Sleep talking/walking

Anyone else prone to sleep talking and/or sleep walking? I'm embarrassingly prone to both. Last night I woke myself up by saying, in an absolutely delighted voice:

"Rolf? Ooh, what a beautiful name for a beetle!!"

Waking up, I replayed in my mind the words I had just said out loud, and started to laugh. I have no idea what I was dreaming, but what the hell??

Last week, one night when I was on Zolpidem (which some of you know as Ambien), I promptly got out of bed and changed curtains in my bedroom window. I was kind of puzzled when I woke up the next morning... thankfully, those things don't happen very often. That's freakin' scary!!

Anyone else have any sleep talking/walking stories to share? smile.png

When I was little I sleepwalked in to my moms bedroom and sat in her lap while she was watching tv. I asked her what she was doing and then she brought me back to my room. When I woke up I remembered the whole thing.

My brother reported that on vacation I got up, marched around, and announced I needed soap.

According to my family :glare: I do.

When I was a kid, I frequently walked laps around the master bathroom for no reason during the night, then crawl back into bed. Recently, I jerked myself awake because I was falling off of a waterfall. My sister heard me shouting, "Why no?" during the middle of a different night. I wonder what I was dreaming...

My boyfriend is a sleep talker and walker. He's woken me up to get me out of bed so he can move the pillows all around looking for something. Or he'll be having a bad dream and wake me up asking me strange things and I tell him he's dreaming and that he's asleep and he looks at me like I'm a mental case and then goes back to sleep and never remembers in the morning lol

"Rolf? Ooh, what a beautiful name for a beetle!!"

:lmfao: That's hilarious!

I've never done much sleepwalking or talking, only occasionally when I'm having a nightmare. I once woke myself up by kicking the window ledge next to my bed so hard that I actually cut my toe slightly. Thankfully it doesn't happen very often.

My sister on the other hand, is a notorious sleep talker. She once sat up in bed, pointed at the door, and told her college roomate that a friend of theirs "Needs to go" when the friend wasn't in the room or anything. Just like "He needs to go! *SNOOOOORE*"

Omg. I just laughed way too hard at this.

If I do actual sleep talking, I don't know about it. I'm asleep after all. My brother and boyfriend have told me I mumble either unintelligible or just really random things. One thing I DO know I do is when I'm in that almost-alseep-but-still-25%-awake state where I'm only just barely aware of things (you know, usually that point right before you wake up where you're not sure if you're dreaming or not...) that things DO come out of my mouth that I don't exactly intend to let out. It's so weird. I can feel them coming but I'm so tired they just fall out before I can stop them. Just random things. One time when my boyfriend and I had just barely started dating I was in that state and I randomly said, "I like apples". Not amusing at all in itself (unless you happen to tutor in English and you say that phrase like every day of your life...), but as it was the beginning of our relationship and he wanted to impress me........ I got so many expensive ($5-$10 each) apples daily after that >_<; haha. Some girls get flowers and chocolates. I got apples!

When I used to share a room with one of my brothers, he would always tell me some of the weird things I said in my sleep. Some of the best I can remember him telling me are "No! That's my marshmallow spoon!" and "The rainbow chickens are gonna eat me; and I don't even like them..."

I started yelling at a jacket once in my sleep. This was years ago, but one night when I was down in Ensenada Mexico with the Coast Guard, I came back to the boat pretty drunk and passed out shortly after. Someone had hung an orange Coast Guard bomber jacket in the doorway, and I woke up in the middle of the night half asleep, and thought somebody was standing there staring at me. So I started going off, "Who the fuck are you!??" etc etc. I was screaming :D

I talk a lot in my sleep, but I also laugh and sing, which is pretty weird if you don't know about it. I've freaked a lot of people out when I've had to share a room on a residential or whatever by not telling them until the end of the stay that I laugh/sing in my sleep.

I sleep talk and walk.

I've woken up in the bathroom on numerous occasions. I sometimes remember sleep talking to my boyfriend, but not all the time. A few nights ago, I remember getting out of bed and going downstairs to check to see if there were people in the house... I'd dreamt we'd had friends round and in my sleepiness I obviously thought we'd gone to bed and forgotten about them.

I have before. When I was little my mom said she walked into my room and i was laughing in my sleep. Another was it was storming out and my mom came to check on me. When she came in I was sitting up, fully awake (not really), looking around my room. She asked if I was okay and I said I was completely fine. I remember non of this.

My brothers girlfriend sleepwalks. He said her parents once found her outside banging her head against the wall.

Weird. blinksmiley.gif

I used to sleepwalk and tAlk like crazy when I was little. Now I just sleep talk. My dad says that when I was little I walked into his room, woke him up, and said with a completely straight face, " the man with a bloody hole in his face is trying to get in." and then supposedly I smiled at him really creepily, turned around, left the room and went back to bed. Also, my class was on a fieldtrip to Montreal, and I shared a hotel room with some of my best friends. I fell asleep, but when I woke up, my friends were all staring at me looking really, really creeped out. They said that I randomly opened my eyes, and sat up in bed, then went back to lying down, and repeated this really really fast. I probably was a really creepy kid...

i know i sleep talk, i usually end up waking myself up though. there are some periods of clarity in which i hear myself speaking. i have a habit of saying 'no' or 'go away' or 'stop.'

on a side note i also sleep-cry? is that a thing? when i'm emotional distraught my dream-self permeates into reality and i wake up with tears streaking down my face.

I don't really have a lot of experience with sleep walking, however I do sleep talk frequently.

It's usually when I'm still asleep and something or someone is waking me up, Most of the times I don't remember what I said, but I know on one occasion, I was sleeping and my mom entered my room and I just said "piss off, I'm studying"

Not exactly sleep talking or walking, but when I was younger, sick, and really tired, I used to have partial hallucinations. One time my mom was tending to me while we were on the couch watching TV and I just turned to her and was like "the gumballs are so heavy ;_;" because in my mind I was stuck in a gumball machine. Another time, I slept over at a friends house, I woke up early and dragged a pillow around his bed 3 times because I thought we'd die if I didn't.

What an interesting topic haha! I don't sleep walk, but there's been minimal sleep talking... sweatdrop.gif Once, I woke myself up by singing some Ke$ha song... I don't even like Ke$ha! laughing.gif

I don't normally talk in my sleep, but a few times I have. This one time, my mom said that I sat up in bed and asked her what she was doing, then laid back down. There were also a few other incidences that I don't exactly remember. But I still did enough to be embarrassed about.

A friend of mine once called out "NO!! I don't want the important blanket!!" at a sleepover. I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my bed and woke her up to find out what the hell she was dreaming. She couldn't remember.

You know how they say you must never wake a sleep walker because they'll go insane if they wake up somewhere else? You don't go insane per say. But it is kind of unnerving to wake up at 3 am, standing in front of the freezer, eating raspberries from a package you had forgotten was even there. Take my word for it. Happened last night.

DeeGee reminded me of when my friend was sick, he told me he hallucinated and saw his pillow swearing at him! This just about killed me. yay.gif

I've been told I do a bit of sleepwalking and talking. One night,I went to my parents' bed and said, "Your voice is an anime!" to my mom. XD That event happened about two or so weeks ago.

Hahaha all these stories :D.... I'm prone to doing weird things in my sleep, too, like screaming and then muttering and kicking my legs. Probably the weirdest thing I ever did was eat jelly beans in my sleep, which I did a few years ago when loads of friends crashed at my house. The trouble is, I'm such a heavy sleeper that when I won't shut up talking people try and wake me up by punching me, but I just roll over and continue snoring away. It used to scare the crap out of my SO.....

I'm actually cracking up at these stories, ahaha :D

Has anyone ever downloaded/used one of those sleep talk recorder apps? I go to a boarding school and my two roommates said I sleeptalk quite a lot so I downloaded one, then checked the recording in the morning. There were like 5 recordings of me repeating 'I'm sorry, sorry, sorry'. I have no idea what I was sorry about.

I've also sleepwalked a few times - the most recent was pretty painful. We sleep in cabin beds - like bunk beds but with a desk instead of a bottom bunk - and in my dreams I thought that there was a light coming from across the room, which was annoying me. The sleeping me evidently decided to try and switch it off, which ended with me falling from two metres up to the ground and breaking my foot lol
