squealofapproval Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 (edited) I finally decided something to sink my teeth in! It's a Sherlock Highschool AU. Sherlock is a ballet dancer, and John is a rugby player. I got the idea from Tumblr (thank you, Internet!), so credit where credit is due. Mycroft and Greg are in there too, so expect Mystrade with the Johnlock. ><><><16. ThreeSneezer: JohnThe two were in lab class together. It was where they met. John was an amazing notes-taker, and Sherlock a talented chemist. The two skills rather complimented each other, and they got the best grades in the class. Sherlock did not expect a well-known athlete in his school to be so nice and caring to him, and in a way that extended beyond their lab-partnerly duties, but sometimes things happened like that, and even with his trust-issues, he began to enjoy it a lot. He enjoyed John's company- his jokes and stories, and he enjoyed having a friend... Someone who would care not only for his brain, but his heart. "This one says 'add two drops of potassium sulfate'..." John read off, and Sherlock dropped the contents from the dropper into the beaker they were heating on the Bunsen burner. It fizzled, and John held the pen over the paper as if to begin taking notes. But he hesitated for some reason. A lightbulb clicked in Sherlock's head at the sight out of the corner of his eyes of the faintest of nostril flares. John fanned the air in front of his face, and turned off to the other side of himself (facing away from Sherlock) to sneeze into the crook of his neck. "Het'zzzch! Hah'knxccch!" He turned back to the paper, beginning to scribble a bit of notes on the fizzing mixture. "Ah ah ah," Sherlock sing-songed. "One more sneeze~""That's ridiculous." John said, although his nose twitched a tiny bit. He wouldn't admit Sherlock was right, especially about his own reflexes. "You always sneeze three times," Sherlock said without blinking. "It's like clockwork. You have to get it out before you continue."John shook his head, and finally succumbed. "Hah'tsschh!" "Bless you," Sherlock said with a smirk. 28. AssignmentSneezer: Greg The two best friends were laying on Mycroft's bed, books, papers, pens, and notebooks sprawled over the covers. They were gleefully distracted, however, in talking and laughing and doing anything but work. "This assignment isn't gonna tackle itself," Greg said, trying to mean business. "You and I have to work, actually."Mycroft groaned. "I suppose so, but papers are so boring. Why do we do them?""For enrichment, I suppose," Greg shrugged. "How bo-o-ring," sing-songed Mycroft, who was wishing they were together under a different reason. Such as, maybe a movie date, which he had been trying to get up his resolve to ask. Once he had gotten enough pennies in the jar, something happened to knock them all out, however. Like recently, when Greg got a girlfriend. A major sting, but something he'd have to deal with when liking a bisexual boy. "I agree. But first, lets get some light in here." Greg stood up and opened the window, a blast of sunlight in his face. His photic sneeze reflex was triggered, and Mycroft watched as his chest heaved. "Hahhh..." Greg exhaled, holding two fingers under his nose. It didn't work. Some sneezes spilled out anyway. "HAH'EXTCH! HEH'EXXXCH! HEHH'KSSSH! HEH'CCXXXH!" Mycroft could see the spray with each one. It was clouding the window. The poor boy was struggling, and Mycroft finally got to closing the curtains. The display was awesome to watch, considering how Mycroft felt about sneezing, but Greg was clearly suffering. He had tears in his eyes and the sneezes sounded painful. "HEH'CXHH! HAH'PSRCCH!" He let out two more, these contained in his shirt sleeve. "Sorry..." He mumbled, stuffily. "Sud bages be sdeeze..." "Want a tissue?" Mycroft shyly offered. Greg nodded, saying "I coudd write this rebort od by sdeezig..." Edited June 11, 2015 by Awko the taco
Zuki Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 awww, these are cute! I don't normally go for AUs but I thought I'd pop in and they're so lovely. Please do continue.
Subtly Clashing Wishes Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I like the teenlock AU in other fics, so I was intrigued by this thread. Great start! Are you hinting Mycroft might enjoying sneezing as much as we do?
squealofapproval Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) Turns out I respond really well to positive feedback, and also really well to my obsession with these characters, so MOAR... @scw Yes, actually. It's been a personal headcanon of mine for a long time, so I decided to put it to good use. @AngelEyes I know, right? @katy693 Aw, thanks! @Zuki Aww! Glad I could deliver... ><><><><26. SuspicionSneezer: Sherlock"I think you're sick," John said, getting a better look at Sherlock. His friend's pale face was even paler than usual, and he had gathered dark circles under his eyes. Sherlock had been sitting, placid in his desk for the entirety of Homeroom, something unusual for a person with so much energy. He had been quiet except for a few sneezes and sniffles, but other than that he heard nothing from the little chatterbox. Stubbornly Sherlock shook his head. "You're just beigg baradoid..." Coughing into his shoulder, he laid his head down on the desk. "Dot sigk."John bit his lip, feeling along the exposed bit of forehead that Sherlock had not covered by the surface of the desk. It was unusually hot. "I'm onto you, Sherlock Holmes," he said, a little bit frustrated. Sherlock turned his head around, grumbling. "I dod't get sigk." Suddenly a hitch came in his breath, and he reached his hand up to sneeze in. "Heh'ITssh! Heh'TSSHuhh...!" They took some effort from him to get out, considering his chest felt so heavy. "Bless you. Seriously, Sherlock. You need to go home and get some rest." He paused for a second, thinking about the words that were about to come out of his mouth. "I care about you."Sherlock felt a twinge in his chest. What was that? Love? He had already established how he felt about John- no need for his dumb heart to remind him all the damn time. "Fide. Bud dot because of you." He succumbed to John's suspicions, raising his hand. "Cad I see the durse?"30. JuneSneezer: MycroftMycroft sat with Gregory on his bed, feeling miserable but happy at the same time. Contradictory, yes, but mostly due to his dumb nose. The flowers were in full bloom (it was June), and his yearly hayfever had kicked in. Greg was searching something, talking about it, and Mycroft just watched blissfully, too tired to pay attention but enjoying the time with Greg he got to spend. Reaching another tissue to his nose, he let out the tickle that had been bothering him. "Heh'yytssh! Hah'cchhhn!" Pausing for a second, he wiped his nose. "Hah'nnjcchh! Hh'knnchhh!" Greg ruffled Mycroft's hair and chuckled. "Aw, Myc. Stop. It sounds really painful.""It is," Mycroft said, rolling onto his side. But it's not that bad... You know, being here with you.(If you have any requests, I'd be glad to try doing them! Just comment below.) Edited June 11, 2015 by Awko the taco
Sophie<3 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Oh, a high school AU, how lovely! Requests... hm... something in which Sherlock and Mycroft interact directly? With a sick Sherlock preferably? *big hopeful eyes*
squealofapproval Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 Oh, a high school AU, how lovely! Requests... hm... something in which Sherlock and Mycroft interact directly? With a sick Sherlock preferably? *big hopeful eyes*We interrupt your regularly-scheduled programming to give you a request from Sophie<3! Rest"No, honestly, Sherly, I'm really worried about you." Mycroft rushed after a storming-out Sherlock, turning down the hallway and out onto the stairs. Sherlock was standing in the doorway, fighting the need to sneeze. "Shh...utt...IT'sshhh!" Sniffling frantically, he scrubbed under his nose. "Ubb..." He whined, feeling the desperate need to sneeze abate for a second. But it came back in gale force, and he sneezed again. "Hutt'KSSSchh!"Mycroft furrowed his brow in concern. As awkward as this rather open display of sneezing from his brother was, he was still an older brother, and damn it if he didn't do his job. So he went down the stairs and stood in the doorway, asking "Why do you have to get so defensive?""It's dode of your business." Sherlock huffed, avoiding looking Mycroft in the eyes. "I'm just looking out for you." Mycroft cupped Sherlock's chin, meeting his eyes. "You gotta take better care of yourself.""Heh'TCHsssh! ITkksssh!" Sherlock sneezed openly, causing Mycroft to drop his hand in embarassment. "Sorry..." He mumbled sheepishly. "It's because I god idvited tdoo the Watson's gabe dight, and I dod't wadda biss it." "I figured it was something to do with John. Can you cancel? You need rest, with those circles under your eyes." Mycroft noticed the sleep-bags which had developed from Sherlock's insomnia-ridden night before."Bud..." A debate rose in Sherlock's throat, but he stopped it. "Ogkay, you wid. I dod't wadda get Johd sigk..." He pulled his phone from his pocket, giving John a call.Thirty minutes later, the Holmes brothers were in their pajamas on the couch, watching Criminal Minds on the TV. Tea mugs and cough drops were spread out among the array of tissues on the coffee table, and a fire was going in the fireplace. "Isn't this better?" Mycroft asked. "A little," Sherlock said with a shrug, even though it totally was.
