Hello, long time no updates.. Sorry! I’ve had a lot going on and have had zero free time but now that the boys are getting into a schedule (don’t let me fool you, twins never get on a schedule, we simply learn to adapt to no sleep and constant tasks) this momma is also getting some of her life back. But I never finished my story with Ben and Aubrey (and Emma) and writing is kind of calming and therapeutic to me so I wanted to kind of pick up where I left off with them and bring in a new story. I can’t promise this will be updated very often - maybe twice a week? If my life stays how it is now, once again, no promises. (just saying, I typed this intro 2 weeks ago and it’s taken me this long to write the first part….) Hope you enjoy!

A hand along my back told me that the dreaded time had come, it was morning again. I opened one eye just in time to see a shadow escape through the door and feel a cool breeze sweep over me. I turned to the balcony door to find the door propped open. Rolling out of bed and I kicked the door shut and pulled a warn cardigan on over the tank top I had fallen asleep in. I slipped into a pair of light jeans and rubbed my eyes before looking into the mirror. The mess in my bun had reached the perfect amount and I smiled at how surprisingly cute it looked. Peeking into Emma’s room on my way down the hall, I wasn’t surprised to see Ben had already got her out of bed. I could smell fresh waffles as I dragged myself down the stairs and had a smile stick to my lips as soon as I entered to see Ben standing over the stove.

I quietly took a seat at the island and exhaled a laugh at my daughter who was falling asleep in her waffles. “Good morning beautiful.” Ben’s voice grabbed my attention back and I shivered beneath his touch while his hand held below my chin and his lips pressed to mine. “Morning.” A plate was put in front of me and I sighed thinking about how much I already missed my bed. “Eat.” Ben insisted before kissing my head quickly and hopping up the stairs. I poked at the waffles for a few minutes before I heard the show start, pulling me back to reality. I pushed the plate back and got up to grab my now fully asleep child out of her syrup. “Let’s get you cleaned up.” She whined as I wiped her hands and face and pulled her from the high chair.

After getting her all cleaned up and dressed I placed her on the living room floor to play while getting my things together for school. “You hardly ate.” I jumped at Bens voice behind my back, not knowing he had been there. “I wasn’t very hungry this morning.” He turned me around and held me tight against him, observing my eyes. “You look tired.”I shrugged away from him and exited the kitchen. “Why don’t I take Emma to daycare and come back to get you before class. You can lay down for 20 minutes.” I simply rolled my eyes and grabbed his keys off the dining room table. “Or not.” I heard him laugh before following me through the front door, Emma giggling in his arms.

I flipped the heat up as we backed out from the driveway and peeked back at Emma who was snuggling up to the bear Ben had recently got her. “Warm enough?” Ben laughed as I continued to adjust the heat. “Oh sorry, too hot?” He shook his head and gazed back at Emma in the mirror. “Passed right out.” He laughed.

As we pulled into the parking lot of her daycare centre, Ben signalled me to stop and wait for him. He ran around the front of the car and pulled Emma out from her car seat gently propping her up on his shoulder before opening my door for me and kissing my cheek. “My lady.” He said waiting for me to get out from the jeep and take his hand. We entered the building hand in hand and as he handed Emma off to one of the women who work in her room I felt extra attached. I kissed her forehead and watched her eyelids flutter. “She’s been fine, just tired I think. Call me if anythings up with her today.” She nodded and Ben tugged softly on my arm after I continued to stand a stare. “Don’t wanna be late babe.” He smiled. “Bye baby, see you later. Thanks.” I smiled at all the other children before turning and following Bens lead.

“Next stop, hell.” He said starting the jeep back up. A smile peeked at the corners of my mouth as I turned to look out the window. The drive to school was rather silent. Lucky Ben picked up on my lack of talking and turned the radio up instead of questioning me. We pulled into the school parking lot, and as usual he opened my door and grabbed my bag before locking the jeep and guiding me to the front doors. As we entered the school he squeezed my hand, bringing my attention to him sweet smile. “Only 6 hours to go.” I nodded with what I hoped was a convincing smile before dropping my attention to the ground and sighing. As a pain formed between my eyes, I knew it was going to be a long day.
