I Hate to Be Ugly, But...

So a few days ago, I witnessed a sneeze from the most unattractive person I've possibly ever seen. I don't want to sound nasty or rude, but it's given me quite a problem. Ever since, sneezing hasn't been "doing it" for me. Actually, it grosses me out to no end, and I'm frustrated because...well...I love sneezing! LOL, obviously, or I wouldn't be here, but y'know... so I was just wondering: has this ever happened to anyone else, and if so, how long did it take for you to 'get back' the kink?

I don't think it's happened to me, but I have been in uncomfortable situations where people who are old or young are sneezing and it's like ick. It usually doesn't bother me for too long, but everyone's different. Just give it a couple of days and try to let the memory of seeing that wrongness fade. I'm sure you'll bounce right back.

Try to find sneeze clips of your favorite TV shows or youtube vids and remind yourself why you love it so much! smile.png If that doesn't work, I suggest taking a little break from the forum. Sometimes I have to do this to "refresh," if you will. It's like when you eat way too much candy, and then candy doesn't sound good for a while. But then after that while, it's as delicious as ever.

I totally agree with this. Don't worry it'll come back you just have to give it some time. Also try some visualizing just think about the best sneeze you've ever seen.

Thanks, guys! As it turns out, my fiance sneezed last night, and he's the hottest thing ever, so...it kinda cured me ;P

"the perfect sneeze" by anonymose

this one's too young, this one's too old/ and they clearly have a terrible cold/

(I sincerly appologize to bestow this level of "facepalm" to the forum)

While I wouldn't say I've been disturbed by an unattractive person's sneeze enough to not be interested in sneezing in general, I can say that I'm not particularly fond of the sneeze of a person I find unattractive. Unfortunately, chances are that I'll be unlucky enough to have the person's sneeze play over and over again with a mental image of them included.

I'll admit that it is very difficult to ignore it at times, but after a while, it gets much easier to avoid thinking about it too much.

 Oh you.

I just wanted to add that I work in a hospital and find myself in situations where I reeeally don't want to see a person sneeze and if they did I would probably be just as traumatized as you were. I'm glad to hear you were "cured" though! ;)
