingling in his nose at the exact moment. His mouth opened, preparing for the release, resulting in a loud and painful sneeze.

"gih, PSHOUUhhh... ow, that hurt"

Miku rushed up to Kaito in a worried fashion. Her right hand gently reahed for his forehead, even though she would pull back her hand a few times from being to scared to do so. "Oh dear, Kaito I think you might have a fever..." Miku said nervously once her hand reached it's destination. "It's fihd, baybe Baster wod't cobpose the sohg today" Kaito optimistically guessed, oh how he wished Master would just go for walk or something productive, just until Kaito had reached a state of good health. All of his hopes and dreams plummeted like a boulder in a swimming pool when he noticed the cursor moving towards the window that said "Autoplay" which meant Master was logged on and had already insterted the disc this also meat that Kaito had to hide... well...

"ih' PGSHUUHhhh"

Outside the screen, Kaito's sneezing sounded more like a reboot noise. "What was that?" Master asked himself, then he just carried on with getting set up to compose his "masterpiece"

To Be Continued

Note: This story is very fun to work on, almost as fun as a certain other story I wrote (and I'm still writing it) and shall never be forgotten. Well anyway, please let me know what you think of this part as well as the over-all story ;)

This is adorable! It's interesting to read a sneezefic about the Vocaloids in their computer setting, since a lot of the time people turn them human, or at least put them into the real world. :P I also have a soft spot for Kaito, so I'm loving this so far!

@ Scion: Thank you so much, I enjoy thinking of cute stories to write and ways to spell sneezes (I do that all the time during lunch) and I'm very happy you enjoy it too :D

@ LeapYearKisses: I never knew that so many people wrote about vocaloids as real people (I've only read two actual Vocaloid fanfics, I usually just listen to the songs). Hearing that I did something different makes me feel special :D

@ Daisoku: That's very sweet, I'm glad to hear you find it adorable, I love Kaito too (he's so cute with his scarf and his sunny personality) You get free hugs :bleh:

@ blackrose: It's so awesome that you want to read more :bleh: I'm hoping the next part will be as interesting as the previous ones.

I apologize for some spelling errors in parts 1 & 2, I'm fully awake and my keys don't stick as much so there won't be too many in the next part. Speaking of which, part 3 is now ready, let's begin, shall we?

"Oh by C Drive! What ab I gohdda do?" Kaito whined as Master was ready to insert the first syllable. Miku grabbed Kaito by the arm in concern "Kaito, just force a restart and keep doing so until Master gives up... maybe he'll understand." Miku tried not to break down in pixelated tears but the thought of never seeing Kaito, or anyone, again was just too overwhelming. When she looked up at Kaito, she noticed his nose beginning to twitch a bit. His face sort of morphed into something that made Kaito look like he ate a bad grape. His mouth opened slowly. His head then jerked a bit for a loud "hyih, GCH'EUUUUughhhh"

Miku sighed, Kaito knew himself that he was in absolutely no condition for any song whatsoever, if Master could wait just a little longer, it would be a miracle. Meanwhile, Master double-checked the lyrics sheet he had written the day before and typed in the syllable "me*" but when he checked to see how it sounded, it came out as "be*" Master checked over and over again but it just ended up the same. Once Master was ready to give up, the screen went black. "W-What just happened?" Master asked to himself. Inside Master's laptop, Kaito was... asleep, it didn't help that Meiko was swatting him upside the head during most of Master's unsuccessul attempts to get a simple syllable to work. "The poor thing... This is all your fault Meiko! You hit him so hard he passed out" Miku cried as she tried to carry Kaito. "Let me help" suggested a mysterious voice from a distance. That voice belonged to no one other than Gakupo.

The other vocaloids who were present at the time politely rejected his help, in fear of him using his so-called "mad samurai skillz (yes, with a 'Z')" which usually resulted in pixelated blood (no death though, thank goodness) and a few broken files here and there. Miku was so scared of what would happen to Kaito if left alone with Gakupo that she didn't notice that Kaito was slowly waking up. However, what woke Kaito up was very unpleasant for him.

"gah, PCSCHUUUUhhh"

Miku looked over her shoulder to notice that Kaito looked fifteen times more miserable than before. She couldn't tell which had more of a red tint, his flushed cheeks or his unconfortably irritated nose. Miku kept him by her shoulders and stroked his hair. "Woah, woah, WOAH! Don't go acting like he's your 'honey bunches' or 'pookie-bunny' or any disgusting pet names like that!" Meiko exclaimed before she realized that her jealousy was far too noticable.

While Meiko was ranting about Miku's more open affection, Master decided to run a virus scan using the best software on the market. When the results came in it simply said... "a cold" Master was extremely confused. Since when did computers catch colds? Master thought this was a joke and ran a scan again.

It still said the same thing. It was now time for a trip to the electronics store to see what the real problem was, leaving the vocaloids to take care of Kaito for the time being.

To be continued.

*= in the Japanese language, the "e" is pronounced somewhere in between "eh" and "ay" so "me" is not as in "More pudding for me"

I hope you enjoyed reading this part as much as I enjoyed writing it :)

@ blackrose: It's good to know you're enjoying this :D, enjoyment is always important when reading a story.

Sadly, this next part is... the final chapter to the story. Now let's begin the ending (if that makes sense)

With Master away, the vocaloids did not play; they were actually hard at work searching through the MikuMikuDance accessory folder for a nice bed for Kaito to rest in. Once they had found one, Miku gently wrapped Kaito in blankets like a special birthday present... only she gave him plenty of blanket-free space to allow him to breathe and didn't put a ribbon on top. Miku silently watched Kaito drift off to sleep; she tried not to wake him as she felt his cooler, yet still feverish, forehead with her soft hand. Everything seemed absolutely peaceful... until Len decided to show up. "Rin, I know it was you who renamed my song folder 'idiot monkey'!" he shouted. While it would be likely for Kaito to have been woken up by Len’s disruption, this was not the case; Kaito was sound asleep as if Len had not said a word. For a while, Len stared at the sleeping Kaito; he wondered what happened. Why on earth had he missed all this? Was it best that he was left out of the situation? Despite the many options for inquiries, Len settled with a slightly calmer question. “Is he okay?” he asked; normally one would expect a noticeably conscious program to explain; however, Kaito had woken up during Len’s decision and was able to answer, surprising the other vocaloids in the process. “I’b okay dow, really.” Kaito said weakly. Miku smiled; even though there was a large chance that Kaito would be terminated or simply uninstalled, she was happy to know she had spent a good amount of time with him before this horrible event. Kaito looked as if he was about to say something like “I love you” or even “I’m hungry”; however, the action of opening his mouth was due to a bothersome tingling sensation in his nose. As much as Kaito tried to fight this urge, because sneezing on Miku would seem extremely unfitting for the moment, he just didn’t have the strength to keep fighting it.

kih, GCH’EUUUuughhh

Kaito’s sneeze was exactly what Len needed to realize what was going on… even though the answer was right in front of his face to begin with. “So he’s… sick?” Len guessed to see if he was correct. “Wow, you’re a genius.” Meiko and Rin said sarcastically. Meanwhile, Master was already back from the electronics store, even though the salesman laughed in his face for a while, he suggested that Master should just uninstall and reinstall Kaito; he was ready to do what was needed. While Master was busy attempting to fix whatever was causing the problem, the vocaloids had no idea whatsoever what was going on. “Wh-What!?” Kaito nervously said as he noticed his hands slowly disappearing. “Kaito, no!” Miku screamed in tears; it was too late, Kaito was gone by time she reached for him. Miku couldn’t believe it; she never considered something this awful could happen. All hope was fading away for the vocaloids until they noticed there was a familiar shade of blue on the bed. Kaito was returning faster than he had disappeared. Once Kaito was fully visible he looked much healthier than he had been earlier. “Kaito! You’re back! Are you feeling better now?” Miku cried in rejoice. She checked Kaito’s forehead for proof that he was in perfect condition, which he was. The vocaloids decided to have a celebration that involved a lot of ice cream just for Kaito. “Len, go get balloons! Len? Len!?” Rin exclaimed while trying to get Len’s attention.

hah, CH’PUUUUuuh

Len sniffed and tried to ignore the sudden distraction. “You BETTER not be catching a cold! You haven’t even spent a full half hour with Kaito!” Rin yelled and chased Len around the desktop.

The End

I hope you liked this last part. I was debating with myself over a lot of things when I wrote this, Len almost didn't even show up in the story at all.

Thank you for reading this story until the end :)
