Hankysneeze Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Hi all, I love my own sneezes and everything but it is getting in the way of my social life just lately! Has anyone else had this? Just recently my allergies have been so bad that I am constantly sneezing, which in turn I have no luck with the ladies . I have tried lots of different treatments and some work for a while and they stop! Has anyone else had this problem?? Help
Ali Marie Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Oh yeah, I have this problem! Are you kidding? I'm an actress! I got sent home today because my director thought that I was in no condition to sing. (She was right!) Show Biz & allergies don't mix...
Hankysneeze Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 I feel your pain!!! At work I can cope, for me it's when I go out, in pub for instance with friends, they are talking to lots of different people and having a good time, whilst I'm in the dark corner with my face buried in a handkerchief! Not many women find that attractive!
Ali Marie Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I would!Haha!!! Although I enjoy the allergies of other people very much, I'm not too fond of suffering, myself. Love/Hate relationship!
Hankysneeze Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 Ha ha, most on the forum probably would like it, but unfortunately most people don't like sneezing! So I'm back to the dark corner unfortunately....not good

Anyone who doesn't like you JUST because of this isn't worth knowing in the first placeBut there are millions of people out there who won't be bothered in the slightest if you happen to sneeze a lot
iheartsneezn Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Allergies run in my family and while mine aren't that bad I feel like I understand what your going through. I have had family members who missed important family holiday celebrations because of allergy troubles. Maybe you should look into getting shots. Most people I know who take them say that they help.

Or get a part of a character who has allergies...

My allergies have been acting up too My allergy meds work, though, or else I would be sneezing my head off! They last the whole day, so I'm just usually sneezy in the morning before I take the meds.PS. I take Zyrtec. It's a working miracle and my all-time lifesaver.
tk2927 Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Sometimes, with meds too, they lose their effectiveness over time. For about a year I took Claritin until that no longer worked.I then switched to Zyrtec and that was awesome... for a while- maybe about a year and a half. I am now taking Allegra and (knock on wood) that seems to be doing the trick.

And me!My seasonal allergies are not as bad as yours it sounds, but my cat allergies are really bad. Usually benadryl works well for me, but it does make me sleepy. Picking up ladies would be even more difficult if you were asleep in a dark corner rather than sneezing . I would suggest going to an allergy specialist. My cousin has terrible allergies and she sees a dr. The nice thing is once treatments stop working they are able to adjust and reevaluate if you are continuously under care. Good luck!!
