JolliLolli Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 It wasn't Flaky's FAVORITE chore, but someone had to do it! Today, it was time to clean up the Attic. Flaky hated having to clean it every 6 months, not just because of the Spiders and Darkness that came with it (but don't get me wrong, those were good reasons to hate it). The Thing Flaky hated most was all the dust she had to clean. Simply because it fell from the ceiling, the walls, the furniture and got caught on her Quills. Which was always fun to shake out then clean up again! Sometimes the dust lingered on her hands until further notice. Such was the case today. Flaky carefully climbed up the stairs that led to the Attic, already getting some Dust on her hands. She grumbled and continued climbing. Once at the top, she started dusting small objects with a feather duster. Then the larger ones, all in complete darkness. Which any other day would have sent Flaky running under her covers in fear. But she had a job to do...Doesn't mean it wasn't scary though. A few times she felt a spider on her arm, only to realize it was a piece of lint. Then she felt another piece of "lint". Flaky sighed and tilted her arm a little to let the lint fall off, but it didn't. Then it moved on its own. Flaky screamed so loud she dropped the feather duster, in a complete panic she ran blindly around the Attic trying to get the spider off. Until she finally face-planted into the wall. A huge cloud of dust and mold surrounded her and made it even harder to see. "GAAHH!" She screamed. She couldn't help but scream again and the Debre entered her lungs. Flaky made a futile attempt to try and cough it up. When she suddenly froze. "Oh no..." Her nostrils flared, and her breathing hitched. Which due to the still lingering dust cloud only made the unbearable tingle in her nose stronger. Flaky waved her hands around trying to clear it so she could at least take a clean breath. She managed to clear it long enough so that she could walk safely to the other side of the room. That powerful urge to sneeze was only getting stronger. "He...HECHEW!!!!!" Flaky sneezed, followed by a "Shing" and what sounded like wood being struck. She turned around and saw 5 of her quills stuck in the wall behind her. She sniffed and rubbed her nose with her hand. Big Mistake. She didn't realize her hands were still covered in dust until it was too late. Her already irritated nose twitched. This time Flaky made an attempt to stifle it or stop it. She squinted her eyes. "Heee...Ha...Hnnn..." Her feeble attempts to stop the inevitable weren't working. She almost wanted to let it go just to get rid of this horrible feeling that was starting to give her a headache. She finally lost control. "HECHEW!!! He..HECHEW!!!" About 12 Quills fired off her head like a bullet, 6 hitting the wall and the rest shattering some form of decoration. Flaky tried to keep herself from rubbing her nose since that would likely trigger another reaction. Thankfully, she didn't have to trigger it herself. Since just seconds after the first rapid fire sneeze, she felt another one coming! She didn't bother fighting this one due to already being out of breath. On top of that, she was pretty she had a bald spot on the back of her head. "HECHEW!!!! HECHEW!!! Eh...Ha... HECHEW!!!" Flaky's body basically gave her about 5 seconds to catch her breath before it started again. "HECHEW!!!!!" She sneezed loudly one more time before the feeling finally subsided and she was left gasping. Maybe she could put cleaning this place off until tomarrow. She went downstairs and closed the hatch to the Attic. "Oh well. At least no one else was around!"
