Red Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Whoa, whoa, whoa! That's just perfect! I don't know how to thank you for that! It's gorgeous! I love AOS as much as I love TOS and how you write the characters is simply wonderful! I always love your Star Trek fics and I'm beyond happy to see you're my Secret Santa! 11 hours ago, Aliena H. said: I refrained myself from writing angst (it was difficult but I managed!). Even if there are some tricky situations (this is Star Trek after all, everything can't be all right all the time!) I'm totally okay with a bit angst if it's because of some aliens who attack the ship or injuries or such things. I just can't stand to read someone's deadly. Maybe that's because I'm working in hospital and I always remember how it feels when you think a patient is about to choke to death or something like that. 11 hours ago, Aliena H. said: Jim took two steps towards the CMO’s office and picked up a strange, muffled sound, which sounded suspiciously like a sneeze. - Hgxthh! - Bones? - Hngx’TCH! Yeah, I’m coming! This time, the sound was a bit louder – and unmistakable. The young captain sighed and rolled his eyes. - Bless you. Don’t tell me you’re sick? he asked, popping his head at the door just in time to see his friend stifling a third sneeze. I so, so love this lines! 11 hours ago, Aliena H. said: - Jim, you chose me for a reason. Please let me be judge of my own health condition. Last I heard, I was the chief medical officer. Your Bones is great! I can hear his voice during reading your story! And sneezy Bones together with Jim and Spock is just... *melting* 11 hours ago, Aliena H. said: The first officer greeted them with a short nod and raised an eyebrow (this expression was now his trademark and it had already earned him a nickname – among others, less kind – from the chief medical officer) when McCoy sneezed harshly in his elbow before getting up on the transporter pad. - HAHSSHHOO! Dammit! He fumbled in his pocket, took a handkerchief and blew his nose, glaring at Spock, apparently ready to fire if the Vulcan dared to comment on the matter. YES! I can't wait for more
SneezeFanGirl Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 It so lovely Stories about Star Trek is my favoriete. I'll be wait for next part )
matilda3948 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 This is great! I love your Star Trek stories (okay, I love all your stories) and sneezy Bones is my favorite. Bravo!

Red Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 It's SO great, thank you! 7 hours ago, Aliena H. said: - HESSHOO! Hih-hhh-HAHSSHHOO! HAAAHSHuhh! HahHAT’SHOO! Excuse be. He buried his nose in his handkerchief, feeling slightly light-headed – and more than embarrassed. - Are you unwell, doctor McCoy? asked the leader of the Ponantians, his voice carrying a genuine concern. - Just a bit of a cold, the physician answered, blushing. I’m sorry. So love this part! I'm absolutely into Bones sneezing in front of his friends/the crew/strangers (well, in front of everyone. It's great to see how everyone reacts and it's great if they are talking about it!) 7 hours ago, Aliena H. said: He wanted to apologise – What was he thinking, dammit? That was supposed to be a diplomatic mission! Maybe his fever was higher than he thought – but he felt the sting of a hypo on his neck. His last coherent thought was Dear Lord, why me? Poor Bones! I can't wait for the next part!

Really, THANK YOU once again! You are great! You are quite welcome! It's has been a total pleasure to get a sneak peak at this story. And if there are any grammar/spelling mistakes lay blame at my feet. I'm looking forward to seeing how @Red (and everyone else) likes the rest of the story. Spoiler: You're going to love it.

I was really excited to see you had written some more Star trek, Aliena, and this was a pleasure to read as always. Poor Bones. I like that he's trying to soldier through, and also that he's not being an idiot and trying to conceal his illness from everyone. It's fun to see him being "Look, I am a doctor, I say I can cope and you're in no danger, so y'all can pipe down right about now." I'm also enjoying the dynamic you are showing between Jim, Spock, and Bones in these tentative first days as an official team. I look forward to seeing what you do with it in future parts, especially considering the ending of the last chapter....

Fuzzy&Warm Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I love this! The triumvirate dynamic is wonderful and the plot so far is great, because it isn't proper Star Trek until our main guys end up knocked out thrown in the planet of the week's prison or both. And now poor McCoy has to deal with his cold on a stealth mission. This can only lead to good things for us anyway.
Red Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 That's the best christmas present I ever received! It's so wonderful! 21 hours ago, Aliena H. said: The physician was sitting on the bed, chest heaving. His eyes widened in surprise when he saw Spock and he desperately tried to hold his sneezes back, but the Vulcan knew it was useless. He entered the room and quickly closed the door behind him while Dr McCoy, giving up, closed his eyes and sneezed in the handkerchief he had raised a few inches from his face. - Hih’nGHTtch! Hhh-Hih-HHeh'ITSCHh! Sorry, I… Ehhh… HIH’ISSHH! Heh-HHISHHOO! He had tried to muffle the sound, but the two last sneezes came harshly out of him, probably scratching his throat and dissolving in a coughing fit. Spock came closer and, in a gesture which seemed awkward to him, put a clumsy hand on the physician’s shoulder. He did not know if the man needed comfort, but it sounded painful and the Vulcan wanted his full attention for the explanation he was about to give him. - Doctor, are you well enough to listen to me? Poor, little, sick Bones! I love how you descibe everything! And Spock being insecure with comforting someone is too sweet! 21 hours ago, Aliena H. said: Spock hesitated. Logically, he should leave Dr McCoy behind, for he would delay them. The chief medical officer was not at the best of his health and could compromise their mission. On the other hand… On the other hand, it was always better to have a doctor with you. - Do you need to sneeze? he asked. When we are in the corridor, we will have to be silent. This is SO Spock! 21 hours ago, Aliena H. said: The man nodded his agreement and stood up, blowing his nose one last time. They opened the door and crossed the corridor. The key was hanging at its place. They took it, opened the door and entered carefully in the room, ready to confront a Ponantian. James Tiberius Kirk was here indeed, and alone in the room. But as soon as he saw his face, Spock knew something was wrong. Very wrong. Oh, poor Jim! What did the Ponantians do with him? Can't wait for more! Thank you!

Red Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 That's just great! Thank you so much! On 29.12.2016 at 5:26 PM, Aliena H. said: The captain’s smile widened and he rushed towards the first officer. - Hey, Spocky! How are you? I’m sooooo happy you found me at last! Let’s go fight these bastards and get back to the ship! That was not exactly discrete, and no doubt the Vulcan was about to make some smart and logical comment about it, but Jim didn’t let him speak – before he had time to react, the captain’s arms were already around his and he was hugging him, his head leaning on the first officer’s shoulder. - Captain, what are you doing? We must be silent! Spock said in a low voice (was there a small hint of panic in it? McCoy couldn’t tell but it was clearly not as neutral as usual), trying to get rid of the strong embrace. - Oh, come on, my little Vulcan, Jim chuckled, it’s all right! Do you know I like you? You seem to believe I don’t, but I do like you. Really. We make a great, great, great team, don’t you think so? I can hear his voice in my mind! Gorgeous! On 29.12.2016 at 5:26 PM, Aliena H. said: - Yeah, yeah, love you too, he mumbled, divided between embarrassment and amusement. My God, what did they do to you? Jim started to giggle. - Don’t know, but it’s fun. AND I can virtually see this. Love it! On 29.12.2016 at 5:26 PM, Aliena H. said: He had tried to move his head, but his nose was pressed against his friend’s shoulder and there was little he could do to avoid sneezing in his shirt. Well, at least, the sound would be somehow muffled. - EESHHhhoo! HehHISHHOO! Heh… Okay, these ones were really loud and it started to become really embarrassing. - Jib please, he tried again, sniffing wetly, I’b godda sdeehhh… Heh… Hih… Spock grabbed the captain’s arms and forced him to step aside from the chief medical officer, who turned quickly and sneezed harshly in his cupped hands. Awwww.... just awww.... On 29.12.2016 at 5:26 PM, Aliena H. said: - We jump! Jim yelled happily – and the second after he had thrown himself into the water. McCoy, slack-jawed, watched him falling and landing in the river with a loud splash. Spock, next to him, didn’t allow his expression to betray anything of his supposedly non-existent feelings, but the physician could bet he was completely exasperated and ready to nerve-pinch their stupid and childish captain as soon as they would catch up with him – because, now, they didn’t have the choice, did they? - I hate water, he mumbled, and then remembered he was speaking to a Vulcan, whose planet had been composed of warm and dry deserts, without oceans. Spock raised an eyebrow, and they both jumped. Drugged Jim is adorable! And I can't wait for a sick Bones who's forced to jump into (probably cold) water. Yes, I'm a bit mean but... you know.

When we are in the corridor, we will have to be silent. I can totally see Spock asking this in a totally blank expressionless manner and Bones being like, What the hell, seriously? On 12/27/2016 at 9:22 AM, Aliena H. said: - I don’t know when I’m gonna sneeze! It’s quite unpredictable, you know. - Yes, this is a very inconvenient reflex of your species. LOL On 12/29/2016 at 10:26 AM, Aliena H. said: The Ponantians didn’t know much about vulcan physiology, but they knew nothing either about James Tiberius Kirk’s strange reactions to almost every known product in the universe – even mild sedatives. We make a great, great, great team, don’t you think so? The physician saw Spock’s ears turn green, and if their situation had not been that critical, he would probably have started laughing hysterically. The sight of the always stern and uptight first officer tenderly hugged by his friend was absolutely hilarious. I can totally picture this and it is hysterical! On 12/29/2016 at 10:26 AM, Aliena H. said: - I don’t know. Could be minutes, could be hours. Jim tends to… react quite strongly to unknown medication. Oh dear. Poor Jim. On 12/29/2016 at 10:26 AM, Aliena H. said: High, yes. And considering his current state, McCoy didn’t want to think about the way down – it should be epic, if he knew Jim well (and he unfortunately did). That doesn't sound good... Subtly Clashing Wishes Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 5 hours ago, Aliena H. said: Well, no, you hadn't told me, so thank you for the comment!!! Oh good, because I want to comment, but I don't want to repeat myself. As I read this a second time I'm always seeing new bits. I see some foreshadowing in this one. Also I know I didn't say this before. Your vocabulary is excellent.
Red Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Great as always! Thank you so much 5 hours ago, Aliena H. said: He sat on a rock, breathing heavily, and closed his eyes. - Are you all right, doctor? the Vulcan asked, noticing the shivering of the human’s body. Awwww, so cute! Spock caring is... just... 5 hours ago, Aliena H. said: - He’s not helping us, it’s not fair! - The doctor needs to rest, the Vulcan answered, trying to sound severe – and apparently managing it, because the young man retreated hastily and continued his job without a word. - My God, you’re absolutely tehhh… terrifying… HETSHOO! HATCHOO! Sniff. But he’s right, you know. I should be helping you. He sniffed again and stood up – and immediately stumbled, unsteady. Spock, who had foreseen this, quickly came up to the man and grabbed his arm. - Sit down, doctor. High Jim is so, so, so funny. I laughed out loud when I read this! adorable And Bones who's trying to help everyone even when he's miserable on his own and being stubborn - love it! Well and caring Spock... *melting* 5 hours ago, Aliena H. said: He did not answer and stood up slowly. He could see it too – a crossing between a panther and a rhinoceros, not as big but seemingly as powerful. A predator, ready to jump on its prey. Maybe going through the jungle was not such a good idea after all. Uh, yes, you're really mean. And I have to thank you for it! I guess fighting/running/what ever they have to do now also won't improve Bones cold...
AngelEyes Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 16 hours ago, Aliena H. said: Spock hoped the captain would recover soon from the relaxant, because handling a “high” James Tiberius Kirk was even more strenuous than following his (sometimes questionable) orders when he was in his normal state. LOL! 16 hours ago, Aliena H. said: - HAAACHOO! It’d be a lie if I told you I’m perfectly fine, he replied tersely, but I’ll survive, thanks. A very McCoy answer. 16 hours ago, Aliena H. said: Spock raised an eyebrow and McCoy chuckled. The man could be really efficient when he decided to. LOL 16 hours ago, Aliena H. said: Maybe going through the jungle was not such a good idea after all. Uh oh!

Red Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 As always: It's wonderful, thank you so much! It's okay if there's not too much fluff with Jim. I like Spock/Bones fluff even more! That's why I adore Star Trek beyond that much 13 hours ago, Aliena H. said: it's called "Vulcan comfort"... YES! YES! YES! 13 hours ago, Aliena H. said: - It’s called thalehhh… ehh... tha… oh no, not… again… heh-hhh-hih-AAASSCH’UH! thaleisidia – and it helps cicatrisation and sanitizing the wound. Of course, it’s not as powerful as a good antiseptic hypo, but we’re lucky to have some hehhh… here. HETSCHHuh! Hh’ETCHH! He managed to catch the two last sneezes in Spock’s handkerchief and sniffed wetly, light-headed. He was fed up with sneezing and started to wonder if it was really a cold. There had been some cases of flu aboard the ship last week… - Bones, you’re shivering. [...] - The captain is right, doctor. You need some rest. Stay near the fire. I will stand guard during the night. OMG so cute! 13 hours ago, Aliena H. said: - Jim, I’m sorry, I… - Told you it doesn’t matter, slurred the young man, pulling him back. - HHISHuh! HehHISHHOO! Hihh’ISSHH! The last explosions were somehow muffled into his friend’s neck, but instead of the disgusted reaction he was expecting, he received a sluggish “Bless you”. And this is extrem cute! whoa.
AngelEyes Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 20 hours ago, Aliena H. said: He needed to do something – anything – and the only useful thing he could do was to heal the Vulcan. I feel like this is Bones' go-to mode when in crisis. If he's upset, unsure, worried, whatever, just Be a Doctor! 20 hours ago, Aliena H. said: - I’m all right, Jim, don’t worry. HhhAHHSSHAHH! The captain arched an eyebrow in a perfect imitation of their first officer. - Do you really think I believe you? He may not be the doctor, but he's not stupid Bones. 20 hours ago, Aliena H. said: - As long as I am not involved in your… cuddling, I will agree that this is logical indeed. LOL This is so good. Or the flu, he added after a moment of reflexion. Don’t tell me you’re worried? The Vulcan straightened, slightly offended. - Doctor, I am immune to this kind of human emotions. - Of course, McCoy answered with a grin. LOL 15 hours ago, Aliena H. said: He cut off as realisation hit him. Vulcan did not exist anymore. He found himself breathing slowly to chase the horror of the vision which had haunted him every day since the destruction of his native planet. McCoy observed him with a sympathetic look. Not usually! 15 hours ago, Aliena H. said: Spock allowed himself a half-smile before feeding the fire with some more wood.
