Chanel_no5 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 So, I had an appointment with my therapist today, and while I was in the waiting room, my doctor walked by in the corridor. Okay, description; she's maybe in her late forties or early fifties, about 5'7, thin (a fit kind of thin) but with the distinct hour-glass body shape. Short blonde hair, blue eyes, looks good in an open, honest sort of way if you know what I mean. She has a very distinct aura of authority about her, but it's a kind authority. Today she wore a navy pantsuit and a black turtleneck; way more formal than usual (last time I had an appointment with her, she wore white jeans and a fuzzy pink sweater for example), but man, you won't hear me complain! She very clearly had a cold, her nose was bright pink and she looked completely drained. Like, you could tell she had made an effort with her makeup, but it still wasn't enough to hide that she felt like crap. She was coughing a lot, a raw cough, maybe a little bit raspy but not the rattling, wheezing type of cough that freaks me out big time. But it even sounded like it really hurt her throat. To be honest, while I did wince from hearing it, I did so more because I sincerely felt sorry for the poor woman than because my inner germaphobe wanted to run for the hills. She went into the room where they keep journals and stuff, and when she got back out and turned slightly away from my view to lock the door, she brought one hand up to her face and sneezed twice. The first was a pretty quiet half-stifle, "NgtSH", followed by two hitching breaths before another, somewhat louder, full sneeze, sounding something like "Huh-akTSHHuh!". She sighed afterwards, sounding like she was very tired of this, then went straight to the bottle of hand sanitizer that's on a shelf in the corridor and disinfected her hands. Honestly, I think she probably should have stayed at home today, because she looked terrible, but props to her for using that hand sanitizer at least.
NoV Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I would have found it very difficult to concentrate on anything she had to say after such an episode. I have a real thing for sneezes getting more powerful as they progress rather than the opposite, and this sounds like a perfect example. It's as if the effort of containing them is too much and she just starts to give up
Chanel_no5 Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 I would have had a hard time focusing too, but I wasn't there to see her but my (male, and very healthy) therapist. But I was extremely lucky to get to see it! And oh yeah, I agree, I love it when they start out semi in-control but then it's just becoming too much...! While I didn't see (or hear) more from her, I'm pretty sure that was neither the first nor the last time she sneezed today. I want to feel sorry for her because I really, really like her and she looked like she felt awful, but even so... I still enjoyed it.
Shamaël Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 That was a great obs! I too love when the sneezes get stronger and there is no way people can hold them back, no matter how hard they try... 31 minutes ago, Chanel_no5 said: I want to feel sorry for her because I really, really like her and she looked like she felt awful, but even so... I still enjoyed it. Well, I think this is the major "problem" of the fetish - being torn between empathy and enjoyment. (Okay, not a real problem... ) Thanks for sharing!
Sneezingnonstop Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 This is a very great and conflicting observation, cause it does sound really great, but I agree that I'd feel bad>_<. Thanks for sharing this though!
