LastHope Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 I've had a cold for I don't know how long now, since Christmas. Since it flared up again about a week ago, I haven't been able to sneeze without inducing and it's been sOOO frustrating but this morning I woke up and I was sneezing loads!! I know it's because of my cold but I'm so happy my nose has finally decided to cooperate. I feel better today, too, which makes it a lot better. Often I sneeze in doubles or triples, or very, very powerful singles (one prompted me to write this post) which have really long buildups, such as: hiihhh.... ihhh... huiihhhh... ugh... HUUiiiiihhhh... hihh... HUUUH-ISSHHUUUUU!!!-ugh. So frustrating, but so much relief at the same time.

Eights of Spades Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Glad you're feeling better. And bless you! But a cold for a month? That must have been terrible....or great depending on how you look at it
Luisa39 Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Bless you! If you've really had the cold since Christmas, I wonder if it's become a sinus infection by now? I'd make a doctor's appointment or go to a walk-in clinic if I were you.
M214186 Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Bless you. I can relate as well. Came down with cold myself before thanksgiving. Horrible, one was teary-coworkers thought I was crying. My nose was so itchy and I felt like I had to sneeze so bad. I also had to keep blowing. This lasted in varying stages until a few weeks ago. My voice is still a bit hoarse every now and again. The tingling, itchy need to sneeze that plagued me throughout was torture. It was not constant. I would get a bit better, then all of a sudden brick wall of yuck! I went to my physician 5 times and was on antibiotics for 6 weeks, including steroids for asthma. I think the cold going around is a doozy.

I have a blood test on Friday to see if I have an immune system disorder because of it. It's like Im almost on the verge of getting rid of it, and then something else comes along, or it comes back with full force. Thank you 2 hours ago, M214186 said: Bless you. I can relate as well. Ive been on antibiotics because my other doctor thought it was bronchitis for a long while, but they didn't do anything at all. The doctor I went to see last week thought he gave me them as a placebo because he thought I was making it all up. I was so mad.
M214186 Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I must have jinxed myself because I am as sick as I was before. It hit me all at once. I was fine Sunday, then Monday at work I had a dry cough-which turned it sneezing in multiples, lots of stuffiness. Headaches, wheezing. So mad at this time.
LastHope Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 I take it back. I need to stop sneezing. Now my cold has progressed (again) and I can't STOP. Ugh.
Sneezingnonstop Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Hope you feel better, though enjoy the sneezing if you can haha, get well soon though!

Saimou Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Wow! I love it when singles are the most powerful sneezes. It’s like your nose compensates for the low quantity of sneezes with supreme strength . Anyway, I hope you didn’t take too long to feel better. Yeah, late reply is late.
