groundcontrol Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Hi all, I contemplated for a while what I should call this thread, and I just stuck with what's above. My question is, does anyone distinctly remember any stories from when they were really young that helped them realize their fetish? I've seen threads like this for movies, but I don't recall one for stories. My example isn't actually a book but rather a series of bedtime stories my grandmother used to tell me. They were about a guy called Captain Kilius, and so far as I can tell she just made him up. But he would go on adventures high and low throughout Lithuania and the Baltic Sea. My grandmother was a gifted story teller, and she'd never tell the same story two nights in a row. The stories were riveting but a special few were my favorite: the few times she even told "sick episodes" of these stories when Kilius would fall ill. One I remember distinctly is when he sailed to Sweden and caught a cold from being in the cold rain My little child self didn't precisely know why but I found myself really enjoying the stories in which he was sick. Sometimes my grandmother would ask me what adventure I wanted to hear about in the story so she could form something of interest to me, and deep inside I knew I was drawn to the sick stories but I also knew even at a young age that I shouldn't ask for something like that. So I didn't, and merely hoped that I'd get lucky when she told a story So after that example, I'll restate the question: have any of you encountered anything similar with a story, when you realized your fetish for the first time?
Chanel_no5 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I can't remember if there was a specific story made me realise the fetish - I don't think I ever "realised" it, it was always there, as far back as I can remember - but I do very, very vividly remember this small book titled "The Tea Party" about animals having a, uh, tea party, duh. And at one point "Mrs Elephant" had to sneeze. There was no reason for this sneeze, no background or buildup, it was just a scene mid-story, illustrated and all. Of course, I added a backstory. So in my copy (I don't know if I've thrown it away; I actually believe I saved all my fetish-related treasures in a secret box that I hid so well when moving out that I have no idea where it is) I casually added, "Because she had a cold". Note that this was before I knew allergies even existed. Oh, and I added a splash of red watercolour at a strategic place on the illustration as well. Sneaky, Chanel. Very sneaky. I loved this little book so much and I read it over and over, but I NEVER let anyone read it to me. I can't have been more than four, maybe five at the time, but I knew there was something very private and embarrassing about it.
count tiszula Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) I remember some kind person for Xtmass gave me a Sooty annual. It contained a story for some reason containing two elephants sneezing at each other. Standard elephant sneezing thing , Huge. elaborate buildups and destructive sneezes. And an illustration depicted the elephants in the aftermath f sneeze ecstasy lying down with their trunks straight forward on the ground. I dobt if it had any effect on my understanding of my having a sexual intst in sneezing, as clearly I had no Idea what sex was. And of course it can have had no physical effect on me . as all parents know that their children have to heve more time to play football, and nothing ever causes them to have physical reactions to things. Bluebird Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I had always vaguely remembered what mine was, but I just recently found it! And I've told this story a million times, but I'm gonna tell it again because it can finally be told properly. So! We own this big compilation book of classic Brothers Grimm stories, all fully illustrated and one of our favorite books to be read aloud to us. (And as I found out not too long ago, we still have it, which is pretty cool!) The retelling of Cinderella in this book details one part in which, while helping her sisters to get ready for the ball, Cinderella starts sneezing due to all of the powder and perfume that is in the air. She gets scolded for sneezing, and told by her sisters that she's only sneezing because she's jealous. And though I don't quite remember reading this particular passage over-and-over again, I do remember both asking my parents what sneezing was, and growing much more observant and fixated with it from that night onwards. xD
MysteryGirl Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I love this thread because it shows an appreciation for real, mature thoughts even very little kids can have, about not sharing certain things and whatnot. They know when something is not to be shared or mentioned sometimes, and its cool to think about it even in myself. I have two stories to share, just because these are some of the first memories I remember ever having, probably at age 4. The first took place in my uncle's hair salon, and he was cutting my mom's hair while telling her a story about when he was little. Now, I don't know if either of them recall this story being told, but I definitely do. Apparently, there was some woman at his house (a relative I guess) and they were playing a game I suppose. It was kind of like hide and seek, but with a cloth over the person's head that was seeking. When the cloth was put over his head, he started sneezing for whatever reason, and I distinctly remember him saying 'I was sneezing, and sneezing, and sneezing... I couldn't stop!' I think the vulnerability of the situation triggered a part of my brain, and that's when I knew. Another story, around the same time frame, I got my first LeapFrog book. (note this was not a touch screen version because those weren't made yet, but it came with an interactive pen) In one of the mini-stories, the main frog's sister got dust on her face and sneezed different vowel sounds so kids could figure out 'i, a, o, u' sounds. I pressed that button so many gosh darn times that it started to sound funny in my head
drowse Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Oh boy, where do I start So I remember this one time when I was like 6 and I was in the living room watching the disney movie "Dumbo" And it was the beginning where one of the adult elaphants tickled Dumbo's nose and he sneezed. I just couldn't stop rewinding it. Eventually my mom comes in and she's like "Why do you keep replaying that?" And of course, as young as I was, I really didn't know. Ugh, I cringe every time I think of that. It's so embarrassing.
Masked Chaos Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 One example that I can remember is from when I was quite a bit younger, and read a book that was (I think) called the magic sneeze. It was about casting magic by sneezing. I really enjoyed this book (I wonder why ) and wanted to buy more but never got round to it. Then one day (within months of this happening) I went round to a friend's house who had other books from the same series, and I just searched for all the sneezes in it (I didn't find many). I did it quickly, lest my friend find what I was doing and think it was weird. Even back then I though it was odd, and keep it secret without having even an inkling what it was.
