An "empathy" sneeze?

There might already be a topic for this, but I didn't find one, so I thought I would ask. I'm curious >:3

So, at times, when I am reading sneeze fiction or looking at a sneezy picture, I'll end up sneezing myself. Just once, but I've found it happening more and more.

I'm generally empathetic towards others, and try to put myself in their shoes when I'm giving advice, so I'm wondering if that traits ends up making me sneeze because of some psychological trigger when I see someone else sneezing? x'DDD

That happens to me every so often, more now than in past years. What's really funny, though, is that when I used to think about sneezing content every so often, the person that I would be with (usually a family member) would sneeze strange, isn't it? But interesting all the same.

The "power of suggestion" or sympathetic sneezing I think it's generally called. And it happens to me too, occasionally. Especially when I already need to sneeze, reading the word may very well bring it out.

It does happen to me, but that's because I often sneeze whenever I get sexually aroused very suddenly. I doesn't have to do with me empathizing with the sneezer.

On occasion it will happen to me if I'm thinking about someone I'm with sneezing. Which is sad since I want them to be sneezing, not me

I don't sneeze much during my typical day, but practically always sneeze, at least once, when I'm on the Forum.

I think I have a slightly different take on this . I'm guessing that most of us think about sneezing on regular occasions during the day. Therefore, the "law of averages" says that when we do sneeze there is a good chance that is is just after or during fetish related thought/activity.

And of course we remember these occasions more than the other times we sneeze.

It's useful when you have a stuck sneeze and need to coax it out. haha.

Yes, anytime I arouse myself sexually I'll sneeze big-time. When aroused by another, I won't sneeze much, if at all. The phenomenon of sneezing is likely due to my mucous membranes becoming hyper-stimulated when fantasizing; deeply stimulating thoughts really get the mucous flowing. During sex with a partner, other organs do the heavy-lifting, so there is less mucous in the mix and less sneezing.

I've definitely had this happen when reading fics or listening to wavs, but it's hard to say whether it's a sympathetic reaction or, as Joal suggested, a simple matter of statistical probability. It's interesting either way I suppose.

What's odd is that I'll often sneeze while listening to wavs or aroused (even if it's non-fetish related arousal), but ONLY when I'm alone. I've occasionally felt the urge to sneeze when aroused in the company of another, but there's always that mental block there...
