Wishing
Ok, so....I haven't made any wavs for a while, and was thinking of doing another one at some point. A few people who posted in response to the last wav I made, suggested possibly making a 'talkie' wav. The problem with that is, I'm very shy (no, really!) and wouldn't have a clue what to say or talk about! Plus, if I'm in the middle of a sneezing fit for whatever reason, my brain tends to freeze up anyway as I get so focused on the tickle in my nose, it's hard to think about much else, lol. I would really love to do a wav where I'm trying to talk inbetween sneezes, but need some inspiration here, as it's not something I've ever tried doing before. Thanks in advance for any input from you guys . Link to comment
dude18323
First off thank you so much for offering to make one! I'm really looking forward to it as I'm sure others are as well.A few ideas are talking about what you are feeling in your nose, maybe reading from a book, talking about world events, sports (if you are into that), or anything else that interests you. It doesn't really matter that much...anything would be greatly appreciated! Link to comment
rhombohedron
My favorite kind of talkie is people reading aloud, hands down. I feel like reading something really mundane would be hot, like the newspaper. Not sure why, it would just be interesting to hear. Link to comment
tma
I've done talkies, but I've done them anonymously *Ages* ago (because I'm sort of shy like that too). And ones I've done more recently- just for friends. Its sort of easier for me to do talkies because of how the .wav making goes, and pauses would make me feel akward and such,so... I just... ramble Whatever you choose to do- do NOT feel at All pressured to do anything that you don't feel comfortable with. Link to comment
Hayley
I think that describing how you're feeling - announcing your sneezes, talking about what's making you sneeze, etc - is my favourite kind of talkie wav. That said, if you're nervous and tend to freeze up when the mic is on, reading something aloud might be the way to go. That way you don't have the pressure of trying to think of something to say. Whatever you decide to do, remember that we'll all be so excited that you even tried to do a talkie wav in the first place that we won't be bothered at all if you forget what you're trying to say a little bit Link to comment
count tiszula
Plus, if I'm in the middle of a sneezing fit for whatever reason, my brain tends to freeze up anyway as I get so focused on the tickle in my nose, it's hard to think about much else, lol. Just reading this is exciting enough; so imagine how wonderful it would be if you recorded yourself getting focused on that tickly nose and saying incoherent things about the uncontrollable tickle...I would say just standard announcements, apologies, and interrupted descriptions of what your nose feels like should more than cover it. If you are rreally worried about it write some standard phrases down on a scrap of paper and insert them randomly into spaces between sneezes. As a last resort have a sneezy stroy to hand to read if all else fails... Link to comment
sneezomania
There have already some good suggestions been made. One good idea certainly is that you tell how you're feeling, that the next sneeze is coming up and so on. Perhaps try to imagine that the sneezes themselves aren't audible on the recording (for whatever reason) and so you have to describe everything to make the listener know what's happening, like in a written observation.Or read something aloud, perhaps something topic-related, e.g. the wikipedia article for "sneeze". Salamander
One of my all time favourite wavs was someone pretending to leave an answer phone message for their lover about mundane things, but getting overtaken by sneezing and having to stop and then apologise. It was very sweet, and really hot to me for some reason. Link to comment
Honkytonklagoon
I say yes to all the above. And I know we'll enjoy whatever you come up with. I also think talking gets easier with practice and you'll be less likely to go blank. A step beyond the answering machine message is to phone a real person and let the sneezing fit rip. Never fails to make me melt. Link to comment

But like others have suggested, you could also just read a poem or a story of even a newspaper if you think you might freeze up and not know what to talk about. Link to comment
webmeistro
I hope I'm not beating a dead post, but I say just talk about your sneezes; how your nose feels, how the last sneeze felt, another is coming. I know it's not easy to do when inducing, but I've always felt an announced sneeze is drop-dead sexy.At least you won't have any trouble remembering what to say! Link to comment
