feverprince
I've never posted on here before, so I'm not really sure how to go about doing this to be completely honest. I made the account a while ago but had kind of been too nervous to post. The past few weeks though, I've been around an entire group of friends and have witnessed them each succumb to a cold one by one. I figured it was only a matter of time before I ended up catching whatever has been plaguing my friends the last few weeks, and now here I am. I figured that if I'm suffering through a cold, I might as well share, right?Everyone around me has been passing around a really rough chest cold, complete with horribly stuffed noses, fevers, chesty coughs, and- you guessed it- sneezing. Being around all of these sickies, I figured I was going to catch whatever was going around anyway, so I spent as much time as I could around those friends. One of my friends (and a crush), which we will call Z, began complaining about how tired and gross she'd been feeling, and being around to witness her slowly deflate due to a cold has got me in a trance. She was constantly asking me to pass her tissues, explosively sneezing, just being a general sick mess, and, at one point, even asked me to feel her cheeks to check for fever- yum!So, just as I predicted would happen, two days ago I woke up with an extremely sore throat- the kind that almost starts you gagging every time that you swallow. I was simultaneously cursing my luck and thanking god for the week or two that are going to follow. Of course, the sore throat the first day always sucks because you aren't getting to bask in any of the other symptoms yet. Luckily for me it didn't take too long for those to appear.I'm not going to lie- I may or may not have started depriving myself of sleep a little in order to worsen what I already have. Why not have a little fun when I'm already sick? When I woke up yesterday, my nose was a dripping mess, and my throat was all scratchy. I was so exhausted, but I got up and went to see my friends anyway. Hearing them all coo over me and ask me how I was feeling was bliss. I couldn't stop sneezing no matter how hard I tried- and these were big, messy sneezes that left me gasping for air. They were coming in triples and even quadruples. In the early part of the day, I had a pack of tissues in my pocket, but when I ran out, I began using the sleeves of my hoodie, and was constantly pressing it to my face to try and stifle the ones that surprised me.When I woke up this morning, I felt even sicker. My nose is completely stuffed up, and my voice is going as well, making me very audibly sick. First thing this morning, someone that I was talking to immediately looked sympathetic and asked me how I felt, instructing me to get rest and take it easy for a while. Right now my nose is completely red from blowing it all day and my cheeks are really flushed. I feel so lousy, I'm almost certain I have a fever... double yum! Plus, my sneezing has increased since yesterday. I can feel the cold starting to move to my chest, and I know I'm in for some really rough coughing the next few days. I want someone to come over and provide a little TLC right about now, and maybe I can share some of this cold with them... And this is only the third day! I wonder what else is in store for me this week. Link to comment
