Serendipity Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Hi Dontyouknowwhoiamyet! I’m happy to be writing for you for this year’s Secret Santa! I’m sorry it’s so so so so close to the deadline, but I hope you like the story! Without further ado, let’s get into the story! Happy Holidays, @Dontyouknowwhoiamyet!! Vincent walked up the stairway to Liz’s door. Liz was Vincent’s girlfriend of 3 months. Vincent knocked on Liz’s door, and waited for a few seconds before he heard some footsteps from inside getting louder and louder. The brass doorknob turned, and he saw a glimpse of Liz’s bright blonde hair before watching the rest of her appear from behind the door. “Hey Liz,” Vincent said, smiling as Liz opened the door wider, leaving room for Vincent to come in. “Hi!” Liz said, smiling widely as she ushered him in. Vincent smiled as he slipped his shoes off and put them by the door. Vincent noticed a different smell in the house, but ignored it for the time being. “How are you?” Vincent asked Liz. “I’m good, how about you?” Liz asked, sitting down on the couch. “I’m pretty good too. So, what do you want to do?” Vincent asked “Wanna watch some TV for a while?” Liz asked. “Sure, that sounds good,” Vincent said, taking a seat on the couch next to Liz. Vincent felt a small itch in his nose, and scrunched his nose up quickly. His nostrils twitched slightly, and Vincent started to wonder what was getting to his nose. His nose usually wasn’t one to get really tickly, unless he was around dust or cats. Vincent looked around. The room seemed pretty clean, and there wasn’t any cats around. He shrugged the tickly feeling off, assuming it would go away on it’s own. Vincent refused to give into a sneezing fit that easily, especially when he didn’t even know what was making his nose itch. Vincent was one of those types where any vulnerabilities would not be shown without a fight. He turned his attention back to the blond. “So, whh-what do you want to watch?” Vincent said, his voice hitching slightly, but it wasn’t that bad. But, Vincent didn't know what he was in for. Liz seemed to not notice the hitch, or just ignored it as she answered with something that Vincent didn’t hear, as he was concentrating on the slight prickle in the back of his nose. Well, it wasn’t as much as a slight prickle as a full on itch, but Vincent would never admit that to himself, of course. Vincent scrunched up his nose quickly, trying to quell the growing itch. What was making his nose itch so much? He then found out which show Liz had recommended, as she turned Friends on. As the tickle became unbearable, Vincent snapped his head to the side, away from Liz, with two held back sneezes. “Huh’TSHOO! TSHOO!” He sneezed. He rubbed his nose harshly before going back to his original position, with Liz’s head resting on his shoulder. “Bless you,” Liz said as she looked up at Vincent, seeing his nostrils turn a slight shade of pink. “Are you alright?” Liz asked. Vincent nodded and fought back the urge to sniff. “Yeah just...seasonal allergies,” Vincent said, trying to get the attention off of his current predicament. “Okay, if you’re sure,” Liz said, turning her attention back to Rachel and Ross on the TV, until she felt Vincent’s chest rise and fall quicker than it was before. She looked up at him again, and saw his nose twitching. Along with his nose twitching uncontrollably, his pinkish nostrils were flaring every couple of seconds as well. His breathing was erratic, and his toned chest was rising and falling quicker every second. His eyes glazed over and his jaw hung open as hitches escaped. As he became closer to the inevitable fit, his head started tipping back. Along with that, his eyes fluttered for a while until they squeezed shut, the sneeze exploding out of his mouth. Vincent turned as far away from Liz as possible as to avoid grossing her out when he sneezed. “Hhh...TSHOOO! Ah’TSSSHOOO! TSHHHOOO! Ahh...huhhh...Huh’TSHHOOO!” Vincent sneezed. As he rubbed his nose, he looked to the couch, seeing little white hairs littering the couch. “Thanks, what are these?” Vincent said, his nose itching as he held up one of the white hairs after Liz blessed him. “Oh! I can’t believe I forgot to tell you! I’ll be right back,” Liz said. Vincent nodded, putting down the white hair with the rest of them that were littering the couch, and hearing Liz’s footsteps get louder and louder. She eventually came into view of Vincent with a...Oh no. “This is Mittens,” Liz said, placing the white cat on her lap. Vincent wasn’t severely allergic to cats, but they did definitely make him sneeze a lot. “Isn’t she cute?” Liz asked, petting the white allergenic furball. “Yeahhhuuhhh’TSHOOO! TSHOO! Ah’TSHOOO! hhh...TSSHHOOOO!” Vincent sneezed. “Bless you. Are you sure you’re okay?” Liz asked her hitching boyfriend. Vincent nodded, not trusting himself to talk before he exploded with another fit of sneezes. “Huu’TSHOOO! TSHHOOO! TSHHOOO! heh-heahhhTSHHOOO!” Vincent sneezed into his elbow, turned away from Liz. Having a sudden realization, Liz asked wearily, “Are you allergic to cats?” Vincent shook his head, trying to hold back the sneeze that the white haired cat was causing. Liz shook her head. “That’s a complete lie,” Liz said, seeing right through his white lie. “N-hieh-No it’s n-hah-not,” Vincent said, sniffing instinctively, which caused a swarm of the dander to file into his nostrils. “Really?” Liz said. “You’re not allergic?” She said, softly placing the cat in Vincent’s lap. Vincent knew that it wasn’t worth it to keep the act up, but he still tried to. At least, until he felt what felt like millions of cat hairs rub under his nose. The stupid cat ran its tail under Vincent’s allergic nose, as if taunting him! “Hah- TSHHOO!! TSSHHOOO! HehhhTSHHOOO! Ah’TSHOOO! huuhh’TSHHOOO! TSHHOO!!” Vincent sneezed, as Liz, feeling bad for him, took the cat off his lap, and into the kitchen. While her allergic boyfriend got developed in a sneezing fit, Liz quickly got a tissue box, and took out a couple, handing them to Vincent. It hardly helped though, as his sneezes were much too strong to be stopped by a mere tissue. “TSSHHOO! Ih’TSSHHOOO! AHTSSHOOO! Tshooo! HihTSHHOOOO! AH’TSHHOOO! TSHHHHOOO! huhTSSHHOO!! hhh...hehhh...HEH-heiihh-TSSSHHHOOO!” Vincent sneezed, his sinuses aggravated by the shedding cat. He rubbed his twitchy nose with another tissue that Liz handed to him, and sneezed once more. “Bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you,” Liz blessed her allergic boyfriend for each time that he sneezed. “Thanks,” Vincent said, the tissues covering his slight blush. He rubbed his nose hard a couple times, in an attempt to get rid of the itch that invaded every inch of his nose, while Liz put the cat in its carrier. Liz came back with a travel pack of tissues that she handed to Vincent. “Let’s get some fresh air,” She said, grabbing his hand and pulling Vincent off the couch. Vincent smiled and pocketed the travel pack of tissues, going over to the door with Liz, and opening it for her. “Next time I’ll vacuum before you come around,” Liz smiled along with Vincent as the two walked to the park.
