Lalena
Prior to my move to Maryland I used to spend a lot of time at my best friend’s fiancé’s house, which was also the home of two cats that I am very allergic to. I would often go there unexpectedly, so I kept a box of Benadryl at his place so when I stopped by I would not suffer. Today was the first time since I moved back to Ohio that I went over his house. When I walked in the door, the first thing the BF said to me was, “I hope you took some meds, we are out of Benadryl.” Kill me. Nope, sure didn’t. Wish she had told me. I wasn’t going to go out and get some so at that point my plan was to just hope for the best.Surprisingly, the first part of the night went very well. Aside from some minor sniffles I seemed to be doing ok. The problem started when I sat on the floor. There must have been a lot of allergens down there because shortly after I got down there the symptoms became insane. (I’m sneezing as I’m writing this too … just sneezed a double.) It always starts with the eyes. They become watery and itchy, and eventually start to swell a bit. Very attractive, ha ha! I then sneeze a few sneezes here and there, my nose becomes stuffy and runny at the same time and finally my throat itches like mad. This process usually takes about an hour to become full forced, but after I sat on the ground the symptoms were complete after less than 20 minutes (sneezed again during that sentence typing … It’s getting old!) Even worse than that, everyone kept commenting on my allergies. One of the conversations went as follows:Me: Hih’Eshiiew!BFF: Bless you. How are your eyes?Me: How do they look?BFF: Terrible … I feel so bad … we should have bought some Benadryl.Me: He’etchioo!Fiancé’s 9 year old son: Stop sneezing!Me: Sorry! I would if I could!Fiancé: Wouldn’t it be funny if I planted little tufts of cat hair in your car?Me: You want to kill me?BFF: You are such an ass.Me: Hih … Heh’ishoo!BFF: Bless youFiancé’s 9 year old son: Stop!BFF: You aren’t being very niceFiancé’s 9 year old son: She is distracting my game! (He was playing video games)Me: *rubbing my eyes* Sorry to disturb you …BFF: You want something for your eyes? A wet washcloth or something?Me: Yea, sure. Hih’eshiiiew!BFF: Bless youMe: Ugh, thanks … This continued for several hours until I could not take it anymore. I was planning on drinking and staying the night over there, but there was absolutely no way I would have survived. I was/am miserable. (I sneezed once more while typing out the conversation as well.) I got home, took a shower and some meds and am getting ready for bed, but I thought I would type up a little something for all of you before I did that. Hope you enjoyed! Goodnight! Link to comment

sneezedreamer
Bless you! Sorry you felt/feel cruddy. The fiance's son sounds mildly annoying.I hope it isn't terribly rude of me to say this, but I gotta admit I was slightly offended by the title of the thread, though. I know you probably don't approve of cat-slaughtering in real life, but I'm rather sensitive right now since one of my own kitties died not long ago. He was my buddy. Just something to think about in the future. Link to comment
Lalena
I want to go on record saying of course I do not approve of cat slaughtering. Sorry to those it offended ... it was meant to simply be a catchy title to encompass my feelings towards my symptoms at the time.Anyway ... thanks for all the well wishes and blessings! After sleeping it off I was completely back to normal in the morning. Link to comment
