thethingof Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I seem to be on a spree with seeing amazing sneezes lately, especially since I started my new job which seems to be more of a sneeze factory than anything else. And I'm loving it.I recently got a new job, in a supermarket, and I was working the other day with this guy who we'll call Ben. Ben is cool, but he's really shy and quiet and doesn't really talk much unless you initiate conversation with him, but when you do he's nice. He's quite short, medium length brown hair, quite a round face, pierced eyebrow. Anyway the other day we were stocking up the washing detergent after the store closed, and he's only new as well, and he knocked a bottle of the stuff off the shelf and the cap split and it went everywhere, it was a BIG bottle. He went straight to the closet and got a mop and water and stuff, bent down and started cleaning up. Within about ten seconds, he released an amazing double sneeze, a sort of "ha-emffchoo, ha-emxchoo". I was then interested, and kept an eye on him. About 10 seconds later he started up again, this time five sneezes but a bit more spaced out: "ha-nxxchoo...ha-emchoo.....ugh...ha-echoo....ha..ha-ECHoo.....ha...ha..UGH..ha-...ha-EXCHOO". The last one got stuck and became desperate; it was beautiful. He became stuck with the pre sneeze face for about ten seconds, with his breath hitching over and over until he was relieved of that "pain". At this point I asked him if he was ok, and he responded that he was allergic to the scent of washing detergent, but luckily he's never near the stuff. Until now. He then sneezed another double, "ha-nxxchoo, ha-ECHoo" before sighing heavily and rubbing his now itchy eyes. "It makes me sneeze like crazy and my eyes go all itchy it's awful". He then told me a brief story about how he was at a friend's house and his friend's mum was doing the washing and he'd had an hour long sneezing fit. By this point I offered to finish cleaning up for him so he could get away from the source of his sneezing, but he let out a few more odd sneezes across the rest of the shift, mostly singles but a delightfully rapid fire triple later on, a sort of: "ha-enxxch-henxchh-enxxch" with no pause for breath in between. He was fine by the time our shift ended. I somehow mustered the courage to ask if he was allergic to anything else and he said no but that he also sneezes when he looks at the sun and mostly in bursts of three, so he's a photic sneezer which was some nice additional information! So, how mean would it be to deliberately break another bottle near him next time we work together?
thethingof Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR I was joking at the end, I know some people take that stuff seriously so I want to make it clear I'm joking. I wouldn't ever make someone else suffer an allergy attack for my personal enjoyment. That is all
gryffin Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Very mean. Buuuut... accidents do happen And perhaps all you need to do is hang around him when he goes out into the sunlight?Jokes aside, this was lovely. I wish I had coworkers like that! Thanks for sharing, and keep us up to date

Thanks for sharing, and keep us up to date Haha yeah I might just do that! Thanks, and yes I shall do! Also I'm gonna go ahead and assume you are mgryffin on YouTube? If so, your Liked Videos playlist is my biggest source of male sneezing videos, so thank you for that!
gryffin Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Right! I'd never realised that it was public - in fact I was positively sure that I'd made it private! Anyway, good to know it's being appreciated Thank you!
atchoum Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Thanks for the observation at work - a very interesting setting. What an interesting allergy too ! I know people can react to washing powder - I read somewhere that the place they kept it at the supermarket was called sneeze aisle - so it's probably somewhere to keep your eye on anyway.

Still, not complaining!
ukrsneeze Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Very nice! I wish I was there with you too *.*Now you know how to make him sneeze, if you know what I mean
thethingof Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 Haha I do indeed! Maybe I'll open some detergent on a bright sunny day and just let him start up and probably never stop
March Hare Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Hoo, so nice. Things like that can brighten up an entire job!(I do have to wonder though... How the bleep does he do laundry?!)
