Bordered/Striped Handkerchiefs

I have come to the conclusion that out of my shedloads of handkerchiefs, the ones I prefer are the bordered/striped kind. I have lots of white and coloured plain, some chequred and patterned, but it's the bordered ones that to me feels like a proper hankie.

If you see someone from afar, wiping their nose on something plain white, you can't actually tell if it's a tissue or a handkerchief. If they are using something patterned or bordered, or even not white, then at least that tells it's a handkerchief. It's the bordered hankie though, that is the better. I have used patterned or chequred hankies before, and people have commented that they look like a tea-towel. A bordered hankie, is definately a hankie.

What kind of non-white hankies do you prefer to see?

Other than plain white hankies, I also prefer to see people using a bordered hankie.

Bordered ones are very classy indeed.

Hankies should look like hankies. Colourful bandanas are no hankies to me, but BANDANAS.
