How good are you at keeping your fetish safe?

When it comes to clearing the history on your computer, how good are you?

I'm so horrible. I'm so lazy that I dont ever clear it. I'ts been probably almost a year now since i've cleaned the history! My dad and I use the same computer, but with different accounts (we have passwords)

However, he's the computer's admin, so he can change my password when he pleases- AND we've been having troubles with the computer. So of course, I'm scared to death either he or a computer guy is gonna look through the history when they fix it. So now I need to delete a years worth of history- and that includes Youtube videos too.

I'm also scared that I won't know how to delete it entirely- and that allll my sneeze-related stuff might be still there, lurking in the history somewhere D:

Is anyone else like me? Or are you all good at keeping your fetish safe?

I'm the only one using my computer, apart from friends some times when I'm there too to show me something, or my partner, who knows.

Hmm... if my parents haven't found out yet I doubt they will and if they have they don't say anything about it so I'm okay with that situation. Though felt slightly less than comfortable when I realised my mother had logged on (to send me an important file I needed at the time) and there were sneeze-related things on my desktop.

The forum is saved as a favourite though, with other links leading to fetish-related things... so I'm fine as long as no-one goes snooping around my browser/rest of computer. Don't go out of my way to avoid getting detected but well, no-one is *supposed* to snoop around my computer.

My laptop is mine, no one else is allowed to touch it  Unless Mum wants to borrow it to watch a movie at night or something, in which case I clear all my internet history and my downloads folder. Though I don't bother to hide sneeze-art I've got on my laptop or anything, I trust Mum won't snoop, so the only thing I'd be worried about really would be the URL drop-down menu in the browser coming up with embarrassing suggestions xP Apart from that, I don't ever clear my history or anything. I'm always afraid one day my laptop will freeze or die or something with the SFF or something equally mortifying sitting on screen for a repairman to see...

When I didn't have my own and had to use a family laptop I'd clear the history every time I used it though. Couldn't clear block times or sites either back then, had to delete every freaking entry individually xP (Cause it would look suspicious if I cleared ALL history...)

I think I'm pretty good at keeping it secret! What I do is use an Internet Explorer window for all my normal stuff---Email, Facebook, what have you---but hidden in the crevices of my Start Bar is a Mozilla Firefox icon. For those who don't know, it's basically Internet Explorer, but...not. Anyway, that's what I use to get on things my mom considers a no-no----The Forum, Deviantart, FFFN, etc.----and when I'm done, I just open the start bar, right click and hit "Remove from this list", and the icon disappears. Of course, next time I get on, I have to pull up the side bar and go looking for Mozilla again, but oh well. There is a price to pay for happiness. :D

Anybody visiting would probably use Internet Explorer, so I use Firefox for fetish-related stuff.

I chose the Firefox option that forgets all the history, each time the browser is closed. I also turned off Autofill, so someone typing a web address that starts with "sn" doesn't suddenly see sneezefetishforum as an option!

I do have some bookmarks that I need to get rid of.

Saved files are all buried in an innocently-named folder deep in the system directory (the Windows 7 file indexer does not index system folders; try typing "sneeze" or whatever into the search bar and see what all comes up!).

Sounds extreme, but I do have visitors who might snoop, so it's just prudent.

Mobile devices are another problem these days, temptingly convenient but harder to keep private. These seem to have a lot fewer automatic privacy options too. If anyone has any tips (Safari on iPad, iPhone) I'd be interested to hear.

It's mine and it's private, and I only very seldom let anyone else sit by my computer. Even when I do allow someone to do it, and I've cleared all history, AND I keep a close eye at what they're doing, AND it's people I usually trust, it still makes me uneasy. But then again, I don't like it when people snoop around my stuff, never have, never will. I want my privacy.

Oh, I am obsessed with keeping my history clean. Even when I know full well that I come on the forum only on InPrivate browsing. :D

I HATE people touching my laptop. Just NO. It's a bit extreme. I mean, even I know I overreact.

As for hiding Art and Wavs and the like, I keep them in my external hard drive in a folder in a folder in a folder etc... :P

xD That happened my first day on a computer allocated to me at uni. Was chatting with a friend as they happened to have the day off and uhm... the conversation turned to sneezing and related things.. and then my computer froze and the only thing I could still do was type in the IM box. And have incriminating words on my screen. I panicked. But no-one saw. :P

It's my laptop and no one else uses it, so I generally do not clear my history. With that being said, I had my friend's boyfriend fix my computer once when it was acting up. It was during one of my hiatuses from the forum so I didn't even really think about the fetish when I gave it to him. He never said anything, but I was always paranoid every time I saw him after that. I'm sure he found my shit, but eh? such if life ...

Im very carful about deleting my history even though I use my own computer. But there was this one time when I was using my moms blackberry to watch a sneeze video and it froze so i had no choice but to turn it off and give it back. I was so afraid that when she fixed it that the page would come up but luckly it didn't and I was able to delete the history before she started looking through it.

I always use private browsing when I come to the forum or any other sites like this. That way, it automatically deletes my history and cookies when I'm done. It gets annoying having to re-enter my passwords every single time, but I'd rank that above being caught.

I also save all my material on flash drives, so if someone else has to use my computer or if I have to use it with other people, I can just unplug them and have no chance of accidentally going to the wrong folders.

Also, just for general protection, my computer is password protected and I always lock it when I have to go somewhere else, even when I'm not doing anything.

My hubby knows way more about computers than I do, so when we got to the point of him fixing my computer I told rather than try to hide. At home I'm pretty lax but if we have a visitor I clear all the histories on all 3 browsers and then double check by starting to type "sne..." in the browser and search boxes and making sure nothing comes up. If I log on using my hubby's iPhone (rare!) I clear history immediately after each use. Otherwise I never log on from anywhere else.

I use my phone, a continuum, for EVERYTHING. the problem is, I cant delete my history. The only way I can keep it from popping up in my "suggested links" area whenever someone wants to visit a website is to go on dozens if random websites so the forum is wayyy down there on the list. I just hope I never get into a sticky situation with my parents.

I'm fairly careful I suppose, given that no-one knows about my fetish outside of this forum. I access here from my phone (which is almost always with me and no-one else ever uses the internet functions on) and my laptop and desktop, both of which are password protected. I don't bother clearing the history on them as a matter of course, but if I knew someone else was going to stay and might use them, I would make an effort to make sure there was nothing obvious in my history/on my desktop, etc.

Having said that I'm fairly sure my housemate must have some idea what's going on since he can certainly hear when I induce and he knows I'm not a particularly sneezy person naturally! However if he does then thankfully he's never said anything so far :(

That's kind of hot. And it reminds me that my husband and I are a little careful about "will the neighbor notice" but if an observant neighbor were to pay attention, they would have a much better chance of figuring me out than anyone by electronic means.

I could be more careful, though this is my personal computer so I usually don't imagine anyone using it. When people look over my shoulder or have to use it for whatever reason I get seriously nervous if I haven't deleted my history. xD;

I use my own password protected laptop, in my own room, and everyone else I live with has their own laptop so I'm not very cautious. Obviously I would attempt to clear up if I was having friends over or whatever, but I think it would be pretty difficult to stumble across anything suspicious. My main concern is if my laptop crashes and I have to ask someone to salvage all my stuff, that they'll find my fetishy stash. There's no way to explain that. But I can't keep that stuff on an external hard drive that anyone can access, y'know? Life is about taking risks! I would never look up this site or anything related to it on any other computer, though. :winkkiss:

I have my own laptop, which no one else uses, however I have wondered how I would go about "cleaning up" my computer if I were to ever have to share it with someone...I have sneeze sites stored in my most frequently visited site list, sneeze videos/sound files/pictures saved all over the place that I've collected over the years, stories/articles etc that relate to sneezing. I'd have to go through with a very fine tooth comb before I'd feel confident letting someone else use my computer for any length of time!

Now, me and my girlfriend are usually the only ones that have access to the computer, but I still usually use Private Browsing when doing fetish-y things. :D

Chrome's incognito mode is a godsend. I'm not too worried about people finding my history, but one time I was looking for fetishy vids on youtube while talking on IM and accidentally typed the term into the IM window! I hit enter right away just out of habit. She seemed to accept it when I laughed it off and said I had no idea how that word got on the screen, but AAAAH. So be careful of that, folks. I always click 'search' after typing in the desired search term instead of hitting enter, now.

As for non-browser stuff - I don't usually have visitors, but even so I'm afraid of keeping anything fetishy on my computer. I do keep a few stories on it, and I know to be absolutely safe I should delete them but I'm too proud of the way I've written them to do so. I think there's a way to password protect folders, but I can't quite figure it out. I should just get a flash drive and put them on there like a few others here did, but then I'd be afraid of losing that and someone finding it! D:

I have my own laptop so yes :D But, if you use Google chrome they have this thing so you can browse the internet without history being recorded, all you have to do if switch to icognito mode. It was great when I shared a computer :D
