Kind of a random question...

Okay pholks, I need some opinions on this, and you fine people are the only ones I feel brave enough to ask, haha (the old "somebody will suspect my fetish!" thing, yaknow...). Anyway, I've heard it asked if vampires sneeze before, but do zombies sneeze?? I gotta say, I know a zombie isn't everybody's idea of a good time, but it def. is mine, and a zombie sneezing on me... *shudders* Well, let's just say I wouldn't be complaining. Just think of how messy it would be...

So - any opinions? Do zombies sneeze - yay or nay?

I have to imagine that, if the zombie still had a nose, it would sneeze. Zombies are pretty much humans at their most basic (and most dead, lol). They're totally at the whim of their primal instincts, without any control of themselves. So if a zombie had to sneeze, I gotta think it would. I mean, if it can make noises and stuff, then that means air is still getting into their lungs and moving over their vocal chords somehow, so stuff could still get in their nose too.

I think they're totally capable! They're also not real so you're free to make up your own fantasies and nobody can prove otherwise.

Yikes! Please no. Absolutely gross. I refuse to incorporate that in my image of zombies (which is largely based on a certain kill-all-zombies-with-vegetation-flashgame).

My brother has a book called ‘So Now You’re a Zombie: a handbook for the newly undead', which has a chapter called 'your zombie body'. Apparently, because of decomposition, the nose fills with low levels of excessive mucus, which helps to detect prey. However, it's also so excessive that it drips into the mouth/throat and leads to unpleasantness, but I imagine sneezing it out instead would be much more efficient, as sneezes supposedly spread the zombie virus.... the book is very detailed

Also, as I've heard from conversations with friends, apparently the old legends say that the reason why vampires can animate themselves without decomposing or anything like zombies is because they replenish all their body fluids by drinking blood (that's how they stay soft and moist!), so theoretically Vampires should cough, pee, sweat, cry, and sneeze blood.

Here's my theory: No, I don't think they would.. I know (some kinds of) vampires are said to cry blood, but I'm thinking, if they sneeze blood, that would mean that they'd have to spit blood as well. In other words, they'd have blood replace all their bodily fluids, tears, mucus and saliva alike. And, I don't know, that just seems a little riduclous to me. *laugh* But then again, I don't like vampires. If you do, and want them to sneeze blood, you should make the vampires in your head do just that. That's what imagination is for, after all. X)

Have you seen the episode of "Tales from the Darkside" titled "A Case of the Stubborns"? Without giving too much away, it does feature a dead guy (played by Eddie Bracken) sneezing - you hear it rather than see it, but you do get shown the result!

I'd say their body can somehow "separate" all the things in blood from each other... So they would have some rather mucus-like mucus... *purr* I mean... There's the yellow stuff in blood that is rather fun...

First... Warm Bodies won't be changing my idea of zombies or anything zombie-related. It's just one new movie. Just the same as Twilight didn't make me think that all vampires must be sparkly and so on. It's just withing that fandom.

And I don't know what I've been thinking the last time I replied here. At the moment I can't think of a thing that would make it possible for zombies to sneeze. Might be that some other moment it's clear as hell to me that of course they sneeze, but... lol
