Car Sneezes (m)

(note : I changed some of this story because I'm paranoid)

It happened just a couple hours ago, on the way back from hanging out downtown with some friends. My guy friend (who I have a small crush on) was taking me home (technically he's not supposed to drive anyone but family, whoops) and that's when it happened. For anyone who likes physical descriptions, his mom once said she thought he looked like Luke Hemmings (if you don't know who he is, Google it) and I have to agree, except he's got brown eyes and redder hair.

I'd noticed - because I'm hyper aware to all cold and allergy symptoms, I doubt anyone else did - that while we'd been out, he'd been sniffling a lot, and he mentioned at one point that his throat was sore. I thought maybe he was sick, but I hadn't seen any real symptoms, so I thought it was me being overly hopeful.

We chatted throughout the car ride and I noted that he was still sniffling. When we were almost to my house, at a stoplight, he dipped his head down (actually it sort of jerked), not taking his hands off the wheel, and sneezed. It was a pretty soft sneeze (I'm a little disappointed, I thought they'd be bigger, coming from him). I'm not very good at spelling, but I'd say it was sort of a "kshh". He lifted his head up and blinked a few times. I was freaking out, internally, because I've never heard him sneeze before, but I replied something dumb, I don't remember exactly but I think it was something like 'bless you, good thing we weren't moving!' He's pretty shy and awkward, but he didn't seem embarrassed at all and just laughed. (I think he said something back, but I don't remember what it was)

He didn't sneeze again, but he continued to sniffle. (God boy, use a tissue!). Nothing else happened after that, and I wish I was seeing him again before I go on vacation, so it'll be a mystery. I can't even text him, since he's 'lost' his phone (though I suspect it fell out of his pocket into the toilet)

(I can't believe this actually happened, even though it's not a big deal)

Aww, I really like surprise sneezes. It was great that you were so graceful when blessing him. I could never be like that.

I agree, surprise sneezes are always so delightfully unexpected and they always leave me feeling "whaaaaaaaaaatdidthatreallyjusthappen". And I just tend to be super alert after that :-)

Cute obs. Thanks. Sorry you won't get to see him again before you leave. Have a lovely holiday though. Now at least, you know what they sound like :-)

Softer, gentler sneezes from boys are the BEST! You're so lucky (Even if you were expecting something louder!)
