PC B W/ U Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 So, I ordered some chhinkni a while back, and I've used it a few times. It works great, but I was starting to wonder about the ingredients. I get drug tested for my job, and even though chhinkni claims to be "all natural," it wouldn't be the first time I've heard of a legal substance causing a positive drug test. Near as I can tell, the ingredients are eucalyptus, menthol, and camphor. I'm sure the first two are fine, but I'm not positive about the third. Plus, since the powder is so reminiscent of Vicks products, it makes me wonder if there are any chemical similarities (Vicks can cause false positives for meth on some tests). Has anyone ever looked into this? I'm enjoying the chhinkni, but not enough to risk my job over it.
Sitruuna Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) It should be legal unless there are some unlisted, weird ingredients/additives (which I doubt - it's probably clean). Eucalyptus and menthol are very basic things and camphor is kind of commonly used, too. It's poisonous if eaten in large enough quantities (eating is not recommended) so I probably wouldn't use chhinkni too often just to be safe.hereIf you were to test falsely positive for something you could just tell them that you occasionally use chhinkni to treat [what ever would be appropriate]. Though I think you should probably be safe if you don't use it all the time nor a lot. Edited August 24, 2015 by Sitruuna
A440 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Camphor is perfectly legal. Vicks vaporub (which contains only camphor) doesn't cause false positives on drug tests, but the vicks inhaler contains levomethamphetamine, which while structurally similar to meth (well, it *is* meth, just flipped around in a mirror) is just a vasopressor without any effects on the brain. That's why it can cause you to fail a drug test. So no, you've nothing to worry about.
