The dreaded "Con Plague" (f, self)

For those of you who don't know, I've been attending anime/comic/sci-fi/NERD conventions for almost 10 years (and yes, I do cosplay in case anyone is curious tonguesmiley.gif). There's something con-goers like to call the "con plague", which is essentially a cold you catch following the convention.

I mean, it makes sense, right? Thousands of people gathering under one roof... Egads! Someone's bound to catch something! 7.gif

Silliness aside, I don't usually come down with anything, but this time I wasn't so lucky. I guess it also didn't help that one of the people who shared my hotel room was sick, so the odds were most definitely against me. Boooo. heh.gif

As it stands now I'm pretty congested; it's mostly in my nose and head. I'm not coughing and I don't have a fever, but there's been tons and tons and TONS of sneezing. I've been mostly stifling my sneezes because I dislike drawing attention to myself in that way (kudos to anyone who can sneeze freely in public; I sure can't!). That being said, I have been letting myself sneeze normally when I'm alone, which feels reallyreally good.

I may make a WAV since I tend to do that whenever I have a cold, but in the meantime I'll keep you all posted as to what becomes of poor, sickly Spoo. bleh.gif

Edit:

For anyone who'd like to hear what I presently sound like (no sneezing; just my voice).

Get better soon. *offers you soup and tissues*

I had "con crud" once (after my first con, no less) and it was roughhhhh. It was a very sudden, hit-you-like-a-ton-of-bricks, flu-like symptoms thing that was a little too mild to be an actual flu but still pretty hardcore. I didn't have anyone rooming with me at the con who was sick, but somehow everyone I roomed with also came down with it.

Man you're lucky it's just a cold. I somehow managed to avoid con crud in all my years of attending them, but my friends always seemed to get hit and holy flu symptoms from hell. Nothing like watching your bestie sob on the bathroom floor to round out a fun week 8D

Hope you feel better, Spoodles!

Spoo, I cosplay too~! That's awesome! I'd love to chat about it sometime with you >w<

But ahhh, the con plague~ I know it well xD. As other have said, I'm glad it's a sneezy one though, as opposed to something more miserable! Keep healthy and feel better~!

I've never been to a con but SO would attend and do cosplay. I've caught post writers conference plague a time or two, though. You almost don't mind when it's from there. In such good company. And now you can commiserate on social media after the con.

Please DO make a wav if you can, and feel better soon, sneezy sickly Spoo :)

This is why I never socialise with ANYONE.

Feel better soon! Drink whiskey, it burns all the germs right out of you. Trust me, it's science.

You still have an awesome voice/accent :D

Hope you feel better soon!

I never got the con plague, but several of my fellow con-goers did. I remember it was always something awful for them, so I hope you feel better soon!

But if you're looking for sympathy from meeee...... *innocent whistling*
