Characters: You’ll find this out by reading, but just for reference:

Jake

Age: 20-21

Nationality: Canadian

Appearance: He is average height and thin, but has muscular legs from sports. His hair is black and straight with bangs and has blue eyes.

This hair is pretty close to what I imagine: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zJ_dM-RHJ3A/TMvY...X8/s320/.am.jpg

Occupation: He is a student at Oxford. He is a math and computer major and plays football (soccer, whatever you call it) for the school team. (I don’t know if they actually have one, but now they do ).

Other: He is an officer of the student council and very popular. He can be very laid-back and sometimes shy, but is normally outgoing. He likes to play videogames and program computers in his spare time. However, he burns or somehow makes a disaster of anything he tries to cook.

Matthew (Matt)

Age: 21-22

Nationality: English

Appearance: He is tall and has a slightly muscular body type. He has blonde, slightly wavy hair and bright green eyes. Sometimes he wears glasses to study.

Hair like this: http://ibbyskibby.files.wordpress.com/2010...-blonde-guy.jpg

Occupation: He is a student at Oxford. He is studying to get into medical school.

Other: He is an excellent cook and pianist. However, he is terrible at math. He hangs out with roughly the same crowd as Jake, though he is less popular, but still well-known. He is more of a clown than Jake and more openly affectionate.

And obviously the story takes place in England.

You have to imagine it with the accents. I can’t write them in very well, so I just didn’t at all. Sorry :D

Because I really wanted to establish the characters before diving into drabbles, you get a sneezy story first.

Long Plot-filled Introduction (Like, really long.):

(Matt’s POV)

I sit in my usual spot in the cafeteria and wait for the one I have a crush on to come sit next to me. My heart races just thinking about him. He’s my best friend that I met this year in college: a brilliant, athletic boy from Canada. He has a funny accent, but I think it’s adorable. We do everything together…eat, study, relax, go places…always together. So how could I not fall in love with someone that I spend that much time with? And here he comes now!

“Hey Matt, what do you have for lunch today?” Jake asked, as he sat next to me.

“Oh nothing much, just a sandwich and some crisps.” I replied, cheerful. He always makes my days better. Then Jake went on to comment on the cafeteria food of the day, but I was paying more attention to his eyes…

He always eats in the cafeteria, but I’m not sure why. I always make my own food. It tastes much better than the pre-packed stuff they serve. Maybe I should make him lunch one day. But would that be too forward?-

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Emma sat down next to Jake with her usual overly-cheerful greeting.

Emma bothered me, but only because I was jealous. She would constantly flirt with Jake like he was her boyfriend. He never showed interest or disinterest, which bothered me a tad, as well. I know it’s really selfish of me to want Jake all to myself when he isn’t even mine, but I just can’t help it. I decide to distract him from Emma a bit.

(Jake’s POV)

“Hey, Jake, do you want to watch a movie with me tonight?”

A movie sounded good, I thought. I wasn’t up for anything that required much effort tonight. Truthfully, I’m not feeling all that great today, but I’m never letting anyone know…That’s just how I am. I hate making people worry. I agree to Matt’s movie proposal, ignoring Emma’s immediate “but I wanted to do something with you tonight!”

How was I supposed to know if she didn’t say anything before? I feel bad for ignoring Emma so much. I hang out with Matt a lot, because he’s my best friend, but for some reason, she doesn’t seem to like being around him much, so she prefers to be with me alone (or just without Matt). She’s not a bad girl, but I think she likes me a lot more than I like her…’that’ way anyway. I reassure her that I’ll spend time with her another day. She seems sore, but placated for now. That’s good, I would hate to upset her.

I sigh as I look at my watch: only 10 minutes until my next class. I can’t wait until classes are over so I can go home and take a nap.

-Later in the day-

I wake up from my nap to the blaring alarm clock. Why does it always sound louder when I don’t want to be woken up? It’s time to go to Matt’s place to watch a movie. I hope he doesn’t mind if I go home early…I felt not-so-good this morning, but now I just feel awful. And my nose is running- gross. I’ll probably go home early.

(Matt’s POV)

Tonight I’m going to be more aggressive with my feelings. I have to beat Emma and win him over. I just hope this won’t hurt our friendship. What if he’s not into guys? I can’t think that way; I’ve got to keep a positive outlook!

It’s not like I haven’t given him hints before. I flirt with him all the time, just more subtly than most. If only he would catch on and notice how badly I want to hold him and kiss him and…do naughty things to him. My thoughts made me blush. I shouldn’t think about my best friend that way, but I do.

Tonight will be the perfect night to cuddle with him on the couch. I don’t know if I can confess just yet…

(Jake’s POV)

As I’m walking to Matt’s apartment, it’s really chilly and looks like it’s about to rain. Good thing I have my umbrella and a jacket. I really don’t need to get sick, or more sick, I guess, than I am now.

“Jake!” A familiar voice rang in the slight distance. I squinted in the twilight to see who it was-Emma.

“Hey, are you going to that movie thing with Matt?” she asked in her always-too-cheerful voice as she caught up to me.

“Um, yeah.” I replied.

“Well I just wanted to tell you something important first.” She looked serious, for once in her life.

There was a pause before she spoke.

“I love you. Please be my boyfriend.”

All I could do was stare at her. I knew she liked me, but I just wasn’t ready for this kind of thing. A declaration of love? How could I possibly respond? But, before I could, she kissed me.

I didn’t know what to do, so I just let her kiss me. I never gave a response either. I didn’t really get the chance to because she ran off before I could say anything. I glanced at the apartments after she ran off and saw Matt’s face jerk behind a curtain. Oops. I knew he would be angry. He hated Emma. This was going to be one awkward night.

I walked up to his door and timidly tapped it. Not surprisingly, he didn’t look too happy as he opened the door…

(Matt’s POV)

I tried not to cry as I watched the one I love kiss that girl. The girl that didn’t deserve him. She could never love him like I do. Then after kissing him, she ran off and I had to hide as Jake looked in my direction. I think he saw me. I don’t even know what to feel right now. I’m heartbroken I guess. Just mad and sad and I want to scream as loud as I can, but I can’t do that. But I can’t leave him outside, so I opened the door.

My precious Jake stood at my door timidly, like a dog that knows they did something wrong. However, he tried to act like nothing happened.

“Hey Matt! So what movie did you pick out?”

I couldn’t even think about movies right now. All I could focus on was Jake.

“Why did you kiss Emma?”

Oh. That wasn’t tactful at all. He stiffened at my accusation (it was…) and looked nervously toward the ground. I decided to let it go for now and just try to have a good time with my ‘best’ friend.

We sat in awkward silence on the couch as the pre-movie credits started. He looked uncomfortable and I was probably pretty stiff, too.

Then, Jake asked timidly, “Why does it matter to you so much if I kiss Emma?”

He somehow said it in the least accusatory way I could think possible for the statement. It was more of a soft apology.

I knew the answer. But I didn’t want to confess my love like this. I wanted it to be at the height of something romantic, not when I was angry at him.

“It just does.” I say non-descriptively.

After a few minutes I calm down and scoot closer to Jake on the couch. He looked cold, even though he didn’t even take off the jacket he wore outside. So I thought maybe I could get close and warm him up some. I didn’t want him to think he couldn’t have a good time with me, so maybe being nicer will calm him down.

I scoot close and wrap my arm around him. He flinches. Crap. But he doesn’t shake me off, so he doesn’t hate me, I think. We watch in silence as the movie starts, but I can tell he’s slowly relaxing. I can also hear him sniffling quietly. He must be really cold. I decided to get a blanket, but when I came back holding it, he was standing by the door.

“You’re leaving?”

Why can’t I say anything remotely intelligent?

“Um, yeah…I think” was his unsure response.

I needed to apologize. He definitely still thinks I’m mad. I’m not mad, just hurt now.

“Look, um…” I said, ever so eloquently, “I’m not mad at you. So please stay.”

(Jake’s POV)

I feel bad for leaving, but it’s not for the reason he thinks. It’s nothing about Emma or love or kissing, I just feel really sick and I’m probably feverish. I don’t want to have to bother him with having to take care of me.

“I’m really sorry, but I have to go home now.” I wish I could just admit why…it might be nice to have him look after me for a while. He’s always so gentle with me. I wish I could just lay my head on his chest and fall asleep…wow, I have no doubts about a fever now. What am I thinking? Don’t I love Emma…or something? I can’t really think straight. I really don’t feel good.

“Well at least let me walk you home.” Matt offered.

He opened the door to reveal a torrential downpour outside. Lovely. I could stay at Matt’s probably…

No, I decided. I have to go home. Matt was thinking along the same lines.

“Are you sure you want to go home in this?”

I nod and plunge into the downpour. I’m not really sure why, but I just have the need to go.

I stop running when I feel the warm, comforting touch of Matt’s hand on my shoulder. He holds my umbrella above us both (I forgot it at his apartment).

“Idiot. Are you trying to catch pneumonia. I said I would walk you home!”

I am an idiot. I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m dripping wet, held tightly to Matt, who is trying to keep us dry and all I can say is “Sorry.”

“Jake…” He started, but paused, “I will always protect you and be there for you. You’re not telling me something, but I can sense that you need me. And do you know why I care so much about Emma kissing you? Because I love you! I’ve loved you since the day we met! So of course I hate that you love Emma!”

I stood in silent shock after the outburst. What was with all the declarations of love today? I never knew Matt liked me! I’m not even sure how I feel back because I’ve never thought about it before! I could see his face turn pink from embarrassment. I decided this time I should answer the declaration of love.

“I don’t love Emma. She just kissed me. Besides, I can’t love her because I love someone else!”

The words just came out without my consent. What was I thinking? I wasn’t thinking! I have no idea who I meant that I loved, but I just told him I loved someone…my fever must be really bad. Is this really happening?

(Matt’s POV)

“Someone…else?” I repeated. I was very confused. Who could he possibly love?

“Who? Who is it?” I demanded to know.

And he responded “I think…it’s you.”

I couldn’t speak. Did he really just say he loved me? But he said ‘think’, so what does that mean?

“You think or you know?” I ask before taking him in for a kiss.

The rain beats on the umbrella and all around us, but in that moment, everything under the umbrella is still, and quiet. His lips are so soft and warm. I pull him closer to me as he accepts the kiss, no, as he kisses back. My first kiss. I couldn’t be happier.

After the kiss we walk back to my apartment together. I notice Jake is sniffling.

“Let’s hurry so we can dry you off. I’d hate for you to catch a cold.”

“Um…ok,” He responded awkwardly.

We got inside and I found some dry clothes for him to wear while he dried himself with a towel in my bathroom.

“kshhu!”

I hear a half-stifled sneeze from the bathroom. “Bless you,” I comment casually.

“tha-ah, kshhu!” He sneezed in response.

“You’re not catching a cold, are you?” I teased as I handed him warm, dry clothes.

He ignored the question as he put on the clothes. I studied him carefully. Now that I was paying attention, I noticed his face seemed a bit flushed and he didn’t seem as energetic as usual. Maybe he really was getting sick.

I ordered him to sit down on the couch while I made some tea before re-starting the movie.

(Jake’s POV)

I wrapped myself in the blanket Matt brought earlier on the couch. I hated to admit it, but I was really sick. My head was spinning and my nose kept tickling and my skull pounded and my throat stung. All I wanted to do was fall asleep cuddled into Matt. I could feel the tickle in my nose increase and I knew I was going to sneeze again. I hate sneezing in front of people, so I always stifle, even though it hurts. I pinched my nose as my breath hitched towards the inevitable climax.

“ixu! Ixu! Ixu! Hah, ixu!” I groaned as my nose ran profusely and scrambled to find a tissue.

A box magically appeared on the table, then I looked up and saw Matt’s arm attached to it as he placed it down. How embarrassing. I’m a complete mess in front of the person I just confessed my love to.

“Well you’re obviously sick. You look bloody awful.” Matt provided, rather bluntly.

I finally confessed. There was no way I could deny it in this state.

“I feel like shit…” Even my voice sounded tired and sick.

(Matt’s POV)

Poor Jake looked really awful. His face was flushed and his bangs stuck to his forehead and he looked like he was about to fall asleep sitting there. It occurred to me he must have been sick before because there’s no way he would get this sick so quickly after being in the rain. Maybe that was why he wanted to go home. He had been acting a bit off today…I can’t believe I didn’t notice! I feel like I already failed as a boyfriend for not noticing.

I sat down next to him on the couch and leaned his head down onto my lap so he could lay down and fall asleep. I ran my fingers through his hair as the movie started. I watched as his eyelids grew heavy.

“I’ll take care of you, Love.” I whispered to him as he drifted off.

-later that night-

(Jake’s POV)

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling absolutely horrible. And I couldn’t remember how I managed to get into a bed either…

I curled into a ball and bumped my knees into someone. Well that was weird. Who-?

That’s right. I’m at Matt’s apartment, so it’s probably Matt. He could have left me on the couch, but secretly I’m glad he chose to sleep with me. I hate being sick, especially when I’m alone. I guess I really do love him, otherwise I might be freaking out right now…that or I have a really bad fever, which is probably also true…

(Omniscient POV)

The sick boy’s thoughts were broken by a tickle in his nose, which quickly blossomed into a sneeze, which was stifled into his slightly-too-long sleeves. He whimpered and sniffled as he snuggled into the other boy, who was fast asleep. He too was soon asleep, snoring softly.

In the morning, the Canadian boy still found himself in another man’s bed, but without his company. He coughed and sat up slowly, thinking to himself.

“How did I get so sick? I wasn’t anywhere near this sick yesterday…And now I’m stuck at Matt’s place in his bed, no less. I feel like I’m forcing too much on him to take care of me so suddenly.”

He sunk his head into his knees and sneezed several times, using his knees to stifle.

“Bless you. Good morning, Love. How are you feeling?” Matt came in holding two cups of tea.

Jake just moaned, muffled into his knees, in response.

“Not so good I take it?” The British boy frowned. He walked over to the bed and placed a hand on the younger boy’s warm forehead. He gave a ‘tsk’ and went to get some medicine.

The sick boy lifted his face a little and asked, “Where are you going? *sniffle*” in what Matt thought was the most adorable way possible.

“To get some medicine. I’ll be right back, don’t worry!” was the response.

“No cold medicine, just fever.” The sick boy instructed.

“Are you sure? You’ll feel better if I give you cold medicine. Or are you one of those people that think taking too much medicine is a bad thing? Because I assure you, you’re definitely sick enough to warrant taking medicine. It won’t kill you!”

The response surprised the blonde boy.

“Actually…I’m allergic to cold medicines and the reaction could possibly kill me…” He nervously glanced away.

Stunned, the Englishman uttered out a most eloquent response (or not), “Oh. Well, um. I’m sorry. That’s got to suck. Well no cold medicine it is! But you said medicine for just the fever was okay?”

“Yeah.”

The British boy came back with medicine and fed it to the sick one.

“Drink this tea. It’ll make you feel better.” He offered him one of the cups of tea he had brought in earlier. The Canadian silently accepted the tea and sipped it.

After a few sips, the raven haired boy asked in a stuffed up, sniffling voice, “Can you show me how to make tea later?”

“You don’t know how to make tea??” The Brit replied, incredulously and continued, “Okay, since you’re not English I can forgive that. I will show you the English way of making perfect tea! When you feel well enough to get out of bed, anyway.”

(Jake’s POV)

It’s not like I don’t drink tea just because I’m not British. I do. I just can’t cook anything to save my life. But I think if he teaches me, I think I can make it. I just have a feeling. Or maybe the fever again. It’s hard to think with a pounding, stuffed up head and a fever.

(Matt’s POV)

After finishing his tea, my cute, sniffly boy cuddled into me. I have waited so long for this day! It’s a shame he isn’t feeling well. I want to kiss him all over, but he probably wouldn’t let me.

I wrapped the blankets around him as he shivered, kissing his forehead and reassuring him. “The medicine should kick in soon and hopefully that fever will be gone.” He felt disturbingly warm. I really hoped the medicine would be effective.

He’s somehow still absolutely adorable even when he’s sick. His sniffles and his voice with the cold on top of the accent are just too cute! With anyone else I would think it was disgusting, but with Jake it’s okay. He could do anything and I would still love him. Even kiss a girl…my thoughts drifted to the previous evening. I frowned. What if he has feelings for Emma still? He didn’t really seem to know what he was saying and I just took advantage of him. Does he really love me, or did he just say it? But he wouldn’t lie to me about that, would he?

“Do you love me? Do you really love me and not just a maybe/fever-thing?”

“Yes.” His response was quick, and confident.

I couldn’t help myself. I squeezed him in a hug “I love you so much!”

This squeeze apparently surprised him, because he lost his balance and fell over sideways on my bed. I couldn’t help but laugh, still holding on.

“Sorry I don’t feel well. I wish I felt better so we could do something more fun than laying in bed all day.”

After chasing the dirty thoughts out of my head, I reprimanded him, “Never apologize for being sick. You can’t help that sort of thing. And I’m sure we could make things more interesting. I have a few video games we could play if we move to the couch…”

I glanced to see his reaction and what I got was better than anything I could imagine.

He had the cutest, most excited face. His sapphire eyes looked really big and seemed to say “videogames? Yes please!” and his whole body seemed to perk up at the mention of videogames.

“I take it you love video games?” He blushed at my ability to read him so well.

“It doesn’t matter what game it is, I’ll beat you! Even sick!” He said with a smile.

“We’ll see about that!” I challenge, as I helped him up to the couch.

After a several rounds of being thoroughly beaten in Mario Kart, COD and every other game I own, I decided to suggest something else.

“Are you feeling up to making some tea? I noticed you were coughing a bit more, so I figured your throat was getting sore.”

“Yeah. Teach me how to make tea!” He said, sounding absolutely sick. He seemed really excited, though. I had no idea tea was exciting, but every little thing he does makes me fall more and more in love with him.

I had no idea he liked videogames so much! What a dork! But I love that about him. Though I’ll probably have to play them more often or it won’t be much fun for either of us. You can only get so much enjoyment out of completely devastating your opponent over and over…

(Jake’s POV)

I watched nervously as Matt talked through how to make tea. He made it look really easy, so he gave me the confidence to try.

I tried to replicate his actions as he went to find me some tissues. My nose was running again but I refused to move until I made tea, or passed out, whichever came first. Hopefully the tea.

I was feeling better now that my fever was gone, but I still felt like shit.

I stared at the tea I’d made. Something wasn’t right. I knew I’d mess it up…

Matt came in with a box of tissues for me and inspected my tea with the greatest poker face I had ever seen.

“How did you…what is this?”

I sighed. I knew I messed it up.

“I…I forgot how you made it…” I mumbled out.

“It’s cold and there are tea leaves in the tea. What did you possibly do to mess up tea? Let me watch you this time.”

“You want me to make it again?” I was disheartened. I didn’t feel like making it again after screwing it up so badly.

He watched me this time, stopping me as I went to open a tea bag.

“You don’t open the bag and you put that in last.” Oops.

“You turn the stove on to heat up the water.” Oh right- the stove.

“Wait until it boils…then turn the stove off. That step is really important.” Okay. I have to remember to turn the stove off after it ‘boils’…whatever that means. I should probably ask…

“What does ‘boils’ mean?”

“…seriously?”

“Yes.”

“You can’t cook, can you?” Crap, he found me out...I shook my head to the ground, no.

He sighed and smiled and scooped me into his arms.

“I love you Jake-y! Now blow your nose. I can barely understand your words.” I’m not a fan of pet names, but when he said it, it sounded okay.

I blew my nose quietly as he fixed the tea (made completely new tea). I still hadn’t managed to make tea, but maybe next time if he helped me more I could make it…

(Matt’s POV)

So Jake is the type of person to hide his weaknesses. That makes sense since he is so popular and respected. It’s cute, in a way, but also very annoying when I’m trying to help him.

I had to try really hard not to laugh at the ‘tea’ he made. I didn’t want to upset him, but it was really bad! (And I didn’t even drink it.) In a way, even that was cute. I just won’t expect him to make breakfast any time soon!

(Jake’s POV)

I sat on the couch and studied my reflection in the black screen of the television. I looked like a sick mess. My hair went in every direction, my nose was pink and drippy, and I was sniffling, hunched over a mug of tea wearing sweatpants, a t-shirt, and an Oxford hoodie, all in one size too big. I felt really small in Matt’s clothes. I never realized how much bigger he was than me, but he wasn’t fat, just really muscular and tall and I’m kind of…well, average. I don’t get what he sees in me. I’m not exceptionally attractive or anything. I guess I’m pretty popular, but it’s not like I chose to be. And I’m good at a few sports, but he’s much more physically fit than me. I just don’t get it. Oh crap, the steam from the tea is gonna make me sneeze!

(Matt’s POV)

I noticed as Jake’s breath started to hitch and I removed the cup of tea from his hand, so he wouldn’t spill it.

“Bless you.” I said preemptively.

He brought his hands up to his nose after I took the mug away and stifled a few sneezes into them. I pulled his hands down. “Don’t stifle! It’s bad for you!” He looked like he was about to sneeze some more but I wouldn’t let go of his hands.

He turned away from me and sneezed, “tchoo! Ahtchoo! *sniffle* ATCHOO!” He sneezed rather harshly after a very liquid sniffle.

“Why’d you do that?” He asked, with a touch of anger, completely stuffed up.

“I don’t want you to stifle. It hurts you. Just sneeze normally around me, I don’t mind. Everyone sneezes.”

Jake grabbed a tissue and pressed it to his nose with a liquid sniffle. After blowing his nose, his voice sounded just as congested as before, minus the sniffles.

“But it’s gross. I’m not doing that.”

“I don’t think it’s gross. I’m going to med school remember? That kind of stuff doesn’t bother me.”

This statement seemed to satisfy him and he sighed and leaned into me.

“I don’t feel good.”

“I know, Love.” I ran my fingers through his hair again. It was quite messy, but of course I thought it was cute, because it’s Jake and everything about him is cute.

After-Story Notes:

Even when I try to write a serious story, it still makes me laugh…oh well.

I do know someone who is allergic to cold medicine. It really sucks to be them. And to be my character. Mwahaha!

I didn’t feel the need to describe Emma as a character because you know enough about her from the story for the plot. She’s really not very important. And for the record, in my head, she’s blonde with curled (as in styled) hair. I’m not sure why all the British people are blonde in my head. Probably Hetalia. But then Jake would be blonde too…haha

I unintentionally made Jake sound really moe. He’s not wimpy, I promise hahaha

In my head, Jake can even be a bit tsundrere at times XD

Next post I will start the drabbles, and they may be short or long, who knows. It's whatever I feel like :P

*crossed fingers* I hope you like it as much as I do~

Prompt: Fall

Sneezing: Jake, random

Word count: 146

“You were the one who wanted to go ice skating and now you want to leave?”

Jake sighed as he helped Matt stand on the ice, once again.

“Yeah, I keep falling and it hurts. How are you so good at it?” The blonde boy rubbed his sore butt.

“I’ve been doing this since I was little, that’s how.” The shorter boy answered, “Here, grab my hand and I’ll help you.”

The blonde agreed, not wanting to fall for a fiftieth time. They managed to make it halfway around the rink before Matt slipped and fell, once more, but this time, spraying ice chips everywhere.

“Hey! You got ice up my nose! And now I have to-ha-hatchoo!” The Canadian sneezed.

“Bless you, now help me up please?”

“Well I guess I can’t leave you there…” Jake winked and pulled his boyfriend up for what certainly wouldn’t be the last time that day.

One more for now? Matt this time. I haven't tortured him yet, I mean whaaaat?

Prompt: Promise

Sneezing: Matt, cold

Word Count: 240

Matt pulled the suit jacket on and sighed. Tonight was the last night he wanted to go anywhere fancy, but he had already promised Jake a nice date. No turning back now.

He frowned at his face in the mirror. His face was pale with bags under the eyes and his nose had a slight pinkness from the cold he had woken up with.

His heart dropped as he heard a knock at the door. This was going to be a long night, all because of some promise he made a month ago. He mentally kicked himself for that as he went to answer the door.

Jake stood at the door looking very sexy in his suit with his hair styled and his smile dazzling. He immediately went to kiss his boyfriend, who tuned his head, leaving the kiss on the cheek.

The dazzling smile disappeared and a worried look filled the sapphire eyes.

“Mattie, what’s wrong?”

Before Matt could answer, his nose decided to answer for him.

“ikshuu! ikshuuu!”

“You have a cold?” Matt glanced downward and frowned. Jake continued, “Well if you’re not feeling well we could just stay here tonight.”

“No! I promised you so we have to go!”

Jake smiled. “You promised me a ‘wonderful night with just the two of us’. That doesn’t mean we can’t spend that ‘wonderful night’ together on the couch watching scary movies and eating takeout pizza.”

“I love you. Iskhuuu!”

@obsessed- thank you! :3

I'm kinda bored, so I keep writing them XD

This set has an allergies one (They probably won't be very common so I'm pointing it out.)

Prompt: Internet

Sneezing: Jake, allergies

Word Count: 259

“Your computer has a virus?” The raven-haired boy asked into the phone.

“I think so. I was hoping you could fix it since you know a lot about computers.”

“You just assume I’ll fix everything?”

“…” The blonde wasn’t sure what to think.

“Of course I’ll fix it, I just like messing with you. I’ll be right over” The younger boy teased.

At Matt’s apartment, Jake spotted the slightly outdated computer in the corner of the room. After tinkering with it for an hour, he mumbled, “You need to be more careful on the internet. Don’t look at so much porn.”

“I don’t look at porn!” The blonde protested.

“I love making you blush.” Which of course, made Matt blush.

Jake pulled out the giant computer tower, coughing a bit.

“This thing is covered in dust. Have you ever dusted it?”

“Nope, but I can now!” And with that, Matt took a duster and flung all the dust towards Jake.

“Hey! Ah-atchuuu! Chu! Chu! Atchu!” he paused for breath, “haptchuu! Kshoo kshoo kshoo…”

He reached for a tissue on the desk with a sneezy look still on his face.

“I hate-hah-atchuu! Ah-achoo! Hate you…” and he continued to sneeze for several minutes.

“That’s my revenge for all the mean things you say to me!”

“*sniffle* You do know –atchuuu!—You asked me to fu-fixyour –atchuu!—ugh computer, right? –atchuu!”

“ah, yeah. But are you alright? Did I go too far?” The blonde worried.

“No. *sniffle* But you’re cute when you worry.” And he flashed him his trademark grin.

Prompt: Calculating

Sneezing: Jake, cold

Word Count: 162

(Matt’s POV)

Give me any science and I can ace it, but math is a different story. That’s why I’m really glad to have Jake around to help me with my homework. He’s a math major, so he always knows how to do my homework. Lucky me!

(Omniscient POV)

“How do you do this again?” The blonde asked, frustrated.

“That one’s easy.”

“You say that about all of them.”

“They’re all easy.”

“Well if it’s so easy, tell me how to do it.”

“Okay you…htchuu!” The Canadian boy turned his head away and sneezed, then continued explaining the problem, sneezing in the middle of every step.

“Bless you, Love. If you’re that sick, you don’t have to help me.” The blonde worried.

And in a sniffly, congested voice, he whined, “but it’s fun.”

The British boy decided to make an ultimatum.

“If you sneeze one more time, I’m going to shut this book and carry you to the bed. Got it?”

“atchuu!”

Prompt: Music

Sneezing: Matt, cold

Word Count: 228

Matt’s fingers stroked the keys of the piano gently and perfectly to create a beautiful melody that filled the apartment.

Jake admired this about him. He loved the music the British boy played.

But today, the flowing notes of the song were broken by the occasional sneeze.

Matt had a bit of a cold, but insisted on playing piano to relax a bit.

“Interesting song you’re playing. It sounds like Beethoven and then some sneezes.” The blue-eyed boy commented sarcastically.

“I’m fine. It’s just a cold.” The blonde mumbled as he wiped his nose quickly with his finger, without missing a beat.

“Your music is beautiful babe, but don’t you think you should be in bed? You look feverish.”

The black-haired boy looked genuinely concerned. His blue eyes focused on his boyfriend, studying him for more signs of illness.

Then the Canadian smiled mischievously. “I bet you can’t play a whole song without sneezing.”

“And what do you bet?”

“I’ll pay for our next diner out together.”

“And if I lose?”

“Then you have to come to bed.”

“Can you come, too at least?”

“Of course.”

“Challenge accepted!”

Two notes in, and Jake won his bet.

“At least I get you out of this bet.”

“You always have me” Jake whispered as he kissed the feverish boy’s forehead and neck tenderly.

“I love you.”

“I love you more.”

Prompt: Magic

Sneezing: Jake, cold

Word Count: 88

A certain English boy stepped into the bedroom holding a tray of pancakes, Jake’s favorite breakfast.

The younger boy was curled up in the blankets, sniffling.

“I made pancakes.” Jake sneezed in response.

He had caught Matt’s cold and felt pretty miserable.

“If you turn down pancakes, then I’ll know I need to take you to the hospital.” The blonde joked.

This made the sick boy smile as he took the pancakes and syrup on a tray.

“How do you make these, magic?”

“Sure, magic.” The blonde giggled.

Matt, anime style

Prompt: Hot/Cold

Sneezing: Matt and Jake, flu

Word Count: 117

“Can you pass me a tissue? I have to sneeze again…”

Matt passed his sneezy boyfriend another tissue as he shivered and pulled the blankets on them.

“tchooo!” The dark haired boy sneezed into the tissue and groaned. “Take the blankets off, it’s hot!” He complained.

“But I’m freezing!” The blonde whined.

“It’s just your fever. Atchuuu! *sniffle*”

“Bless you. Not like you don’t have one, too. Why am I always cold when you’re hot and hot when you’re cold? Ugh all your sneeziness is rubbing off.”

Jake passed him a tissue as his breath hitched.

“tchooo!” “ikshuuu!” They sneezed in unison.

“Okay, I’m cold now.” Jake pulled the covers to his chin.

“Great, now I’m hot.”

Prompt: Fake and Idiot (Really long, so I combined them)

Sneezing: Matt, cold

Word Count: 638

Jake glanced at his phone for the hundredth time that hour. Matt had been avoiding him all day and he was starting to think he had done something to upset the boy. He had been debating whether to call him for the past hour, but instead decided to confront him in person. Still, he was a bit nervous.

Remembering that Matt needed to study and his favorite place for doing so was the library, he checked there first. He poked his head around the bookshelves, and, sure enough, Matt was sitting at a table with a large stack of books next to him, diligently reading one.

Jake took a deep breath before approaching the blonde. He casually marched over and sat across from him, glaring at him, frowning, with his arms on the desk and fingers laced.

The blonde felt the piercing sapphire eyes on his forehead and glanced up.

“Oh, hey…” The British boy whispered nervously as the Canadian continued to stare silently.

“Right, let’s go outside then.” Matt suggested, whispering.

The dark haired boy continued to stare at the other with a piercing glare until they were outside of the library.

“Why are you just staring at me? It’s scary! Stop!” The Canadian’s eyes softened.

“I just wanted to know why you were avoiding me. Do you hate me or something?” He glanced diagonally down as he spoke and touched his index fingertips together nervously.

The blonde laughed a bit, earning a face of angry shock from the smaller man.

Then he explained, “Oh, I don’t hate you or anything. I’m just not feeling well today and I didn’t want to get you sick!”

The blue eyes glared again and he frowned. “Idiot! Running away from me just because you’re sick! I don’t believe that for a second!”

“Ixhuuu!” The blonde boy sneezed into his collar.

“You don’t have to fake sneezes to prove your little lie. I get it.” Jake said, with a touch of hurt.

“No, that was real.”

“Why won’t you tell me the real reason?” the younger boy demanded.

“I did! I’m sick. Do you want to find out if I’m telling the truth because I can sneeze on you and if you get sick, you’ll know I’m telling the truth!” The blonde shouted, exasperated.

“…” The raven-haired boy was stunned into silence.

“So do you want to try that?” He offered, sarcastically.

“…No, that’s okay. I’ll take your word for it. But if you really are sick then why didn’t you just tell me before?”

“Um, I hadn’t thought of that.”

“Idiot.” He scoffed.

The blonde sniffled and rubbed his nose with his hand.

“You don’t seem very sick, but I guess I believe you. But you don’t have to run from me just so I won’t catch your disease, you know. You know I’ll be happy to take care of you. Or did you forget that?” Sapphire eyes met Emerald, making Matt’s heart melt.

“I’m sorry, I just felt really awful this morning. The only reason I’m still standing is because I’m all drugged up right now. I didn’t want to make you feel as horrible as I feel, Love.”

Jake sighed. “Idiot. You know I don’t care about that. Now let’s get you to bed. You can study later,” he said in the cold, but sweet tone Matt loved.

“So would you care if I sneezed on you, then?” He joked.

“Yes, yes I would.”

“But it’s okay for you to sneeze on me!” The blonde mocked.

Noticeably flustered, the Canadian fiddled with his hands nervously as he talked, “Um, that’s-that’s because…um, w-well you let me! I wouldn’t do it otherwise…” He blushed and looked away.

The British boy whispered, “You’re cute,” as he kissed the top of Jake’s raven locks.

He covered his blush with his hands, “Idiot!”

A/N I feel like their personalities really shine in this one haha. They're both so cute *w*

FOUR MORE! Funny how I can turn these things out but when it comes time to write an essay I can never write enough words...

Prompt: Sports

Sneezing: Matt, could be cold or allergies, whatever you want to think :)

Word Count: 248

Matt watched as the object of his love darted across the field, kicking the ball with perfect control. There was no doubt he was the star of the team, despite being the only non-English player.

The blonde was in the stands at every game, without exception and made sure to cheer loudly when Jake scored.

Unfortunately, today Matt couldn’t cheer very loudly because his voice was messed up from his sinuses. The entire game, he sneezed, but refused to leave.

Jake glanced up to the stands and could instantly spot his blonde boyfriend. He smiled. Just knowing he was there made his heart leap. He looked away as he sprung into action, guarding his man on the opposing team, but the smile never left his face.

After the game, He ran up to hug Matt.

“You did brilliant, Love! I’m so proud of you!” The British boy said hoarsely.

“You sound awful, babe. Did you cheer too much or something?” He said with a cockeyed smile.

The blonde smiled sadly. “No, my voice was messed up before. I’ve been…” He trailed off as his facial expression changed and he turned to the side, “Ixxxuuu! Ixxxu!” He sneezed into the back of his hand.

“Bless you. Are you getting sick?” The football star looked worried.

“Not sure. Could be allergies. Let’s get inside and have some tea.”

Jake just smiled at his silly boy, and shook his head at his stubbornness, knowing there was nothing he could do to stop him.

Prompt: Fight

Sneezing: Jake, cold

Word Count: 1365 o.O

This one will be a bit long and plotty, sorry! It takes place shortly after the introductory story. I guess this is too long to be considered a drabble, but how am I supposed to do a short one for a prompt like “fight”? That requires drama, duh.

Sunny Emma bounced up to her new ‘boyfriend’ at lunch.

“Oh, hi Emma.” Jake acknowledged her nervously. He wasn’t sure what to think after the whole love confession from a few days ago, and then the kiss, and then, later the same night, the other declaration of love and kiss with Matt shortly after. He felt guilty for betraying Emma like that. But he also felt like he had done the right thing by trusting his heart.

“I’m glad you’re feeling better,” she continued in her chipper voice, “We should go on our first date tonight! Since you’re my boyfriend now.”

Everyone at the table, including Jake thought, “Wait! When did this happen?”

“Um, Emma I need to talk to you, let’s go.” And Jake quickly pulled her outside for privacy.

He explained shortly, “Emma. I’m not your boyfriend. I don’t like you in that way, so please stop.”

“Then why did you kiss me? Jerk!” She seemed very angry and about to cry.

“You just surprised me, that’s all! I’m sorry Emma. Please don’t hate me.”

“I bet there’s someone else you love. That’s why you’re breaking up with me,” she said hotly.

“I can’t break up with someone I never-“

She cut him off, “Is it Lauren? Or Alice? You flirt with them. You’re such a cheater!”

He gave up, “Emma….Fine. I do love someone else.”

“I hate you, bastard-wanker!” And with that, the blonde girl tore across the courtyard sobbing.

“What was all that about?” Jake stood wondering.

Matt joined him outside. “What did you tell her?”

“That I didn’t love her and I love someone else,” he said vaguely as he stared at the stop where Emma ran off.

“Good. Let’s go back and eat now.” He reached for Jake’s hand, but it was brushed away. Matt looked hurt.

“You don’t want to hold my hand?”

Jake paused nervously; “I don’t want everyone to know just yet…” he trailed off toward the ground, not looking at Matt while he spoke.

“Do you love me or not?” Matt asked, trying to mask his hurt and anger.

“Of course.”

“Then why do you care what other people think?”

“I just…I don’t want to upset people, especially Emma. I made her cry, Matt. I feel like the scum of the Earth right now!”

“So you won’t hold my hand because you don’t want to upset Emma. I see how it is. Don’t bother coming over tonight or ever again!”

“What did I do wrong?” He stood in solitude as an icy feeling filled his chest.

The next few days, Jake seemed out of it and not his usual self. Matt and Emma ignored him or glared at him, if they were forced to be in the same room together. Every time Jake called, Matt would ignore it. After a few days, Jake didn’t show up for lunch, so Emma decided to text him.

She typed, “Why did you skip out on lunch? Are you trying to avoid me or something? I still love you Jake <3 I’m willing to give you another chance!”

Jake heard his phone go off for the first time in days. He saw that it was Emma and groaned a bit, but read it anyway. “That’s awfully generous of her,” he thought sarcastically. Then he replied, “I’m not skipping. I’m sick.” And that was the truth. He had stayed up late at night for the last few nights worrying about what he did to wreck two relationships in one day, and brainstorming ideas on how to get Matt back, and, consequently, had literally ‘worried himself sick’.

Emma texted back, “:) I’ll bring you some soup then! <3”

Jake wished Matt would text that…

-Later-

Jake sniffled as he went to answer the door. It was probably Emma, but he secretly hoped it was Matt.

Unfortunately for Jake, the platinum-pigtailed cheerleader stood at the door, holding a bowl of what he presumed was soup.

“I brought you soup!” Emma stated, obviously.

“Thanks…” Jake mumbled in his sick, congested voice.

“You look really sick.” Emma stared at him with her vacant, makeup-coated baby blue eyes.

Jake thought to himself, “Does this girl say anything remotely intelligent?”

“So you’re not mad at me anymore? Ktchu!” He stifled a sneeze.

“Bless you! Of course not! I love you!” And she squeezed him in a tight hug.

Jake thought to himself, “Well that’s one less person who wants me dead. I wish Matt would say those words. I really miss him.”

He said his goodbyes to Emma and thanked her for the soup. He would eat it later, but now he just didn’t feel like eating. There was no way he could feel better with Matt still mad at him.

Jake accepted the soup and put it on the (completely empty) kitchen counter and sulked back to bed.

Hours later, the sick boy woke up to the door ringing once again.

“Who could that be?” He wondered.

He shuffled to the door, sneezing on the way. He looked through the peephole and couldn’t believe his eyes. He stood at the door while the bell rang again, not knowing whether or not to open the door. Eventually, he decided to open the door. After all, it’s what he had wanted, right?

Matt came inside without asking and shut the door. He stood at the entrance with a cold, heavy aura and his hands shoved in his pockets, looking slightly disinterested. He glanced up and examined the face of his ex-lover.

“You didn’t tell me you were sick.”

“It’s just a cold.”

Matt couldn’t keep his anger in any longer.

“I still don’t forgive you for basically disowning our relationship the other day, but I can’t stand not being around you anymore. So I’ll give you a chance to make it up to me.”

Jake looked at the ground, dejected. He had hoped Matt would be the loving and cheerful guy he loved, but, instead, he got a cold, angry one. The icy feeling in his chest tightened and he broke into a fit of coughing. He dropped to his knees as it became hard to breathe.

Matt felt conflicted. He was supposed to be mad at him, but he wanted more than anything to just scoop the sick boy into his arms and give him kisses all over.

He knelt down and started rubbing the younger man’s back, “You dummy, I leave you for three days by yourself and you go and get yourself sick,” he said with just a hint of kindness in his scolding voice.

It was just too hard to stay mad when Jake looked so pathetic and helpless.

All the sick boy could manage to say was “sorry,” buried between harsh coughing fits.

Matt sighed. The boy had managed to make all his anger vanish, like magic. He sure was something else. He helped him up and made him sit on the couch, sitting next to him.

With his best puppy-dog eyes, Matt stared into Jake’s and took his hands in his lap. “Jake I miss you, and I love you and I didn’t mean anything from the other day. I don’t care if you’re not ready to hold my hand. I just want to be your boyfriend.”

Jake hugged him tightly in response, implying ‘I missed you, too.” He looked so happy, like he was about to cry.

The two locked stayed in the embrace for a while, with Jake occasionally muffling a sneeze into the older boy’s chest. Matt broke the hug and grabbed Jake a tissue. “Atchuuu!” He sneezed into the tissue and blew his nose.

“I love you, Matt. I’m sorry and I wasn’t thinking and I was so worried you wouldn’t like me anymore and I thought you hated me and-”

He was cut off as Matt took his lips into his own and kissed him deeply.

Jake pulled away and swiftly sneezed three times into his sleeve, “Atchuuu! Chuu! Chuuu!”

He rubbed his sore, red nose and mumbled, “sorry.”

“Let’s get you to bed,” Matt led the boy with his hand on his lower back, winking, “Then when you’re feeling better, we can have makeup sex.”

Prompt: Poison

Sneezing: Matt, cold

Word Count: 254

Jake worked quietly in the kitchen, determined to do things right. He tried to follow the instructions, but sometimes they were confusing to him. He finally completed his ‘masterpiece’ and brought a tray with breakfast into the bedroom, where Matt was still fast asleep. Hands shaking, Jake set the tray down. Normally, he was only nervous when it came to dealing with angry people, but this morning he had given his best attempt at making breakfast for Matt; something he had never done before.

He kissed the blonde’s forehead and whispered, “Wake up, Mattie, I have a surprise for you.”

Green eyes opened sleepily as the British boy sat up groggily, muffling a sneeze into the blankets. “Surprise?” he mumbled, half asleep.

Jake fiddled with his hands nervously, “I um, tried to make you breakfast,” he said timidly, with the volume trailing off towards the end.

“Jake speak up, I can’t understand you.”

“I made you breakfast!” He presented the tray confidently.

“Ixhuuu!” The blonde sneezed.

The Canadian’s confidence quickly faded, “Um, I tried my best, so I hope it’s good. I hope it doesn’t poison you or anything…”

Matt smiled nervously and sniffled, “Oh, now I’m scared!” He teased.

He took a bite of the unidentifiable object number one on the tray. Jake bit his lip and waited for the verdict.

“It’s probably horrible. But I’m so stuffed up, I can’t taste it!” Matt said cheerfully as he took another bite.

“If you weren’t sick, I would punch you.”

“I love you, too.”

Prompt: Assignment

Sneezing: Jake, cold

Word Count: 181

“How can you understand any of that?” Jake looked over Matt’s shoulder at his microbiology textbook, “It’s like complete nonsense. Atchooo!” He turned away to sneeze and proceeded to find a tissue for his dripping nose.

“The biology behind a cold is actually pretty interesting.” Matt commented.

Jake sniffled into the tissue, “Can you explain why I have to sneeze so mu-much-” He snatched another tissue and prepared for another sneeze. “Tchuuuuu! AHCHUUU! ahCHEH!” He sneezed harshly.

“Bless you. It’s just your body getting rid of all the dead cells. You see, the cold virus invades the cells in your nose and throat and takes those cells over and orders them to make more cold viruses. Then your immune system has to find those hijacked cells and destroy them before they get the chance to explode, releasing thousands of manufactured cold viruses. Either way, the hijacked cells die, but if your immune system can find them first, then you don’t have so many viruses running around in your body.”

“Atchuuuu!” Jake sniffled thickly into the now soaking tissue, “I hate biology.”

Oh my god so many comments!!! *happysquealhappysqueal* I apologize for the lack of personalized thank-you's this time, but I really do appreciate every single one of them! They make me happy like you wouldn't believe~ I also go back and read them over and over again

Ok I woke up sick with a cold flu-like thing this morning (probably karma for torturing these boys so much), so please excuse me if my writing is a bit off today...my brain is not working as well as I want it to.

Prompt: Unfair

Sneezing: Jake, random

Word Count: 137

“Heh, Atchuu! Stop that!” Jake brought his hands up to block his nose.

“But it’s fun! Who knew- all I have to do is lightly kiss your nose and you sneeze! I think it’s adorable. (And hilarious.)”

“It is NOT adorable!” He dodged the English man’s attempts to move his hands away.

The blonde man taunted him, “Why are you running away from me? I won’t hurt you…much,” he smiled sinisterly.

In a twist of events, “It’s my turn, then!” The raven-haired boy declared as he grabbed Matt by the arms and held them down while he lightly kissed the tip of the British boy’s nose. He waited for a sneeze…but nothing happened.

He smiled at Jake, “It doesn’t work on me!”

“That’s so unfair!” He whined.

And Matt went back to torturing his poor boyfriend’s sensitive nose!

A/N: It seems Jake’s nose is sensitive to a light touch… (and also to sunlight!)

So as not to confuse anyone: Matt does not have a fetish; it just amuses him to have that kind of ‘control’ over Jake, whom he sees as always being better than him at things (except cooking). So he enjoys his win. Jake hates losing.

Prompt: Frail

Sneezing: Jake, cold

Word Count: 254

“Atchooo!”

Matt opened his sleepy eyes and pulled his lover closer to cuddle. “Good morning, Love. Did you just sneeze?”

“No. Heh, Atchuu! Hah, ah, atchuuu!”

Matt sighed, “Liar.” “…”

Jake sniffled in the awkward silence that followed.

“Can you please get me a tissue?”

Matt silently handed him a tissue to blow his nose. “You’re sick again, aren’t you? And don’t lie to me again, I can always tell.”

“Probably. I just woke up and I’m already stuffy and ‘bleh’.”

“You’re ‘bleh’?” He mocked.

Matt started kissing his lover’s messy raven locks (as he liked giving physical affection in the mornings) as Jake spoke.

“I hate getting sick all the time. It’s embarrassing and burdensome and it makes me feel weak and pathetic. I hate it.”

“It’s your only weakness, so of course you hate it.” Matt pointed out, continuing to kiss Jake on his face and neck.

“I’m sure it’s not my only one…”

“In my eyes, you are perfect. And I never mind taking care of you, so don’t worry about that. You probably just get sick a lot because you do fifty-million things but never seem stressed about anything. So your body probably just gets sick instead of stressed.”

“I guess that makes sense. I’m glad you don’t mind because I like when you take care of me.”

His honesty made Matt blush and he squeezed Jake tightly in a hug, “You’re so cute when you’re honest like that! I love you.”

“Please let go, I have to sneeze again…”

A/N: I added this to the characterization because I noticed that I disproportionately make Jake sneeze more than Matt…oops

I'll do Matt next time

I hope these don't suck lol

Thank you!

Now that I'm feeling better, here's more!

Prompt: Alcohol

Sneezing: Matt, cold

Word Count: 353

The night started with an innocent conversation between four friends about how they behaved when they were drunk. When it came Jake’s turn, he explained that he had never been drunk before. And with that, tonight’s plans were decided. Matt was going to get Jake drunk, whether he liked it or not. I mean, he was practically asking for it in the mischievous Matt’s eyes.

-The two of them, in Matt’s apartment-

Matt grinned, almost evilly, as he poured two glasses of wine, handing one to his boyfriend.

“I can’t wait to see what you act like drunk!”

The brunette laughed nervously, “Yeah, I guess…”

“And If I’m plastered, I’ll forget all about this bloody cold.” The blonde sniffled.

-Two bottles of wine and half a bottle of whiskey later…-

The Canadian was straddling the English man, running his hands through blonde, wavy locks and running kisses up and down his neck. The blonde sneezed, careful not to spray his lover too much.

The usually reserved man pulled the British man’s lips to his own and passionately kissed him. After the kiss, he went back to kissing his neck, while slowly unbuttoning the older man’s shirt.

He smiled, “I really like drunk Jake. This needs to happen more often. Ixxhuu!” He sneezed to the side as he assisted the younger man with removing his shirt. Jake flashed him a devilish smile and flirtatious eyes.

He nibbled the blonde man’s ear and whispered, “Are you sure you want to? You have a cold…”

“I always want sex with you, Jake.” He fiercely made out with his lover for a bit, before they decided to take it to the bedroom…

-The next morning…-

Jake groaned as his head pounded from the hangover. “Remind me never to drink that much again.”

Matt muffled a sneeze into his pillow and then cuddled his lover. “But we had so much fun~” he whispered flirtatiously in his ear.

Jake sneezed into his sleeve. “And you gave me your cold, too! You bastard…”

Matt cuddled his tsundere lover, sniffling, as he ruffled his hair. “You’re so cute.” “Don’t touch me.”
