Art Gallery Awkwardness (F)

On a recent visit to an art gallery (which rank up there with libraries as true goldmines for sneeze fetishists  ) I entered one room only to find myself confronted by a lovely young lady, mid- twenties, with short, straight hair and a fashionably large pair of glasses. What grabbed my attention was the unmistakable tilt of her head and that her hands where held in preparation for what just had to be a building sneeze.  

Sure enough, her eyes squeezed shut and she sneezed hard into her hands, her shoulders hunching forward with the force of it. She managed to half-stifle it, and I wondered whether this had been a last minute decision based on my sudden, unexpected appearance. Captivated as I was, I was unable to avert my stare quickly enough for when she opened her eyes and caught me blatantly staring at her. Caught off guard, I managed a smile, but to my surprise she thanked me enthusiastically! I think that either in her embarrassment or sneezy confusion, she thought that I had blessed her (which I almost never do  ).

We both headed on our way. All in all, a rather amusing and lovely encounter

Being thanked after NOT blessing someone must be a first!
