Chanel_no5
Is it possible to actually feel the pollen in the air? Even if you're not allergic? I think I can feel it coating my skin when I've been outside... Either that, or there's something else during spring and summer that feels heavy on my skin. What do you guys think? I know it's kind of off-topic, but it's still, you know, sort of on-topic. Mods, feel free to move this if it's better suited somewhere else. Link to comment
VoOs
There is no pollen to speak of up here yet, but road dust... Jeez. It's everywhere and, yes, I can feel it. In my airways, on my skin and in my hair. It's a dirty spring we're having. Link to comment
Chanel_no5
I see what you mean about road dust, but it doesn't seem to matter if I'm out in the woods or in town, or wherever I am, to feel this. Just a thought. And we've got pollen here... it's about a week left to the great pollen explosion (of birches), but I've already seen a couple of individual birch trees with tiny green leaves on... sillystarsmoons
I know what you are saying yes I can feel pollen too especially if there is a lot around. Link to comment
Nicole
Hmmm...well, I think you probably must be able to. I have been seeing it coating my car lately. Nasty shit, that pollen. Well...unless you like that sort of thing. Link to comment
Chanel_no5
I love that sort of thing! And I love you Nicole! Welcome back, beautiful! Link to comment
Nova
I can feel it if it's a lot (though not in that way you all like. Sorry ) and I sure it see now too. When the air is thick with it, you can even imagine that you can taste it. Link to comment
Chanel_no5
Must be it... today it's a low pollen count day here, but the traffic is really bad and they've just swept the streets, so logically the road dust levels should be horrible. And despite me being outside all day, I don't have that heavy, kind of cloying feeling on my skin. Interesting. When the air is thick with it, you can even imagine that you can taste it.Heh, I used to eat birch pollen when I was a kid. Rubbed it off surfaces and licked it. It was sort of bitter, but it tasted green, so I liked it anyway. I pretended it was the flour that fairies used to bake with. Ahem. Edited April 15, 2011 by Chanel_no5 Link to comment

ILoveTheSound
Where I live, you can feel it, see it, it coats everything...I think you can even taste it. I am anticipating things getting bad over the next few days. We've had a substantial amount of rain this weekend and the flowering trees have begun budding. But I'll know for sure when I see that thick green film on my car. My allergies are gonna be off the charts this week, I just know it. Link to comment
Butch
Chanel - UGH.. I think so, yes. We have a high pollen alert here today (second day in a row, now).. the pollen just floats around in the wind.. it's ick. Reminds me of the time I was visiting out of state, the pollen was just in the air at a baseball game. Miserable situation. I find I feel weird, too if it's HUMID and there's pollen. Then it feels like the humidity plus the pollen are SITTING on my head. Sounds odd, but it's true. Link to comment
bloom
Ugh, yes, I can feel it and it feels awful. Mostly it's settling into my lungs and I can't breathe worth crap the past few weeks (asthma is fun!) but I can feel it on my skin and in my hair too.I can definitely taste it when it's thick in the air too. It's not a particularly nice taste to me. Link to comment
PaperThings
I don't think I've ever really felt pollen, but today my friend and I were taking a walk (and we live in NYC!) and it was literally covering every sort of surface in the park. Kinda excited about it, actually . Link to comment
murphy dee
I don't feel it, but I just realized today that there's a fine yellow power covering my entire car. Link to comment
March Hare
Heh, I used to eat birch pollen when I was a kid. Rubbed it off surfaces and licked it. It was sort of bitter, but it tasted green, so I liked it anyway. I pretended it was the flour that fairies used to bake with. Ahem. That just made me like you even more. Back on topic... I haven't seen this yet, but I'll be paying extra attention to it from now on!ETA: @Murphy Phwoaarrr! YELLOW POWER! (That's a lovely fetishy name for pollen in a way...)
