How long can you hold in your sneeze?

When your body tells you to sneeze, how long can you hold it before you have to let it rip?

I used to not be able to do this at all. But after much

practice I can do it for a few seconds now. Yay! How bout you guys?

99% of the time, I can do so indefinitely

Depends... usually between about 1 and 5 seconds I guess... and sometimes it will go away entirely as mental block kicks in. (Assuming you mean the case where it has progressed too far to be uhm... prevented in other ways.)

are there ever times where you can't help it or is it always just a matter of not wanting to. Sorry it's just interesting and I'm admittedly jelous XD

Well it obviously depends on how strong the tickle is. If it's quite subtle, and just the start of a sneeze building I could probably hold it for a minute tops, until it either goes away or materializes. If it's a stronger tickle, and I know I'm definitely gonig to sneeze, I can manage for maybe 10-15 seconds.

Well, I can keep myself from doing it altogether in public, so I don't know if that counts or anything. I just will myself not to, and I've got a pretty good mental block. I've not sneezed in front of anyone in years, save for one close friend who knows about the fetish, but even then, not often.

When I'm at home, and I'm trying to hold it in just for the sake of seeing how long I can do it (and for the purpose of this one, I'm not including how long it takes for it to go away, because when I'm alone, I usually don't want it to) I can get up to maybe five or six seconds.

I used to have a really fantastic mental block and could hold off most sneezes (unless cat allergy induced) almost indefinitely. Once I surpressed them long enough though, they would disappear forever and wouldn't come back even if I wanted them to.

After I found the forum, however, I wanted to start sneezing more freely again. I worked on getting rid of my mental block and have gotten much better! I still can usually hold them off if I need to, but I try to let them free after no more than a minute or so for fear that I will lose it forever and my mental block will get stronger again.

It's strange though ... when I am around family I try to surpress the sneezes but often can't for longer than a few minutes. Maybe my mental block isn't as strong as I thought it was.

I can usually stop them all together if I know one is coming. It if comes on quick then I don't have time to really hold it back. My main reason for stopping sneezes is that I hate being blessed.

Yeah. I don't even know how. I've just been so self-aware ever since I was really young so holding them back is second nature to me.

I'm one of those people with a mental block that will make the sneeze disappear, especially in public, and it usually doesn't return once I make it go away. Been trying to change that, and so sometimes I am able to let one out. Not very often, though.

but in the private of my home, I try, but they are just to powerful, so I just have to let them out:)

If I'm going to sneeze (you know when you are going to sneeze, no matter what)..it takes but a few seconds.

I guess the longest I've held in a sneeze is about 10 seconds. I don't have a mental block and I rarely lose sneezes or get any stuck. By the way can you still feel the tickle in your nose and just will the sneeze away with a mental block?

I can't resist very long. I don't have a block...but I can hold off much easier in public then when I'm alone.

I can hold off a sneeze indefinitely by wiggling my nose strategically. Unless my mouth is full of food.
