countless
That is a good question, not ? Click the link for some possible answers :-)https://www.quora.com/What-happens-when-a-lead-actor-gets-a-severe-head-cold-during-production Link to comment
MyOwnPrivateSFC
I'm pretty sure this is how they ended up with Stabler's cold being a B-plot in an SVU ep: they couldn't work around it, so they had to work it in...including when he got better! Link to comment
Chanel_no5
That must be rather tricky given that they don't shoot the scenes in the right order. I actually haven't given this anywhere near as much thought as I probably should have. Except for when I watched the Criminal Minds episode Alchemy and there is one scene where Blake's voice is so scratchy just listening to it made my throat hurt. I did give a lot of thought to the filming process of that episode... Link to comment
TheMaster
I always love hearing about/ see how different productions managed to either work in or work around actor health. I'd imagine it's also pretty different in movies vs TV, just because its probably easier to make a bigger change to accommodate on TV because they likely have less pressure from on high to keep the story line exactly the same. Then again you also hear about them using body doubles for most of the shot and then only using the actor for their own coverage. But when it comes to cold's its pretty easy to imagine they just try to only use the actor when needed and have them down enough cold medicine before they go on that on top of the makeup its not as noticeable unless you're looking for it. Grasper
I just love how specific the question is!I wonder if someone from the forum wrote it, hmmmmm? Link to comment
Bashfulnewbie
I'm sure they mostly ignore it. There's tons of shows I've watched where you could tell one of the actors had a cold due to nasal voice. And because of them not shooting scenes in the right order, it's jumped around where they sounded horribly nasal and then perfectly fine only to go back to horribly nasal later again. Link to comment
Chanel_no5
Though it would be awesome to be editing those movies/TV shows and get to see all the outtakes...THIS I think about a lot. Link to comment
SleepingPhlox
I have absolutely nothing of substance to add except to say that this is one of my number one favourite things to daydream about... Link to comment
