The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Prompt Request

Hello,

There are a few things that I'm in the process of finishing up but in the meantime 1) it's fairly quiet at work and 2) I need distracting from boring offline stuff which means that I have the time and am in the mood for writing.

I don't really ask for prompts very often and I offer no promises (could there be a less enticing way to start a post? ) but I am itching to write some Man from U.N.C.L.E. fic after seeing the film last week but am drawing a total blank. So in the hope that other people have seen the film and have ideas I am asking for prompts!

I'm happy to write all combinations of Illya, Napoleon, Gaby (m/m/f, m/m or m/f) or gen and the characters Waverly and Victoria from the film as well. I have watched the original series so I'd be happy taking prompts for that too but only for Illya and Napoleon. I will write more or less anything (nothing 18+), allergies/colds, male or female. Prompts can be anything from a word to a scenario; things that can be filled short and sweet are probably more likely to see the light of day and this board!

I've always had a soft spot for Napoleon and Illya together - anything where one of them has a cold and the other is forced into the role of caretaker would be nice! Personally I like the idea of Illya being sick, but I also like the idea of him having to take care of his partner and being rather exasperated by the whole thing, esp. if Solo was being whiney and/or bratty about being sick - or else Illya being the one who is sick, and being totally obstinate about accepting any help or caretaking.

Soooo...guess who saw this film today? I'm all for an Illya fic (he's the kind of flawed character that I love in movies). So anything with him having a cold and trying to soldier through it, and either Napoleon or Gaby (or both!) looking after him and making sure he's okay. Perhaps following the events of the movie when they're in Istanbul?

This is probably what I'm going to aim for although as a heads up, I started writing this and then promptly wrote 3000 words of allergic Napoleon because my brain is an ass like that. So it's on it's way just later than I originally planned.

And yes this sounds good. I mean, taking that picture above as a starting point, at the end of the film Napoleon is in a waistcoat and shirt, Gaby is in a dress and Illya is in a jumper and a jacket. Clearly he is already unwell. /adjusts tinhat.

I'm so happy to see that other people like this movie too and want to see sneezy Illya and Solo just as much as me. If your still looking for fic ideas, I've come up with two. Idea 1 is that Solo and Illya are both sick but Illya is totally pretending he is fine because a) he wants to make take care of his team and he's scared about appearing vulnerable and weak. Of course, in the end, they end up taking care of each other. Idea 2 is kind of similar. Solo and Illya are stationed somewhere together and Illya gets sick. He tries to hide it because of his training and also because he doesn't want Solo to think less of him. Hurt/comfort stuff happens and Solo ends up taking care of Illya. Even if you totally ignore these ideas, I'll pretty much be happy with any story you write in this fandom.

I am sort of rolling all of the above suggestions into a 5 times fic (possibly with a +1 on the end, although I haven't figured that bit out yet?) and as soon as I've finished a couple of sections I'll start posting it up.

Bruyere, your allergic Napoleon fic was literally the best thing I have ever read! I love it so much, I don't even have the words to describe it, except maybe visceral. And perfect. And hot. And adorable.

Are people still into this fandom? I love it with all my heart and my be slightly obsessed but I think its fandom star waned too quickly

And how do people feel about sickfic that has comfort and caretaking but no sneezing...?

I am most definitely still in this fandom *waves tiny flag* I have another allergic Napoleon thing (Idk this film did weird things to me and my usual preferences) and I'm making progress on my 5 things fic although it's slower now that Uni has started up again for me.

And RiversD/RiverStyx wrote a very cute Illya drabble in her drabble thread that you should definitely check out of you haven't already.

I am 100% here for sickfic with comfort and caretaking! *Starts patiently queueing* And I think it would be okay to post that in the related fetishes forum?

Also I'm so happy that you'd be interested in sneeze free hurt/comfort type fics. Because I am a totally bizarre person, I have a "thing" for sneezing (clearly) and I adore fanfic... But I 99% can't do sneezy fanfic. I don't even know why. Love original sneezefic. Adore sneezy fanfic for the hurt/comfort aspects, but totally skim over the actual sneezing. You and Garnet are the 1%. I don't know what it is, you're magical. And I've been lurking in the community under various guises for YEARS now (from when the Tarot of Sneezes was still active!).

Um. So. This is exciting I adore hurt/comfort and I'm madly in love with TMFU and it makes me happy there's a tiny corner here to call home for that
