Kate Morgan Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Okay, so today my mom was trying to figure out if one of her old friends still worked for a company. Her phone died earlier in the day so she asked if she could borrow mine. I knew that I had fetish material pulled up on the phone, so I went into my purse to grab it and shut everything down when I realized that I had left my phone on the counter right next to her. I tried to stop her but it was to late. I had YouTube pulled up on a video titled "talkie in bed, allergies and build ups" which could be anything but then she started pressing the back button and saw three or four other YouTube pages with very VERY obvious titles. She didn't say anything about it, she just closed the phone and handed it back to me... I am really embarrassed and kinda confused on how to address it or if I should do/say anything at all.. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any advice/calming words?
MoonDuck Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Aww, I'm really sorry that happened. I would say don't stress about it too much and act as if absolutely nothing happened.
rodakemopetojoen Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I'm really sorry to hear about this, especially since you obviously didn't feel ready to share this with her. If it helps, just try to remember that people outside of the sneezing fetish world wouldn't pick up on the same things that we would, and particularly if you've never heard of a sneezing fetish it can be very hard to recognise one. She probably didn't think anything of it, because there are plenty of unusual videos on YouTube, most of which are just there to make people laugh, so from her experience it is likely that she may just pass this off as a funny online prank or something. There are plenty of excuses that you could use if she did happen to confront you about it, perhaps you could suggest that it was a friend of yours who had either posted the videos or linked you to a particular channel. And don't forget, sometimes getting things out in the open is a positive thing. If at some point she does talk to you about this, perhaps it will give you an opportunity to discuss this and get it off your chest. I personally felt a lot better after I shared the secret with a friend, and she was very supportive. In any case, she said nothing, so I would hazard a guess that she didn't really pick up on it. Everyone's parents are different but I reckon if my mother actually noticed something like that she'd talk to me about it so you may have nothing to worry about- she may not have seen it.Anyway, don't worry, it won't do any good to fret about it. I really hope it turns out alright and good luck!
Kate Morgan Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Thank you so much I really feel a lot better after reading these comments. I was really scared.
PrettySneezes Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I really doubt that the thought that you could possibly have a sneeze fetish ever once came into her head. As a matter of fact, I'm willing to bet, that was probably the farthest thing in her mind. She most likely didn't give it any thought at all as to the youtube videos that came up. Most people have never heard of sneeze fetishes and would never even thought in a million years that a fetish for sneezing even exists. So don't stress on it. It's not like she found kiddie porn on your phone or something... To her, it's just some videos about people sneezing. She's probably already forgotten about it by now. It's not a big deal. Really though, cheer up, and don't stress on it. *Kisses*
chessgod Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 well.....all I can say is that seeing how your age on your profile is 22, your mom has no right to question or judge you for what you listen or look at. does it suck that she may have put 2 +2 together? for sure. ball is in your court now to address it, and confront her to see if she really does know.

She's an adult, old enough to drink even. But I doubt very highly that she "put 2+2 together". I think one would have to do an aweful lot of snooping, a lot more then just seeing a couple of youtube videos on her phone. I watched that youtube video that she was talking about, and there's no way that someone who doesn't know about this fetish would put two and two together from seeing that. Even if her mom happened to find "sneeze fetish" on her search history, she could always just play if off by saying "yeah, I heard someone saying some people had fetishes for sneezing. I thought they were just pulling my leg, so I googled it to see if that was a real thing or not".I google just about anything that sparks my interest or seems bizare. I'm not sure what one might think of me if they looked through my search history. LOL
Kushami Suki Da! Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Actually, something similar to this happened to me about a week ago. I was really tired and wanted to go to bed, but my mom told me that she would sort through a HUGE pile of papers for me to study for my exams. Of course, I didn't want to do it, so I gave her the stack of papers. The next day, I woke up before her and on the couch I saw all the paper sorted, and the one that I folded and clearly labeled 'do not open' was open and it was a short poem-like thing that vaguley mentioned sneezing, but I flat-out used the word fetish a couple times... She hasn't said anything to me about it, so I'm not gonna say anything about it.

I have a 15 year old daughter myself, and I can tell you that I would most likely open anything that I found that said "DO NOT OPEN" on it too. Most parents snoop! That's all there is to it. We just want to make sure that you're not getting into trouble or that you're not hiding anything really important that we should know about. We were once your age too you know LOL.But now that you know your mom will open something clearly labled "DO NOT OPEN" on it. Maybe in the future, disguise it as something you think she wouldn't bother to read if she found it. At least that what I would do.
Anonymoussneezelover Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Ugh. You know her better than any one else, so if you think she knows...I'm 35 now, but when I was about your age, my dad said he wanted to show me something on the computer. I was mortified when he showed me that I wasn't clearing my browser history as meticulously as I thought I was. He mercifully acted as if I could have been listening to the wavs I had neglected to delete from Winamp for some reason other than what they obviously were, and we never openly discussed my fetish, but he must have known. I feel your pain, good luck.
etechie Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I was "discovered" about in high school kate, and it was because I told a pretty psychologist about it when i was 17, it wasn't too bad, it hasn't been mentioned anymore in my life
