Kshu Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Does anyone know if an app for ipad/iPhone that can take a video from the camera roll and black it out while leaving the sound? I have videos that would make great Wavs but I want the video portion blacked out.

Merc_With_A_Mouth_69 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 There are a lot of file conversion websites you might be able to try. Just convert the video file into a .wav or some other audio-only file.
Ouro Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 This doesn't help with current videos, but in future you can just put a piece of electric tape over the camera lens. Or with a phone you could even just put it down on a table so the lens is facing down.
squealofapproval Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 just put it down on a table so the lens is facing down. This is what I do. It's how I roll.
PuddinPop Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I'm not sure about converting videos to audio, but for .wavs I use a program called Audacity. It's free to download, really simple to use and has no spyware or anything. I would recommend downloading it and giving it s try Then in future you can record .wavs with it so it's only audio with no video.

Kshu Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Yea when I'm purposely making wavs I just put it face down, but I had some good sounding videos that I wish I could black out without transferring the video to my laptop.
Shay Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 It sounds like you are talking about videos you made yourself rather than ones on Youtube, but there is a site called listentoyoutube which can convert Youtube videos into mp3s. So you could temporarily upload your videos to Youtube, convert them, and then take the videos down if you want to.
