I Hate My Ohio Nose!

I would say I'm a slightly above average sneezer in terms of quantity, but it seems like ever since I moved back to Ohio my nose is broken. I sneeze less than half what I used to sneeze in Maryland on a daily basis and it's really pissing me off! Most people would be thrilled that their allergies aren't as bad when they move to a new location, but I am so annoyed! I even spend more time then is probably healthy at my friend's house so I can be around her stupid cat hoping to have an allergy attack.

My Ohio nose sucks ... I want my Maryland nose back!

Note - I put this in general discussion because it is sneeze related. I was debating between this and the snake pit. If any mods feel it is necessary to move it, feel free!

That's funny you say that. My bestfriend lives in Maryland and I remember that when I went out to visit her once over Labor Day, I was SO sneezy. It was crazy. I'd never reacted that way before. It was pretty cool actually. :P

Hopefully you'll get your sneeziness back soon. :nohappy:

It's a lovely nose, wherever it is! Now how to make it sneezier... I think pepper is the only answer....

Ohio Nose must surely be the title of some traditional, folk or classic standard song; You know, "the sun shines bright on my old Ohio nose..."

Ouch, pepper wasn't very nice to Lal's nose last time she used it for making Youtube clips, so let's hope she can get sneezy without having to succumb to those things. :)

Thanks for the sneezy wishes everyone!

Dawnie - That is interesting that Maryland made you sneezier too!! I wonder what it is in that state!

Count - Thanks for the compliment on my nose, but I do not think I will ever resort to pepper again.

Chanel - Thanks for listening to my "pepper" wav, and even MORE thanks for not wanting me to suffer through that again!!!

That's interesting because I'm (sort of) the opposite. I moved from California to Ohio and while I had allergies in CA, they were nothing compared to what happens to me here. Of course, CA is probably a different climate than Maryland (never been, so I don't know), but still.

Anyway, I hope things change for you! There will be plenty of time once fall really sets in...

You're welcome. :) I burned my nose with pepper once too, it was dreadful and I wanted to sneeze and cough constantly for an entire day after that. So I know how it feels, and yeah... not pleasant. ;)

Blasphemy! Your nose is mega cute no matter what state it's being allergic in.

And can I also say how cute it is that you thought this might be considered a rant?:) You're so bad, Lalena! Go straight to the Pit! Do not pass go! Do not collect $200!

Maybe it will just be sneezer at a different time of year? I'm also in the midwest and usually have some kind of allergies in the fall. Wait and see what happens :P

Joal - While I do miss many things from Maryland, it's not enough to leave my family again to come back ... sorry friend. Ask again once winter starts, lol. I may change my mind when we have 20 inches of snow and still have to go to school. I will miss getting snow days for the CHANCE of snow ... Also, it there a reason we never met up during the 4 years I lived there?

VFP - Thanks! You are too sweet. And it is a rant for me! LOL! I had to clean up my language to put this post here :D

Rayman - I hope you are right. When I grew up in Ohio I didn't have too many seasonal allergies, but things were definitely worst on fall and spring in Maryland. Hopefully things will pick up again as fall gets closer.

That's too bad B) Well all we can do is hope something happens allergy-wise to get your Ohio Nose working more like your Maryland Nose ;) But I agree with Joal! Whichever nose you've got now is still fine with us :P:hug:

Um, hate to post-jack, but Lalena, is the Maryland/Virginia area generally pretty good for allergy season(s)? Good as in more people who have allergies and/or some people, yourself for instance, having "worse" allergies. Thanks in advance :)

Sorry I am just now getting to this ... I have been pretty busy!

I would say that, yes, allergy season seems to be good/bad depending on how you look at it, ha ha. There were MANY times my car would be covered in yellow when I lived there, and that never happened when I was in Ohio. I can't speak for everyone, but my allergies were definitely worse, and as Dawnie said earlier in the thread hers were when she visited her friend in Maryland. There are two examples for you!

Weird thing - the yellow car coating thing seems to happen seasonally, but I can't seem to recall it happening this year.

Anyway, we could definitely use more sneezing here in Ohio!

Really?? I've never seen it here! Like I said, the first time I ever saw it was when I moved out to Maryland. I must be living in the wrong part of Ohio, ha ha! And I agree ... More Sneezing in Ohio!

Yep - I'm in the Cleveland area - not sure if being near the lake has anything to do with it. Now that I think about it, I never noticed it before when I lived a few hours south of here. Anyway..hope things pick up!
