You can't always trust first sneeze impressions!

Here's an obs of a woman from my workplace. She's my age, quite thin (but not unnaturally so) with dark (almost black) hair and freckles. She's good-looking and always wears stylish and tasteful clothes. She has a slightly high voice, so comes across as rather girly.

The first time I heard her sneeze, I was rather disappointed. Her voice made me expect her sneezes to be feminine and girlish... but when she sneezed three times in a meeting, they were cough-like sneezes; a type that really does nothing for me. "Oh well," I thought, "you can't have everything..."

However, recently she was in her office talking informally to a colleague (a guy she is good friends with outside work). We usually keep the office doors open unless someone's having a private conversation- and suddenly I heard her sneeze twice. They were still cough-like... but the cough was preceded and followed by two very feminine gasps. The sneezes sounded something like "Aah-Kuh-Haah!" (it's hard to spell the cough part!)

I glanced round to see her paused for a moment, perhaps wondering if she was going to sneeze a third time... then she sniffled and continued talking to the guy in here office. The sneezes must have been quite loud, for me to hear them so clearly from my desk- it seemed she felt sufficiently comfortable with her friend to sneeze loudly right in front of him- a nice thought!

I guess the first time I heard her sneeze, she was holding them back because we were in a meeting. Whatever the reason, I've learned not to judge a sneeze by it's cover! (So to speak. )

Happened to me before. One meets a nice and cute girl only to realize that she stiffles in the most boring and unappealing way, or even worse, she does that sneeze-cough (snough?) that you mention...damn I hate those.

But you did well by mentioning it, now we can denounce the evil of the snough and systematically destroy it.
